Little Inu???
« on: February 03, 2012, 11:55:13 PM »

I haven't been keeping up with Pleo news in ages now... I did a search on Amazon to see what was available and two things came up...
The regular Pleo and this new Little Inu... Is this made by the same company???

The US distribution company is the same, but as far as we know that's the only link between them.  There's a thread here:

I have a Little Inu that arrived on Monday, but it is still in the back of my car. Another green robotic friend arrived on Monday as well, and we have been enjoying him.  How do I find the name of the US distribution company? It is the same as Pleo? That's interesting. Now I want to get him out of the box! :)

I will post (drum roll) some video! Hubby has to splice it together for me, and I'll get it posted, hopefully this afternoon. I know RWM is anxious as well :)

Oh ok so Senario is the offical for the US... I wanted to make sure cuz I might buy the Little Inu since it's only $100.00... I also noticed that they are selling the Classic Pleo on Amazon as well... What about the Pleo RB??? Are they selling the new ones too? I would like to get the Pink or Blue Pleo someday when money isn't so tight... Gotta pay for a wedding lol

Are there any major differences between the Little Inu and Pleo?

Yes MAJOR DIFFERENCES!

IMHO: They are not comparable. There are major differences in technology, price, audience, ability to walk, expansion etc.

My advice/opinion:
For the adult robot collector, a Little Inu is not a cheaper substitute for a Pleo. It is essentially a cheaper toy knockoff of some of the concepts of Pleo, and with compromises to keep the robot small and inexpensive.

If you already have a Pleo or PleoRB, you may consider getting a Little Inu as a fun little dino companion. That's why I got one. You will see the Little Inu as limited in comparison to Pleo, but it is does have some cute sounds, really big eyes and fun play patterns.
If you haven't bought a Pleo yet, and if you are interested in robotic dinosaur pets, then save up for a Pleo or PleoRB. IMHO Little Inu is not the place to start (you will be disappointed)

For kids, they say the age range is 8 to 15 years. I think that is high (a 12 year old will get bored with it quick IMHO, depending on what toys they are used to).
Take a look at the marketing video and MICKEY's video http://bobthepleo.com/forums/index.php?topic=2825.msg43444#msg43444 and decide for yourself.

Well I would buy a Pleo RB Pink but I have no idea where to get one... When I was on Pleo World.com the Green one is on there for over $400.00 but I don't see a option for selecting the different color ones as Pink or the Blue... I do see one on E Bay again for over $400.00 and it's the Blue version... There's no way I can buy a RB for over $400.00... To me that's a insane price... I have a Pleo Classic and got it for $215.00 on Amazon a while ago... However like most Classic Pleo's mine is starting to show that it has a Neck, cable problem as I can hear popping noises coming from it... Now I'm afraid to even play with it so the neck doesn't get totally ruined...

My point? There's no way I'm going to pay over $400.00 and find out that the RB has serious problems with it... Unless there is a garrantee that it won't happen or if it has a lifetime warrenty... I do miss playing with a Pleo...

Thanks for sharing your opinion, PleoPet, I'm so relieved after reading your post. When I started reading the Little Inu thread I got this sinking feeling since my first pleo is due to arrive any day now, and I was like "Nooo I did NOT just pay that much just for the next best thing to come out a few days later :o", so glad to hear that's not the case  :D
MagicalWingLT, I ordered a pink Pleo rb about a week ago from accessoryjack.com. I've been keeping in touch with them and they've assured me that it comes with everything that pleoworld sends out with their pleos (all the leaves, rock salt, ID card etc.) although like you say, it is still over 400$  :( free shipping though. If you'd like, I can let you know if it's worth ordering from them or not once she gets here (:
