Bob the Pleo doggy tee
« on: October 16, 2011, 05:48:38 PM »

Has anyone ever tried one of these on a Pleo, I'm kind of tempted to buy one but am not sure about sizing. Any suggestions from those of you who have bought dog clothes for your Pleo's? I'm eyeing the tank top, not the tee as the legs on tee's are usually too tight.

(By the way these are put up by Mweed for anyone to buy :))

I'm guessing you best bet would be Small.  The usual problem with doggie tee shirts is that the right back measurement (which would probably be XS) is not wide enough for the Pleo around the middle and the legholes are too small for the leg width.  %)

Even some Small sizes are still too small around the legs for Pleos, at the cuff if not at the armhole, if it helps I've had the lowest fail rate for vests.  :D

Having said all that, if there's some stretch in the fabric you stand a good chance with a Small.  ;D

Hi, if I were you, would email the site and ask for the chest and back measurements then measure against Pleo. The problem is as Crewella has stated, not all makers have the same measurements. I have purchased Dog shirts that fit just right, and other ones that would not fit in the arms or belly, and others that Small were just right. some times I have had to get a Medium, only because the other measurements were too tight. It also depends on if the material stretches or not. Here is an example of what I mean.
THis is a every inexpensive dog t-shirt that is a size Medium but I think there smalls run smaller and this is why as I have smalls that fit perfect and others that are just tight and I do not want to chance breaking a Pleo neck trying to squeeze it over the head to sqeeze the legs in. this is why I say take measurements. When I go and buy outfits, 90% of the time I have a Pleo with me, because I have had outfits I thought fit and then found out when I got home, they were too tight. so this is why I take a pleo with me unless I know the measurements and save receipts so you can return if need be.
I saw these shirts before, they are cute but too expensive for my budget.

Lacey has this shirt and I think I bought her a small.  The XS, I believe,  would fit a pleo better. The legs would be too tight, but with a little alteration of the length of the legs, I do believe, it would be a better fit.

Sure kept me from tripping over her. The neck hole would have to be taken in a lot on the small. I'm sure on the XS, too

I remember when you posted this before, very very cute. That is true, the neck is almost allways bigger, after all, Pleos have such small necks, but I would rather adjust the neck with a nip and tuck then the legs snip and snip and tuck. I think Bob should have just made a Pleo shirt for a pleo, then no alterations needed! LOL ;)
