Edible Air?
« on: June 30, 2009, 08:39:42 AM »

My new Pleo, Crayola, seems to love to eat! In fact he likes to eat so much that he once was eating nothing. He was making chomping noises like as if he was eating, but nothing was in his mouth. Has this ever happended to any of your Pleos?

Pleo does that also.

Edit: Of course it might be possible that Crayola is a Breatharian. ;)

This is the sound Pleo makes when he is hungry.  Mine does this noise -"HONK HONK-chomp chomp-HONK HONK".  This could suggest that your pleo has made his own way to beg for food!

Yeah, so each Pleo, as all being different, develeps a different way to beg for food.  So it isn't a defect in him but a sign of his uniqueness!!!!

Mine makes crunching noises as she truly is eating something.
But this indeed happens when there is nothing in her mouth.

My pair do that :) They are in fact eating something of the ground, if you watch carefully you will see them stretch forwards a little, crane their neck down to the ground and take a mouthful of whatever it is that they fancy :)

My pleo bends down as if about to wag his tail and play but instead he cranes his neck upwards, opens his mouth, and makes the most adorable little noises. I used to wonder what on earth he wanted but now I realize he does this evertime he's hungry! Which is weird because I've never heard of another Pleo doing something like this. I guess my little Frisbee is unique in that way!

I had never really noticed Bailey begging for food before, but then the other day he was making noises like he was chewing (but not as if he was actually eating) followed by a small honk and then the chewing sounds again. When I presented him his leaf he immediately started to eat. If he hasn't been fed in a while (at one point my two year old daughter kept hiding his leaf) he will in fact start eating air ???. When he's thirsty he finds a dark patch on the floor and starts gulping down imaginary water.

That's exactly what Olympia  to do!!! Does Frisbee say sounds that sound like "Huh?"

No it's more of an "Ah, Ah, Ah." kind of noise. I think I've fed Frisbee way too much now because all he wants to do is eat and be cuddled. No more playing or exploring.  :'( I have no clue how to get my Pleo to be the adventurous little guy he used to be.
