A different kind of plushy pal?
« on: June 29, 2010, 05:50:56 AM »

I've been thinking of making a plushie Trilobite (Asteropyge sp. for the curious).  If I manage to make it work, would anyone want me to post the pattern up here?

That sounds great, and I have allways liked Trilobites. I have a really neat fossil speicimen my daughter found in one of the dry riverbeds here in the Redwoods years and years ago. Can you explain more about what this would be, the size etc? Looking forward to seeing the pattern! :)

I'm thinking I'm gonna make it small. less than a foot long anyway.

I haven't really started hard work on it yet, just some sketches and ideas so far. But my idea is to make it in a simple top/bottom style, so scaling it up wouldn't be too, too hard....I think....

It's gonna be a longer term project in my spare time.

This is the page i'm using for reference. (just click on previously sold) My ultimate goal is to give one to my geology teacher, cuse trilobites are his favorite animal, for christmas this year.

Planning on pipe cleaner stuffed antennae and legs for pose-ability. But it's not gonna be exactly snuggly, so I suppose if snuggles are the goal one could leave out the pipe cleaners. ^.=.^

Well i'm rambling now. I post again when i have some IP pics.

I'm not usually that keen on things with that many legs, but you never know - a plushy one might convince me!  :D
