First welcome to the Forums. I have a granddaughter who got her Pleo for Christmas last year when she was 5. That was all she wanted for Christmas. Being a girl and not into dinosaurs that much she still loves Princess Bella and has learned to handle her with much care. Right now her Princess stage has taken over her life but she will play with her when I bring my two Pleo's over to visit, Angel-Juliet and Dinomite-Romeo. I have been teaching her to interact with Bella and the older she gets and now with the new skits thanks to several talented people, especially all the skits In Memory of Romeo has made available for us her interest is picking up. I don't think you will have that problem. Boys tend to really be into dinosaurs and not princessess.
I take my two Pleo kids to different places. Recently on a trip to my granddaughters afterschool care we had many sets of hands wanting to touch and feel as well and poke at them. Children from pre-school - 4th grade were there and I spent time explaining how delicate the neck and tail are because of cables and that extreme care must be taken when handling the dinosaurs to avoid breaking the neck and tail. I let each one touch the foot to see how the skin felt and after the younger ones went outside I let the older ones touch the top of the head and answered their very intricate questions. It was so wonderful, I might add that the younger children wanted to know if they were real!
You and your son are about to embark on a wonderful journey. As you teach him to interact with his new dinosaur from the time he/she hatches, wobbles to his/her feet, takes the first steps etc. and gently care for his precious baby dinosaur the most exciting adventure begins. If you have video tape it, we did not and regret it. Even stills are good. Priceless pictures you will always treasure. I, along with all the rest of our forum family breathlessly await to hear how it went and please sent pics if you can to the gallery. We are all so excited when another Pleo is birthed.
