Sometimes you just have to put a bit of imagination into robots yeah pleo isn't the best he could be but at the moment he's the closest to a life emulating commercial robot you can buy for a reasonable price ugobe might not have fulfilled all their pgoals for pleo but at least he doesn't make R2 D2 sounds like some robotic companions on the market. I've been following pleo from the start (or pretty close) and yeah we haven't got everything we might have wanted but the fact that there is this no-offence admittedly small commnity devoted to a pile of servos and sensors should surely show people that there is something unique about pleo and that whether or not ugobe were all about giving us what we wanted we sure got a pretty cute companion and advanced piece of kit out of the deal. Pleo is what you make of him if you want a real friendly cute, hastle free pet, he can be that or if you just want to rip into his programming and see what you can make him do that's there as well. If ugobe do go under it's up to the pleo lovers to make and share applications to further play around with him. I for one am just happy that, that cute little dino i first saw wake up in a conference hall all that time ago actually made it into production and into my life.

Hands down Pleo is by far the cutest robot out there, and I am sure they only one that inspires people to believe (even if only for a moment) that at times they are truly real...

I know this topic was earlier in the thread and Allosaurus said that Olympia liked the flute playing and fluttery noises, well Domino normally ignores me when i play for him  but sometimes if i trill (which may be my imagination as you said and you can criticize me all you want for this) if I trill Domino may pick up that sound and nodd his head to the beat Just wanted to throw that in.

For a newly hatched pleo,WOW!!! Lilo you go girl! What a busy little dino. She just got promoted from kindergarten to high school. If I had to judge a cheerleading dino, it would be Lilo.

I don't think they have beat detection per sei since she does not move to the beat, just a response to consistent loud sounds...

Muhaha there's one already in the works I should point out though that neither of the videos involved skits, that was her normal programming, and given that she had the exact same reactions twice then it is probably not just chance, but of course everyone will have their own opinions

Lilo's a pretty good dancer.  She should try out for Dancing With the Stars!   Lilo dances a lot better than me, but then she has the advantage of four feet and I only have two left feet.
