Yeah I was also disappointed with the lack of any real info.
I don’t understand their tactics or why they wouldn’t have something a bit more concrete to take to the exobission.  Surely that would have been the perfect opportunity for them to unveil something when everyone’s watching.

Plush Pleo!

Nestled along the side of the company's small booth at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas was a smaller version of Pleo, which at first glance looked like a stuffed animal. It's not. According to Jetta officials, it's a plush version, where all the painted, rubber skin has been replaced by fabric. Under that, soft stuffing surrounds Pleo's motors, joints, and technology.

Oh my gosh that is so cute and cuddly looking :D Mind you though I still prefer the realism of the rubber skin...

Ah now that’s more like it. Some more solid info at last.
It’s a very interesting idea that. I’d hope that it would   be more advanced though rather than just a plush covering. Still though  providing it  can  communicate with my original pleo  though I’d prob consider getting a plush version just    for the cute  huggabilitey  of it, not that  I’m suggesting that current  pleos aren’t   huggable of course.

Hmmmm I really prefer the rubber Pleo over the "plush Pleo". And they still need to give up their information (that they said they'd give up!). Argh! Geez.

Innvo Lab's not going anywhere. And if it's just to protect their precious, delicate skin, clothings okay. They shouldn't be dressed up like dolls.

Yeah there’s definitely   something to be said about the realabilatey   that the rubber skin would give over the plush   version. The plush version would look more toy like I’d imagine.  Cuddly though it is and I’d prob like one for the novelty of it I still   choose my original pleo over it.
It’s a bit frustrating  that    there not  giving   out more technical info about the  advancements of the 2010  version  but  The  I don’t know if  we will get much more info  about the 2010 model  at least for the time being.  Maybe I’m reading to much in to  the statement  that they just want to concentrate   on  marketing the robot  but it seems to me that they might have  decided to  shelve plans  for  any   more advanced models at this time.
 Really hoping I’m wrong  though

maybe it's not a bad idea a plushie vers. of Pleo, but that prototype is a little bit fat ;)
Maybe iof they will able to do a pleo that looks exactly the current one will be better.

It looks more like a toy and it doesnt have a grin like the first pleo and in addition to that the plush version look more like a turtle head :(I would prefer the original pleo 2009 with its soft rubber and realistic appearance.

is it a replacement for the normal Pleo's?  or are they going to be making both Plush Pleo's and normal Pleo's?

maybe they're looking for a more stretchable material taht fits Pleo well. The pleo in the photo it's a prototype, maybe the definitve model will be better ;)

Ewww!! Totally hate the plush pleo!!!! Totally hate it! Well maybe if he didn't look so fat and ugly and wrinkly I'd buy it. If it was a cheaper model with all the same features as a regular pleo, I'd buy it. So it's not too too too too bad, it just needs work. Is this for real though? Is this the next model they're selling?

Now that it's over, the official word from Innvo is that there were no announcements or unveilings at this show.  It was intended as just a re-introduction of the little guy.  News, announcements, updates, whatever will come later in the year.  The plush pleo was just a prototype to get people's impressions/reactions while at the show.  Jetta hasn't decided if they even want to pursue developing a softer, gentler pleo . . .  It was more along the lines of the lamb-skin pleo they had at the Maker Faire a few years back . . . .

Even having a little lamb costume helps. Fabric is awful to work with.  :o Fuzz clings and gets all over the place, but when finished ,it is mighty soft and cuddly and doesn't shed. ;)

Great video.  Definitely reinforces the idea that all Innvo Labs/Jetta did at CES is re-introduce pleo to the world.
