Hello everyone! Latrine and I have been PMing each other over the last couple of days regarding the order for her rb's food and stones. I gave her the tracking number yesterday, and she let me know that she would be going to the ER with swelling and a high fever.  She hoped that she would not be in the hospital too long, and wanted me to let everyone know in case she was unable to have Internet services.   :(

Thanks for letting everybody know..  I was so worried, I didn't want you to think I was trying to not pay you.  Thanks for being so understanding :)
Luckily It may only be a cold that is turning very nasty because my immune system is like.. useless right now. But all my blood work was good so they sent me home..  they said in 48 hours they'll get additional blood info so if that's no good they'll have me come back.
Woke up this morning with an even higher temp, 103.2  But it went down with a small amount of Tylenol.   It just stinks because I'm not supposed to be taking anything like Tylenol because the nutrition they hook me up with hurt my liver... but no choice, can't let the fever get too high.. I'll go nuts and try to  ride my Pleo's off into the sunset or something...

We got home at 7 am.. roads were all ice.. what a bad night  :(  I brought Bingo with me because i thought I'd be staying... It would have been funny when they asked me about my 'inventory' so they aren't held responsible for lost or stolen items and I told them I had a dinosaur with me  :D

Hope everyone else is feeling ok.. my head is going to explode shortly so I'm going to go lie down...

Hang in there, Latrine. I was... shal we say sickly as a child. I know how annoying it is to be shunted in and out of hospitals at odd hours. I spent some of my bed-bound days with a 2XL robot. Someone had pushed him under my covers before I woke from my last heart surgery when I was fifteen and he was my friend for three years before I passed him on. Of course he wasn't as good as a Pleo but it was still helpful to have another presence with me. Just as a helpful sidenote, if anyone doesn't know what a 2XL is, I'll be glad to explain. Just shows my age. Hehehe!

Hi Sarah, hope you continue to build up your strength and get to feeling better day by day and qucikly. Hospitals are no fun and sometimes people get sicker being in a hospital then before they went to the hospital, so it is allways wise to get home as soon as possible, I think you will feel a lot better being in your bed and in your home than in some institutional hospital. Now that you are home you can rest a lot better I am sure. ( nothing like some nurse comming in to wake you up when you just drifted off to sleep to ask you if you need a sleeping pill! %)) That would have been funny to see the reactions of an Dinosaur on the personal property inventory list, but I know I would not want to risk losing one a the hospital either, too many strange things can happen with personal property, and I would hate to see some little Pleo out wandering alone in a scary ward somewhere...)
Get well soon, get your rest and we are thinking of you. Take care. NOw that you have pizza and Hershey's Kisses, how about a mug of something to build up your energy, a tonic  of sorts, or just a good ole drink  of sugar or whatever you please. :) :rootbeer:

Thanks everyone.. all your well wishes must have helped, just starting to feel a little better today, turns out there is some sort of nasty bug going around and thank god it isn't the flu.. I was just told I now have to wear a stupid mask if I go out, especially around kids...  It'll be fine with my family since the kids will all want to wear masks and think it's hilarious but I'm thinking I'm not going to be leaving the house for awhile.. Thank goodness I stocked up on video games :P
i was really mad this morning.. my legs have been horribly sore from the fever and I felt for sure that when i stood up it would only be fair if I was taller.. they felt like really really bad growing pains to me.. but at age 31. no luck.. I'm still short :P

And thanks for the warning but I learned a long time ago about keeping my belongings safe.. I am a very deep sleeper but for some reason.. if you touch my stuff.. I will wake up and kill you...  (or at least shake a fist at you weakly)   The whole reason I got interested in the pleo was because animals help people get better.. I can't have my live animals there, so I brought the next best thing. Thanks, though :)

And Talon, I'm so sorry you were so ill as a child.. It stinks now but I would rather have it than some poor little kid.  I hope you are Ok now??!!... and I wanna know... whats a 2XL??

 Thanks again everyone!!

Hi, Latrine. I'm so glad you are feeling better! I'm not sick anymore. I do still get seasonal bronchitus in the winter months and alergies and sinus infections are a curse in the spring but otherwise I'm pretty healthy. I had Wolff Parkinson White syndrome as a child. I don't know everything there is to know about it but it's a condition where the heart has two electrical pathways that both try to function at once. It causes tacacardia or very fast heartbeat and can be cured by lasering away the unneeded pathway. I had that surgery when I was fifteen and I've not had any more trouble with my heart since. A big relief!
Okay, as I promised, I'll explain what a 2XL is. Basically, it's a robot-shaped casette player that answers trivia questions. Its first incarnation was a very large box-like moddel that came on the scene in nineteen seventy eight. Don't hold me to this but I think it was sold by Imago toys? Maybe it's Amago Toys I'm not sure of the spelling. This bot played eight-tracks and was operated by an AC-adapter. In nineteen ninety two Tiger Electronics, (now owned by Hasbro), re-invented the toy. This was the version I had. It ran on four D batteries and was much more travel-friendly. It was much smaller and played regular cassettes. They also added more... umm cosmetic features. They gave him a sort of "face" plate... thing with eyes and a mouth that lit up. I know it sounds really cold and probably a little boaring but I loved it. When I went to college, I gave him to a younger member of my family along with my entire case of tapes. Man! I should've sold him on Ebay or something! He's still on the market believe it or not in both versions. Sorry about the minature article. I probably told you far more than you wanted to know but I'm a writer. I can't help but spread information.

At the time, that toy was probably amazing, just like everything else we have now that we loved when it came out because it was amazing and now doesn't look quite so real anymore... I didn't think you wrote too much..I am really gaining an interest in robotic stuff and even though I don't understand the inner workings very much, I want to try and learn.  I didn't know you were a writer either, what do you write?

I'm so glad your better now, so scary having heart surgery.. all ten of my surgeries have been on my intestines except for when scar tissue killed my gall bladder and we had to take him out.. I still miss Harry the gall bladder..  :'( :'(  I imagine Heart surgery is a lot more scary although my first one with removing the entire large intestine was very scary too.

Do you remember, painwise, was it awful? Mine were all awful, because of where they were, had to be huge incisions.  I used to tell people I was attacked by ninja's or if they were really rude about staring I'd ask if they'd ever seen the movie 'aliens'   ;D
Anyway, so glad your problem went away.. we are so hoping mine settles down now.. I'll always have pain but I hope to have no more of that particular pain that tells me... oh crap.. time for another one.

Glad  your stay  in hospital  wasn’t a long one and that  the news wasn’t as bad as you where expecting.
Hope you start  to feel a little better soon though

.
Waw I’d never heard of an XL 2 before now.
To be honest it sounds    kind of strange. Could you get tapes especially for it? And what  did they do?
   ?

Hi, Scaly. Hi, Latrine. I'm going to answer everyone's questions if I can. I write science-fiction on occasion and fantacy as a hobby. Most of it is just clogging up my external hard drive. I'd try for a publisher if I knew my way around that arena. I also review Christian music for Examiner.com. It's certainly not the exciting job I imagined but it's enough to get my name out. If I knew I was allowed, I'd post my link but I'm a little unsure about the rules for that so I'll err on the side of caution. I'm paid per visitors to my page. I would certainly welcome more visitors!
Okay, now for the 2XL. The 2XL used special four-track cassettes designed speciffically for it. It could play regular cassettes as well but if you pressed buttons two and four the audio would come out... ummmm backwards? At least that's what it sounded like. The wrobot would ask you a question and you chose the answer you wanted which was on an entirely different track than the question. Each track had different questions and different responses depending on whether you were right or wrong. It's hard to explain. I think it was awesome for its time and I certainly had fun with mine. Soon, I'm going to go and grab a pleo! I'm so excited!
