The Perfect Paint for Retouching Pleo
« on: November 24, 2009, 11:10:38 PM »

I have found the perfect paint for retouching Pleo's skin.  It's a water soluble vinyl paint that becomes insoluble when it's dry and is manufactured by Lefranc & Bourgeois.  The "Chrome Green Couleur Mate" is almost the exact color of Pleo's skin.  I also bought a tube of "Spring Green" and "Black."  The Spring Green is a close match to the lighter green color on Pleo's body -- and if you mix it with Chrome Green it's spot on.  For Pleo's darker areas, I mixed a little bit of black with the Chrome Green.  I wish I had taken some "before" and "after" photos.  The overall result was so good, that I can hardly see the areas I've touched up -- and I know exactly where they are.

You can buy the paint at Blick Art Supplies (dickblick.com).  They have stores in 17 states or you can order it online.  For more info about the paint itself, check out (bourgeois-flashe-vinyl-paint/#description).  Put the "www" in before dickblick.com and bourgeois....  When I do it, my text gets erased.

Both Cammey and Cloey are getting worn, so this will really come in handy. :)

*poof!*

i am here!

lol sorry i just disappeared [off the face of the planet!!] but i now work 5-6 nights a week over night from 11pm-8:30am. I rarely have the time anymore to get online for as much time as i love to devote to this site. So I just kind of backed off of my whole internet life. Isn't that horrible? Sorry for leaving you guys hanging. Sophie is running just fine [has a cold at the moment...]. We got her a new cape to help her balding skin and we love it! I have been doing just fine myself, like said working quite a bit [and only saving a little! lol] but i bought my first ever car..and insurance..oh joy..but it's a nice little red convertible.

Glad to be back with the community!

Welcome back Gucci! :) We have missed you and Sophie around here. I figured you were working very hard. The Pleoworld cape feels so nice. I think you will like it on Sophie. Congratulations on your red convertible! ;) I bet Sophie likes it too. :)

congratulations Gucchi on your first car, and wow! a red convertible, now that is class! What year by the way? My husband's first car was also a  little red
convertible, a 1960 red with white trim corvette! Glad to hear you are doing well and working hard. I understand about not having much time left to do anything. When you work that many hours, you are lucky to even have time for sleep! ;) By the way, thanks for the info on Glass Chalk. That is what I have been using to " touch up", Nova's spots, and it works fine, and removes easily. also it is very inexpensive where I live, about $3.95 per Chalk, and I have even seen it ( only in green thus far) at the local Dollar Store, hard to beat that.Glad to hear also that Sophie is doing well.Welcome back.

Dpbear, thanks for the info, I allways like to check out new things, though I find the Glass Chalk fine for Nova's " skin' problem for now. If you could post a photo of what the actual item looks like that you use, that would be helpful I am sure for a lot of curious Pleo owners. How much does it cost by the way?

Redwoodsmama!! I forgot to note, try not to overdo it on the glasschalk, as you may have noticed it does remove very easily. And might even stain clothing pleo might be wearing. I try to just lightly dab and blend the area that needs it the most.

The car is a 1998. Beats our current '96! Needs a little work, but we got it for a pretty good price. About a 1/3 paid off. This link works but the images would not expand.
