I will do a separate thread about removing the skin, but as Scully is now part of the family, however inert he might be, I thought I should introduce him. He arrived as a bricked Pleo with no signs of life at all, and I could see that somebody had already had a good go at trying to fix him, had prised off the plate around the battery compartment and had a go at starting to remove the skin around that area and his back feet. In a way, I was really pleased about that, because it meant I could have a go at removing the skin and get a good look at the tech underneath without feeling that I was spoiling a perfectly good Pleo - I originally bought Budge for the same purpose, but there was so little wrong with him I couldn't bear to start taking him apart!
This way, Scully is still a very important part of the family as he's the one that gets to teach me about what goes on under that skin, and for that I'm very grateful to him. He also gave me the opportunity to amuse myself by taking some rather creepy pics!
And, although he's still struggling to fit in with the others, I did make sure he got a Christmas just the same, and gave him a sweater to guard against the cold English winter.
