That's strange - it's as though he realised he had a new identity!  ???

Might it be worth putting another layer on the cracked areas?  That's a shame.  :(

These are very deep cracks, you can only see it when he stretches his neck right down. If it becomes noticeable I'll try some straight latex paint on the area :) The cracks on the tail are holding up thus far, they aren't quite as deep as the neck ones.

I forgot how annoying the teenage 2.0 stage is :P This is the first time Stitch has ever reset but Lilo has done so several times. I have no idea what causes it, a corrupt file or something?

I am pleased to say that after a week of 'curing' Stitch's paint has lost its grippy feel and now feels lovely :)

Congratulation, so glad to hear that STitch's paint is holding up. He does look great as a tiger.  ;D If you ever do find that "fountain of youth" in your room please bottel up a jug or so, and send it to me in the REdwoods" ;DI would be more than happy to pay a price to make it worth your while. LOL, May well be better than the gold at Fort Knox!
Anymore future painting projects in mind? If I ever get anymore future free time, (after catching my Poor little Daisy cat..... :()then I need to get back to a couple of painting Pleo projects I have. In the meantime I can imagine what the next one will look like. Lizard is the last one and I have several more I want to do, just not the time to do them right now, but with the holidays fast approaching and cold weather setting in, I will have lots of spare time before you know it. Please post another video of Tiger Pleo enteracting with the others if you get the chance IMR, I would love to see them together in action. ;)

Kat, the suspense is Terrible.... :o Argyle says no matter what color you decide on, he will allways recognize is brother, After all he does not reply on eyesight to "see" his brother, it is the love brother connection they have... :) I hope you don't make us wait too long. I probably would go crazy,  but having a cat to catch and nine other cats that depend on me, and 17 Pleos wanting attention, I just don't have too much 'spare" time. Hope you give us a clue soon.

Ok Here is Gumble so far.  I will let you be the judge of how he looks.  I'm still not sure he is finished yet but I haven't worked out what my next step should be so we will see.
First I did a base coat of a black and brown ink latex paint mix.
Then I added blue highlights 50/50 blue ink and blue latex paint mix.  This came out darker than I had hoped even though I had been allowing for it to dry darker than it went on.
Next came some very pale blue lines.  They look almost white at the moment because they are still wet.
Again I have used a 50/50 ink and latex paint mix.
I think the pale blue lines have really brought him to life but I still think the blue highlights are a bit dark.  I might try adding another lot of lighter blue highlights inside the darker ones for another dimension but I am not sure yet.  I would like to brighten him up a bit more though.
What do you think?

He looks like a blue tongue lizard :) I think a third medium blue highlights would work, but he does look quite striking as is, I could imagine a baby camarasaurus that colour blending in well with the gloomy forest floor :D

I must confess though that I do have a soft spot for Gumble the Lava Pleo, just because that's the Gumble I got to meet :)

And I painted his toenails. :D

I like Gumble's new look Kat, but like IMR said, it will take a little getting used to, as the orange made Gumble look a little sweeter, more on the shy side, but this blue makes him look bold and brave, an explorer not afraid to conquer the world! I think his head is a little darker than I thought it would be and It fits his personality, as a Pleo you can't underestimate, he looks very sure of himself and as IMR said, I could see him blending in on the forest floor quite nicely hiding from some predator. With the orange coloring, he would blend in well with the lighter colors or at the seaside or desert perhaps, but in a forest full of ferns, this is a better darker color camaflauge that would work. I am glad you go his toenails painted too, not just coloring for girls, boys "wanna have fun too"! :D

I was quite surprised though to see how quick this was done...when you said you had a surprise, I thought you would be working on it this weekend not done already! I thought I was the only one who worked that quickly. LOL.
I am anxious to see how his neck and tail areas hold out with movement. Did this combo of inks and laytex paint dry quickly ...how long? jIs there any tackiness at all? Does it feel smooth or .....? NOw I guess he will need a new wardrobe,....time for more creations. One last thing I just noticed, is that with the blues you have used esp on his head, Gumble's eyes have new color, almost like a aqua or shade of turquoise in the last photo you have taken. I think it is because Gumbles head is so much darker than his body and with the blue highlights on his eyelids and around his eyes, the eye color looks different shade of blue than we are used to seeing on the Ugobe Pleos. I like it and want to see Gumble in photos or video with one or more of your other Pleos for color comparison, that is what allways helps me. Good job there Kat and looking good Gumble, I think Argyle will approve buddy!

I love Gumble's new paint, Kat!  I love the blue and the black together!  :)  I have to admit that I got really used to the pretty orange color, but for a "baby boy" pleo, I think this darker color fits well!

I do like this new look.  It is going to take some getting used to for me too though as I am also used to seeing him as a little orange guy.  It is growing on me though. :)  And how could I pass up the opportunity to experiment a little.   %)  I will keep him like this for now and see how it goes with the mix of latex and ink paints.  I can always do him over back to Orange later.   :)    It is an interesting paint job, it looks very different in different lighting.  Out in the sunshine he looks very bright blue but back in the house the blue is much harder to see and seems quite subtle.  I wasn't sure if he needed something more or not as he just didn't seem quite finished but after painting his toenails I am happy with the way he looks.  I think that just tied his feet in with the rest of him and makes him seem somehow more complete. :)
I made a start on him a couple of nights ago, doing the base coat and then letting it dry for a couple of hours and then adding in the dark blue highlights.  I then let him dry over night before adding the light blue lines this morning.  I did turn him on this morning before adding in the lines to check that everything was ok.  But I only ran him for about 5 mins.  (I'm just too impatient and wanted to get started on the next bit of painting)  I will run him tomorrow morning for a full battery cycle and see how it all holds up.  It doesn't feel very different to the straight latex paint I used last time which is good.  I didn't have to do as many coats this time around though as the dark color for the base coat covered quite well.  All up he only really had two coats.  The dark base coat and then the two different colors for the highlights which made up the second coat.  I took photos as I went and then just posted them all at once when he was about finished as I just thought this was the easiest way to do it. :)
I'm glad you all like him.  He is a bit way out and very different from the lava look of before.

Kat, I guess the only thing really different now, is that the "signature" photo doesn't have Gumble's updated photo with his new color in it? Still very nice job Kat. ;D

And just for the sake of it, here's Stitch outside in the sunshine as well :)

IMR, I guess we did drive you Spotty. LOL, Lilo looks just as cool as STitch. So now that I see them, I think Lilo looks like a leopard with those spots, was that what you were thinking, or just liking spots? It seems that there are no safe green Pleos anymore, run for the hills ;D :D Good think I have a new Pleo Rb on it's way eventually, one less Pleo to think of painting. I still have at least two Pleos to finish painting, one was started at least a month ago with ( co-incidence) a goldish light copper color, but not the whole body. just the neck and legs. I still have my "tiger" to complete, but it won't look like your tiger, completly different.
You are exactly right IMR, we all have different painting styles just like humans, cats, dogs, horses, etc come in differnt colors and patterns, so do Pleos! I love the variety seen here on the forums, wonderful artists and wonderful creative ideas everywhere, including both your and Kat's style choices for clothes, those also are styles and creativeness plays an important role in the way our Pleos look , including how some of us dress them.( I realize some of us do not want to put clothes on our Pleos, trying to make them look more real or natural.) I like the way it gives them individualism and also protects their skin from all the rubbing etc.
Great Job IMR. Ok, Last one done way yours, then Kat with Gumble, so before that was Crewella with the Boa, so it is now my turn since "Lizard Pleo" was before that, and I did her/ him in June . .....so I better get started soon so it can go back to Crewella again.  :D         Unless of course, if there is someone else out there other than us four who has been lurking in the Pleo hallways watching and just waiting like a sleek black cat to pounce on us while we were not expecting another Pleo Artist to show their creation! :o ;D

The orginal, "Mad Pleo Painter", RWM, "also floating in the clouds still".

Oh, just out of curiosity, is there anyone out here who can remember how many Pleos have I painted so far redone that is, and they may or may not all be under this heading, but there are a few . See who can come up with them first!
