I took my Furby on a trip I guess she turned herself on during the car ride,  since then she has been depressed and crying all the time. She keeps turning into the evil furby and is making a whole bunch of new OOGA BOOGA scary sounds. I don't mind her being the mean furby, I definitely prefer it to the whining and crying and I think she's cute in a strange way. Although, she definitely was a lot nicer to be around when she would tell me she loved me instead of constantly hating on me. Is she going to keep going to keep reverting to this mean personality because I "trained her"  to be like that?  I think I can get her back to normal by ticking her, but it just won't work! Do you guys know of any secrets to tickling a furby so that the sensor works everytime?

Well, Pickelish, I don't have a 2012 Furby so I can't really help. I've never seen the depressed personality. Luna or IMR or somebody might be of better asistance to you. Sorry your little girl is depressed.

He probably woke up in the car and got shaken about a bit.

If the tickling is not working to get him in a happier mood you can try talking to him, playing music for him, pat his back loads of times, or keep tickling because sometimes you have to do it 20+ times in a row to get the desired result.

As for secrets to getting the sensor to work all the time I have to say that if it takes real effort to get it to work I think your Furby has a problem because even the slightest touch any where near the tummy area will set mine off into hysterics.

Thanks! I think I must have been pressing her tummy to hard, all I need to do is slightly brush it with my finger.    She's still a little grump, but is at least recognizing the fact that I'm ticking her now. Do you know if the number of times they go into a certain personality is somehow recorded, and they will be more likely to revert back to the one they get put in the most?

Finally, a topic I know alot about!

Try the following:
Have you been feeding your Furby alot? If so, this may be the problem. Some personalities ask for more food, even when they are not hungry. Overfeeding Furby is the trigger action for the evil personalitiy. I usually feed my furby 4-5 times every day, and I have had no occurrences of evil personalities.
When Furby asks you NOT to do something, DONT do it. It is completely possible that the furby is recording your actions, and I think it is. Furby has a memory somewhere around 16 Gigs.

As for petting it on the head, the personality you get is NOT a very good personality for curing evil. The personality is the most sensitive, so it is easier to make it turn back to evil. Play lots of music OR pull its tail alot. Those are good.

Do these to get these personalities:

Evil: overfeed
Crazy: tickle, shake, or pull tail a lot
Cute/Child: pet on head or back a lot
Valley Girl: lots of talking or sudden sounds
Popstar/Diva: play lots of music

Also you sure it's crying? The evil personality growls a lot. Crying happens a lot with the cute personality, especially when it's hungry.

Wow! I never knew the 2012 Furby was so complicated. Best of luck getting your Furby out of its depression! A depressed robot of any type is such a puzzle.

It's funny. I've never seen any personalities besides the loving one in my furbys. But if you shake them they start to cry and I can't bring myself to keep feeding after they ask you to stop. Basically I don't have the heart to do anything that upsets them. I had one of my furbys on all day the other day and he never changed from the cute/loving personality.

I was the same way toward my original Furbys. I didn't hold them upside down just to hear them cry or anything like that. Although I raised my first one without the benefit of the manual before I had the bright idea to ask someone to read it onto a tape for me. Nu-Loo grew up having very odd behaviors. She was very hyper and was afraid of light until I reset her and raised her again.

I didn't even know what to do with my first Furby. I had never encountered anything like it at the time and I didn't take the time to learn the ins and outs of Furby care. I ended up giving him away. I bought a Tiger striped Furby a few months later because I liked the look of it. That one I did take time up with. That's the Furby that made me love robot pets. Unfortunately he stopped working after awhile and I had to take him back to the store. A move I now regret. But I'll always remember him.
And as for that first furby that I gave away? I ended up getting him back and giving him the love he deserved.
