building a TARDIS
« on: December 13, 2011, 01:17:59 PM »

I've been working in shop class for about 5 months now and my teacher knowing i like Doctor Who and its near Christmas he said he'll help me build my own life sized TARDIS even with working lights :D I'm very excited about this having a life sized police box in the house lol right now im working on priming and painting the roof this is a "David Tennant" era TARDIS who is the 10th incarnation of the doctor...

i got a picture of priming the roof i will get some more pics eventually

you can see how big it is compared to my friends hand... put together its about 8 feet tall...

sorry for the crappy photos there from my 3ds so i don't know how it will turn out...

Thanks for explaining bonus, I used to watch Dr. Who long long ago, but I am afraid my mind is not what it used to be... :( Oh Wel..........life goes on. What a great project and it sounds like you have a great teacher, wow, that would be fun indeed. I was never good with woodworking, but if I had had shop when I was in school and a teacher that was interested in MY interests, and would let me or encourage projects like yours, then that would be another story. Keep the photos comming as it comes along.
By the way, if you could really use this tardis, where would you go, and why? %)

What a super project.  I agree that you have a great teacher.

I'm so pleased it's from David Tennant's era - I really enjoyed his time.  Please do keep the pictures coming.

You. Are. Awesome.  :o
Seriously, this is just so cool! I'm a big Dr Who fan (old school ftw!)  but I'm really enjoying the new seasons too! Tennant is one of my favourite Doctors~ x3
Can't wait to see it all done up and finished! Will it make the noise too?

If I were to go in the TARDIS... I'd want to go back and see real dinosaurs!  ;D
