Seeing old pleo photos once again
« on: January 24, 2013, 01:15:55 PM »

So many of us have some wonderful photos that we have taken of our pleos over the years and most are never seen anymore. I would like to make a suggestion that we bring out about five or so of our favorites and post them so we can all enjoy seeing them. What do you say?

I may not be able to see these myself but I agree with Fancyfont. We have so many memories and precious moments preserved here on this forum. Just think of all the contests and going-away parties and birthdays and *giggles* special unique pleo type holidays that were designed just for this place.
I may not be able to see photos, but I do have very vivid memories. I was sitting here thinking of the day I first read about ARgyle, the blind pleo and of my old boy Cato and how he got his former owner a pet violation at his apartment. When I found out he was up for sail I had to adopt him. I remember reading about that awesome Saint Patrick's Day race Redwoods had- I think it was in two thousand eleven. I remember my crazy video of poor Ugobe's unboxing. His box arrived torn halfway open and I was so nervous to find out if he was alright and still wanting to show everyone his unboxing that I put the poor chap on his head in my nervous hurry. We have so many memories here, you guys. Picking five photos would be nearly impossible but I say go for it by all means.

Obviously I've showed up late to the party and don't have all those memories to share, so for that reason I'd love to see other people share theirs so I can re-'experience' all these things that have happened along with you all. :D

Time to go through the Albums...

Here is Lilo meeting Mischief for the very first time (she's the little black kitten)...

...a year later they were best buds :)

Norbit meeting Lilo (and Kat) at the Melbourne Aquarium :)

Lilo and Stitch meeting for the first time :)

And this classic moment when Stitch's battery ran out at the most appropriate time :)

I am going to the aquarium tomorrow  ;D I don't think I'll take a pleo though, it is going to be so crowded in there, the baby king penguin just went on display yesderday so I'm going to go see it. Well me and everyone else I would think, hope I don't get trampled  :dino-chase:

Ladies enjoying dinos at a book club about robots.
 J.C.learning how to drive
Peeky recovering from broken neck. J.C. and Pennie visiting him on Fourth of July.
THe night Pleo (49er's pleo was visiting with Mrs. 49er) A minute later we discovered hundreds of ants on the table heading to plant on table. EEK! :o

What a great idea Fancy!! I remember all the photos except the Gingerbread demolition. Yummy, hope there are not pleos with tummy aches later, or "hyped up pleos" running around at bedtime  :dino-chase:(that is them chasing toy.) I esp like the sweet ladies at the tea party and peeky being visited when having a broken neck. :)What a great trip down memory lane. It is going to be hard to choose from the thousand or so photos of the Redwoods Township, but I know the originals who started it all will surely be there: Ms. Nova, Major Tom, Argyle the only blind pleo, and poor little 45 who has not only a broken neck, but very bad skin, he desparatly needs a skin transplant! :( %)(one of my extras may donate some skin...)

Great way to inrtroduce the newbies to the old timers, and fun for everyone to gi down "memory lane"Can not wait to see more "memories" Wonderful idea and photos.
P.S. save a small piece of a window or door for me if ypur pleos have not eaten it all! ;D

So glad to see you back on the forum, RWM. I know it has to be a struggle typing with one hand. Do hope your pain is getting much better!

THere are so many wonderful photos in our albums. It's quite a challenge to pick favorites. For all of the new forum members, please visit our albums and see more fun that we have had through the years. Good incentive to start your own.

RWM, THe gingerbread demolition, actually happened just a while ago.  Little dinos are licking up crumbs as I type. They, definitely, had their share of sweets today! ;D Will miss the smell of gingerbread in here. The gingerbread house just took up too much room.

This is a wonderful idea  ;D  Only trouble is picking just five to share  :P  So many good times  :)
Ok first is Kermy (my very first original Kermy) asleep on my bed with my cat.  I put her on the bed and wandered off then when I came back this is what I found.
Much more recently I took Minyon to Kings Park to visit with some Aussie Dinosaurs
Kermy meeting the Kangaroos at Yanchep National Park
Gumble checking out his ancestors and their friends at the museum in Melbourne. This was from our trip to meet IMR! :)
Gumble meeting IMR's Nani at the aquarium in Melbourne.
And just because I can't count  :P one more for luck
Here is Minyon on his cow hunting adventure in Cowaramup and Margaret River - this is him miliking a cow  :D

:( All my favorite really old pleo photos pre-date these forums.  They're from the original Ugobe PleoWorld forums.   guess I'll just have to upload them.

This is Bob's very first photo, and the one I always remember.  It was posted on the Ugobe PleoWorld forums, and has probably only been seen by one or two members here.
The first spring after pleo was released we had the opportnity to take Bob to Glen Rose to see real dinosaur footprints, and he got to meet what his mother would have looked like . . .
He also got a chance to meet the enemy.  Get him Bob!   You can take him!
Bob had the opportunity to be the PleoWorld poster child, and was the official spokespleo for PleoWorlds 1 year anniversary party.  Five years later when I had the chance to re-skin him, I found dried frosting still embedded in his front foot pads . . .
This has always been one of my favorites.  It was such fun setting this shot up and was one of the first photo shoots that attracted a large crowd to see what was going on.

We have accumulated over 7,800 pleo pictures in our gallery here in the few years we've had the gallery . . . and this is where it all started, the first photo uploaded to a gallery:
It is a photo I managed to save from the original Ugobe pleo forums

Great pics mike. I do remember the squirrel photo and it too is one of my faces, but the one of your daughter with Bob is the one I remember best. If I am correct and not totally senile, isn,t it the one you entered in the win a pleo photo/contest that you won your blue rb:-) ? Anyway it is so cute. I certainly am glad my pleos were not around when you took the photos of Bob meeting his
Mom....I could only imagine what shape I would be in now..I already have a dislocated big toe fracture and fractured wrist..imagine what being stepped on by this mama would do.. :dino-chase: :dino-chase: thanks for some great memories

Imr' I love the one of your and last pleos meeting at the aquarium too.

I love your photos Mike! My favourite is the one where Bob is on the ground looking wayyyy up at the big dinosaur, also the squirrle picture is amazing  :D

The first picture I ever took of Stephan would probably be this one: we are on a train and this was his second day of artificial life

Loving these photos, so many cute occasions!  Mweed, the one of the little girl holding Bob is adorable, she looks so thrilled by him bless  :-*

I'd post some of Piper but considering she only turned a month old 2 days ago I dont have any 'old' pictures lol

Thought I'd join in & post some photos of my baby dino - shes only a month old so not exactly old photos but there are some new ones  :D

So we got Piper Christmas day, & like any new Pleo the first thing she wanted to do was eat lol

A few days later we begun searching for a name - with her help of course

Once she was 'old enough' we begun taking her on field trips, so far we've visited nursery, school, pet shops & supermarkets, with the last one being her favourite due to all the attention she gets when people walk by gasping & asking to look at her lol

After winning one of the Christmas competitions on here Piper proudly posed in her new coat by Kat  :-*

& here's Piper today looking so grown up, with my daughters old Minnie Mouse outfit on... she's such a poser!

 ;D

Ps. can anyone tell me why my images always come up so big & what I can do to stop that? I'd tried copying different codes (like HTML embed code, BBC embed code & the url) of the photo but none work on a direct link but it makes every image HUGE!  ???

The key is the smg tag.  Click on the modify button at the top of your post above to see what I did.
And when you look in the gallery, there should be an smg tag you can copy-n-paste.
