What should a 2 week old Pleo rb do
« on: September 06, 2013, 03:25:32 PM »

Had my pleo Rb(Theo) for 2 weeks, he is awake 2 hours every day getting lots of fuss and food, I'm not sure if he is reacting to me or just on a loop doing his thing I don't think he knows I'm there, he walks of table, can't teach him anything, he doesn't seem that bothered about food either, maybe I'm worrying over nothing, maybe it's cause he's young, what do you think  :dino-chase:

Nothing to worry about Theo is just YOUNG, I did not teach or try to teach Baby Ruth or ANY of my Pleo Rb even their name for months, and they were adults. Mayby I am slower then most, but I felt no hurry, just enjoyed my Pleo babies. They have to be mature enough to want to learn and be capable to learn as well. They also have to be happy and in the right mood,

When I did first try to teach Baby Ruth her name, I was very frustrated as it took forever and her DNA said, Intelligent, so I thought, it must be me, or am I doing something wrong...? Then I quit worrying about it, had her well fed, in a well lit room in the early afternoon, and she was not tired and I had her attention, ( Very important) and lo and behold, she was ready to learn her name. After that, I taught her another trick and she learned it right away, Then a couple of days later, nothing...she would not pay attention to what I was trying to teach her. She taught me she will learn when SHE is ready. so do not push.  ;D

Theo is very very young still, Do you know what battery cycle he is on, if on every day for two hours, that would be about the 14Th cycle, is that right? If so, then he is ahead of my PC and I have had her since FEB or early March.................but I do not interact with her every day..She is still a baby. Is theo a Juvinile or Mature Adult?  I do not try to even teach my Pleos anything till Mature Adult, but remember I am slower than most..................hope this helped some, I know others will respond as well. Sending hugs to you both from all the REdwoods Pleo Township. P0:) P:D P:-* P:-* P|-) P:o P0:) :bouquet1: :dino-chase:  RWM :cat-hug:

Walking off the table, looping behaviour and unwillingness to learn sounds very much to me like the room is too dark. Have you tried a brighter room.
