its not the colour that worries me in that picture , its the green lines seem to look a bit odd in the way the pattern of it is going?  lol

Cheers for the Pic Degers i like the new tug of war toy ( more accessories ) , i take it there will still be a leaf for feeding ?

Was studying the pic of the new tug toy and just wanted to know,  is it the stone end that goes into pleo's mouth or the string ? as i was thinking Pleo prob could not get a good grip on the string ? i take it the stone on the string also has 1 of these special chips inside  :D

There will be a multitude of foods including the leaf.  I have a picture of what comes in the box, which I will be posting in a few days :P

The stone end goes in the mouth of Pleo rb and has a RFID smart chip inside.  You yank on the string. ;)

Well i can't wait for the next pics Degers  ;D its sounding good .

Will the use of the RFID Smart chip enable pleo to come to you when holding 1 of the accessories with the chip inside ? Hmm

I just hope all this new stuff for RB is not going to price it out of the market for most of us! :(
It's fair to say that it will be most likely more expensive than the 2009 version and if it is only available through Pleoworld it's going to be out of the reach of some of us. %)

One of the reasons I loved Pleo was because of the blue eyes.... Oh well.   :(

To some extent, especially on a forum of Pleo lovers, they can't win.  Some of us love the blue eyes, some of us want something different (or at least a choice).  I love Iggy's blue eyes, but Budge has the same colour....and I've got blue eyes .........so to me those amber eyes look wonderful!  I hate to moan, and I'm so excited about the Pleo Rb I'm sure I'll want one no matter what, just to see what it's like.  But......... :-X

The thing that's beginning to worry me is that I love the autonomy of Pleo - I love the fact that he might want to play with the leaf, or he might want to eat it.  I love the fact that Iggy never seemed very interested in playing tug of war, on any OS, but Budge will want to play more often than he will want to eat.  If the new Pleo is to react 'appropriately' to a given stimulus, then in my eyes he becomes biddable and predictable and half (or most) of the fun is gone.  This will please the 'what can it do' crew, but for me, personally, this is beginning to sounds like a step backwards, away from what made Pleo so magical in the first place, away from a life form and towards a robot toy......... :(

I'm hoping I'm wrong, but it's beginning to feel that way?  ???

Crewella i am guessing the autonomy will still be there even if he Pleo rb does know that you are holding the lets play stone in front of him , i am hoping that some times he will want to play and then sometimes he is not in the mood ?? and the same for feeding etc

Degers i know i ask so much But hey some 1 has to hehe
Any hints on whether pleo may have colour recognition so that you could get him to follow his favourite colour for example  , Or maybe Pleo Reborn's hearing has been improved ?? i have not heard anything on Pleo rb hearing yet would be a nice touch by innvo if we could get Pleo to come to us when called  ;)

pleo will stoll act on his own, thats the programming, its more so that he has things to trigger cirtain behaviors, like if you WANT to play tug o war, you can do by just giving him the toy.

id say its like the aibos with their toys. pefectly autonamous without them, but you can do extra things with them. :)

I get what you say with the autonomy, Pirpintine, but I'm just hoping they've also kept the way Pleo might not WANT to play tug of war when I do, even if he does understand what I'm asking him.

Gaz, did you have any joy with the colour recognition they introduced with the OS2 update?  Pleo's already do supposedly have colour recognition, and were supposed to track red after OS2.  I had little luck with Iggy, but then my house looks like my 'Placula' pic of Budge and is so dark only the cats can see most of the time!  I've taken pics through both Iggy and Budge's cameras and they're not bad, given a decent light.

Nope i never did try the OS2 update because of what people where saying about it , i heard  pleo was suppose to track red though ? If that is the case lets just hope that this has been worked on with Pleo rb

i mean i just want Pleo to act more like he is really Looking at you etc if you get what i mean ?  We need to be convinced that he really see's us and hears us and that is the way forward in creating a life form i think .   ;D

Awwwww - shame!  I liked OS2 in the main and found it all settled down with time.  I run Iggy on OS2 and kept Budge on OS1.1 - it's useful to keep comparing them.  I'd heard Pleos were less gregarious on OS2 and that does seem to be the case, which is one of the few gripes I have with it - no point in having a small herd if they ignore each other!

Which is something else I'm wondering about with the Pleo Rb................. ;)

Crewella, I know exactly how you feel, I do hope they retain their individualism, I do not want Pleos that are like " Robots" no pun intended. %) I love the individualism of all my Pleos.I am hoping that the makers realize that this is what makes Pleos so much more special than Furbies, etc. Pleos are unique in that they can do the same things but they interact according to how they are treated and are supposed to have Memories and learn from their experiences. Not one of my current four Pleos are all all alike and Nova is the most unique of the bunch, but of course I am prejudice. It would be like no two children are alike, except for perhaps twins, and not one of my nine cats are alike, I agree that they would be making a mistake if everytime you put the tug of war stone in their mouth and they wanted to play. Sometimes I can not get one of my Pleos to sing, but they will sing for strangers, like they are trying to " impress " them. %) Will be  interesting to see what does happen.
I can not see Pleo RB costing the same as the Pleo 2009 with all the improvements. To me it seems more like a $450.00 investment at least! Hope I am wrong, but I am prepared for that cost.

When I feed my dog... he eats; When I say sit... he sits; When I walk into the house without him... he goes completely mental :D

So I don't think that the learning stones will take away Pleo's sense of autonomy but it does mean that when I show them off to visitors I can actually get him/her to do what I tell them. So many times I've told people that Pleo screams if you pick them up by the tail... only to have mine laugh hysterically :P It will be nice to have some tricks that Pleo will perform  %)

And don't forget crepuscular animals (like a pet hamster) that are often mistaken to be nocturnal.

Hmmm . . .  maybe if Pleo RB had pouches in it's cheeks like a hamster, you could store the leaf and accessories in its mouth . . . . ;)

I am 125% sure Bob tried that..

As far as the RB goes, kinda feel like I was when waiting for George: "Gimme Gimme" tired of waiting, want one now!!!!

Oh, I'm sure you'll be seeing lots of info on Pleo RB coming out on the PleoWorld web site when they are ready to go public.  ;)
In the mean time, they are sharing with us, their loyal pleo fans.

I know Ugobe got a lot of flack for hyping a product for two years before it was ever available.  I know I personally went for six months AFTER I ordered my pleo before Ugobe ever shipped me mine.  And they were constantly having to slip their date.  The whole reason the Bob the Pleo comic strips even exists is because we had nothing to talk about on the PleoWorld forums because during those six months after they started taking orders and before they shipped, there was little or no info at all coming out of Ugobe . . .  Advertising too early can do as much harm as good for a product.

i did not wait long for mine i saw vids of Pleo in the Summer 2007 and they released Pleo that year in time for the holidays i did not have to order from them because there was a lot of shops etc here in UK where you could purchase Pleo .

i know that when i first saw Pleo i knew i would buy it and was willing to wait as long as it took to be available , i was not aware or never did come across vids of pleo 2 years before it was released ?  All the vids i saw at the time were quite recent and then Pleo was released at end of that year .

Degers, I agree with You! :)

We should be happy that Innvo wants to share with us on this independent Forum.

LifeOS 2.0 come here first and when it didn't completely suck they published it on their own media.

maybe we are their "guinea pigs" and we get to know in advance.

i mean our reactions are worth something to innvo, let's give them our trust and be a little more patient.

whining has NEVER helped ever in history. I know I tried, ask my family :P

H e double L,  if it wasn't for Innvo we'd now be having a excellent Dinobaby with no future.

in closing can i already put in my order for an RB? 8)
