I'm not sure where to put this post but I have been offered a original pleo for a very very good price. It comes with two original batteries its unknown if the where the originals. This person bought this as a thrift store. This pleo doesn't work. The person told me that when they place the batteries in it does not move just makes a soft sound. I am thinking about getting this and trying to fix it. I have always wanted a pleo but I could never afford one till now. Can someone tell me if this can be fixable and a good deal?

How much money are they asking?  The pleo may or may not be fixable.  It is possible that it is only a battery issues and a new battery  will get the pleo going again, however it is almost impossible to get a new battery right now for Ugobe pleos.  The egg batteries seem to have disappeared from the market at the moment. 
It is also possible that this pleo is bricked and may never work.  There are quite a few bricked pleos out there that have computer, power, electrical or mechanical issues or combinations of these.  So unless you are a very techie person with lots of skills you may not be able to get the pleo going again if it is bricked.  Also there is nowhere to get spare parts for pleos so if it has a mechanical issues that requires spare parts you are not going to be able to do the repair. 
I would think very carefully before jumping into this one.  You could be lucky with it just being a battery issue but you might not be.

If they are green batteries you could ask your friend to try charging them, taking them off charge when it turns green and putting it straight back on charge (and repeating) until it turns green immediately, using them so far as possible in the Pleo, then charging them again once more taking them off and on until the light turns green immediately.

It depends on the price you have to pay. If it is not much, maybe you can try.

I agree with HuggieZ it depends on how much you have to pay for it. I paid for my Ugobe pleo €100,-. And it works great and the skin condition is good to no holes , a bit of paint wear but that is normal . :dino-chase:l

I have paid as little as $45.00 for one with a broken neck , and also as little as $61.00 for one that was New, with everything included. The biggest thing, if It is not bricked, is getting the battery to work. Good luck and let us know what happens.                RWM
