Thankyou Degers looks pretty neat all those new items , but i have one problem , could be just my laptop screen but pleo looks alot brighter in colour. Doesent look reall !! looks more like a kids toy now , i feel one major step back on that part. Would of liked that darker green i saw on the choice of new colours. Do you know if we get a colour choice.

So sorry to complain degers , do appreciate what you are showing us thou. Just customer feedback lol

Hmmmm. intriguing. I wonder if the capes will be available in different colour patterns? Certainly would be a less expensive way of offering different colour options instead of custom painting the skin itself.

I just love this ... it is such fun seeing the new details emerging bit by bit.

Also i really Did want to see Pleo available in the colour in the link i am going to post below , this colour Looks more life like and very real i think they should do away with the pattern design they have on current pleo's and do something more like their earlier version Pleo's

Now the Pleo in that picture on the above Link Looks like a proper Baby Dinosaur this is how i would vision how they would Look ... Again very realistic Looking and does not Look like a childs toy either . I sure hope we get a choice in colour's for Pleo reborn and that this colour is 1 of them  

And again another link to a vid of Pleo in this colour He Looks great so PLEASE innvo bring back this colour we want a life form that Looks like a life form,  as in a correct colour! now this is real Looking in my opinion .

Haha, me being the difficult child I am, I highly dislike that color.  That doesn't look like a 'baby dinosaur' to me, that looks like a cartoon character.  Or really bad claymation.

I still insist on a smokier\darker green and less of the strange line patterns.

lol Nope i defo think the colour in those Links is the closest i seen on realism on Pleo  

we both agree on the strange Lines though unless this type of dinosaur was known to have scales i dont think there should be any strange Line pattern on pleo just not natural Looking to me .

Sorry Gaz, have to agree with Allo on that one - that colour's horrid! Although I too am a bit concerned by the brightness of the Pleo Rb pics, I'm hoping it's a reaction to the flash!  Baby animals often are suprisingly coloured with strong contrasting patterns - to our eyes they can look rather bright, but to the predator they're hiding from the pattern breaks up the outline of their form and makes them invisible.

I wouldn't judge the color of all the Pleo RBs based on this one.  I think I can say without giving away anything inappropriate, that all the photos so far are of the same pleo, and this one pleo is not one from the production run of pleos.  So a lot of your fears may be for naught.

And lets not get too sidetracked on the color issue.  The image you refer to at the beginning of your post barretgazzy is one of the earliest prototypes, and that skin pattern was rejected very early on in the development of pleo, so I can guarantee you won't be seeing any pleos that look like that one.

SO, let' keep to the topic here . . .

yeah i can not see how that skin colour would be rejected unless who ever decided that was only thinking what colour will attract young children and to be honest i do not think they should be aiming at young children for pleo rb to be successful . i really Like the colour in the links i love reptiles and this is more realistic then the colours on current pleo's .

As with breeding Many different reptiles and keeping all sorts of reptiles etc in my time i would not of thought a baby dino especially as this was a dino at risk from predators would of stood out with bright colours and unless this dino has hair Lol or scales i do not see the need for adding the Line pattern on pleo  unless the only reason is to make Pleo appealing to Young children . If the colour and pattern were to be anything right at all i would say this would of been a Adult Males colour not a baby Dino which prob would of had more of a dull colour to it to hide away within the lower shrubs and what ever was around in those times .
Bright greens would of been for Dino's living up in the Trees i would of thought , not baby Dinos that are walking on Land and are very small and would be at high risk from predators . Most people who probs do not know alot about reptiles or scaly animals only think of the Green Iguana lol which is more of a tree Climber and spends its time basking on high branches .
The point of me saying i want the colour in those links is to put a point across ...  Ok so maybe not that exact shade but use colours That blend better as in those links will be better and this could be any shade! it just needs to Look natural so do away with the Lines and if you are going to use 2 or 3 shades in Pleo's colour make them blend properly and do not go from bright green straight to a tan colour etc as this just makes him look like a painted toy ! ... This is what i mean.

i guess if people prefer the Skin like cape that too can always be purchased from Pleoworld as i take it Pleo Reborn will be the same size as our current Pleo's .

Well, I'll spill a little bit of the info to tide you over for the weekend . . .

The reason for the cape being a generic brown is that Pleo RB isn't a consistent color.   The basic color will still be the green on top, brown on the bottom, but the specific shades of green will vary from pleo to pleo.  The assembly line is set up so that the paint colors will be slightly different on each pleo, plus the eye color will also vary (I believe they said there were about ten different eye shades), resulting in no two pleos looking identical.  Therefore a pleo cape with a specific color pattern on it wouldn't match any specific pleo.  The pattern will be the same, but the shades will vary.  One pleo may be darker or lighter than another, brighter or duller.  Two Pleo RBs standing next to each other will be easy to tell apart, but to the untrained eye, two pleos on either side of a room will still look just alike.

The pattern is also just slightly different enough that a pleo owner can tell a Pleo RB from a regular pleo,

One bit of news is that degers did have a nice phone call with Derek Dotson of Innvo Labs where Derek tells us all about the new Pleo RB and what all we can expect.   The good news is Derek wants us to share the whole call with everyone!  All the details!  Everything you ever wanted to know about Pleo RB!   . . .   The bad news is, I'm gonna make you wait through the weekend before I post it!
