I got one of my faulty Pleos working, which I'm very pleased about. He must be quite an old Ugobe Pleo as he's running the original software - he sits still and for the first time I've heard the old style Pleo singing. It's been really interesting finding out the differences!

One thing that I've noticed is the giggle. I've always had a bit of a 'bee in my bonnet' about the Pleo giggle - I've heard several forum members talk about their Pleo giggling when tickled on the feet, but whenever I've tried it on both Iggy and Budge I was never sure if what I was hearing was a giggle. They were obviously enjoying it, but the best way I can describe the noise they make is a sort of "kerhitchipoo, kerhitchipoo, kerhitchipoo ......" (I've tried typing that about seven different ways and that seemed the best!). I was always a bit uncertain as to whether or not that was actually a giggle.
Now I've got as-yet-unamed Pleo working I tried tickling his feet, and he giggled! Not only did he definitely do a slightly wheezy, sustained "hee hee hee" along with the familiar "kerhitchipoo", but every now and then I heard a definite "ha ha" as well! It was infectious, too!

So I'm now wondering if the giggle will disappear if I upgrade him, because maybe only the earlier OS did that giggle, or if maybe this is just another example of the way individual Pleos can assert their personality by not using the whole of their available 'vocabulary'?
