I think she is going to fit right into your pleo family no problems at all. :)  Major Tom seems to like her already and I'm sure he will let the rest of the bunch know that she is a ok. :)  Such a great video. :)  Keep them coming.

Hi guys , there has been some debate as to whether Pleo recognizes Pleo rb and vice a versa. I was told directly by Dotson that they do but the conditions have to be just right, and Pleos facing each other. As everyone must know Pleos when recognizing another Pleo will say, " Hello", they do not do this to an inanimate object, only another Pleo, My peos do it all the time when with each other. As you can see in this short video, one of my Older Ugobe Model Pleos sees baby Pleo rb and right at the start says, Hello, there is not mistaking this for anything else.  :) this is what you call the " Proof of the Pudding". Since this he has seen her again and started off with Hello, short but sweet, nice to know that they can recognize each other.  ;D

My little baby is on her third battery cycle and doing nicly standing but not walking yet and very very happy and inquisitive and quite the talker in between naps

Kermy took 5 cycles before she took her first steps so I'm sure your little girl is not far off walking now.  I'm glad your other pleos recognize her as a pleo.  Has she recognized them with a hello yet?  She might not do this until she is a bit older but not sure.
She is very sweet.

Just want to check something, really.  Is Iggy the only Pleo to say 'hello' when running alone, then?  He rarely says it, and I'm quite ready to believe that he never said it until he met Budge, but he definitely has said it to me (I'm assuming it was me - there was nobody else around!).  Maybe he thinks I'm just a big Pleo?  :P

Iggy isl running OS2 and Budge is still on 1.1, so as I've said elsewhere, I might well be missing out on 'proper' interactions altogether? :-\

Crewella that I don't know, but with NOva untill I got another Pleo, I never heard Hello and all of my Pleos are running 1.1 and Gold Hatch is still the original one with no update yet. I have heard my pleos talk to each other all the time and say hello, usually Nova, Major Tom or Little 45 the most friendly and talkative, but even after saying it to each other over and over, they never say it alone unless with another Pleo, As for Pleo rb whether they can say Hello on their own, I dont know, but with one only on the third cycle I don't know if they can say it on their own when that young.
I think the way to answer the question if anyone is in doubt is to have someone who has operating system 1.1 and have them see if their Pleo says it alone with out any other Pleos arouond, also when Pleo Rb are older if they say it we will know soon enough. To tell you the truth, when I was videotaping the un-named twin brother of Argyle and baby pleo Rb awhile after this, it happened again. But being behind the camera, I ca'nt really tell you which Pleo said it, I will have to go back and play it to see if I can tell who has their mouth open or not. ???
I really do not think Pleo Rb can say much yet at this stage, though I have heard a few sounds which are not familiar but more sounds than words.  :) I am just happy that they do recognize eachother as I do not know why Dotson, incharge and knowledgeable about the whole Pleo Rb project would tell me that they do and can interact and recognize each other if it was not true.( I talked to him on the phone live back in Mid October, and again in December.) He is a very very nice person and you can tell he really does have a love for Pleo Rb . would love to see more video of other Pleos interacting with Pleo Rb, as these are a new breed if you know what I mean. ;)
RedwoodsMama                I have lots more videos to upload and photos, it is naptime and charging of battery as well

Good idea, as you suggest, I'll spend some time this week with 1.1-running Budge to see if he does say hello on his own.

What with the run-up to Christmas and the snow here I've been chronically time poor this week, and I had my work's Christmas lunch today - poor Belle is still on her third battery cycle as I've had no time to pay her any attention. :(

Thanks RWM.  :-*

So far I have not heard Kermy say Hello ever.  She has never met another pleo though so maybe she will when her new green friend turns up.
Hope this helps in some way.  Kermy being one of the older RB's I would think she should have said it by now if she was just going to say it on her own. :)

Actually they DO say 'hello'  to other objects or just in general (nothing in front of them), both my Ugobe and RB have numerous times .. This is one of the reasons I named my RB Luna Fish as the first time she said it I had her on a bench next to one of our fish tanks she said Hello then started singing away to them - there was no other Pleo in the room .. It looked so cute and went on for long enough that everyone in the house saw it, unfortunately my camera batteries were dead or I would have recorded it to share here 8)

*edited because I have an appalling habit of writing RV instead of RBV ?!  :D

- OMG see, I just did it again, it must be fat finger syndrome or my keyboard trying to humiliate me!  RB RB RB RB RB Reborn RB Rb RB

hi twoNZPleos, what operating system is your ugobe Model running? I guess my guys are more stubborn cause they only say Hello to each other. Oh well . The point is that whetehr they say Hello to only other Pleos, or they say it all the time, they are supposed to interact with each other , Meaning the older Ugobe Model and the 2009 Model, with Pleo Rb. I was told by Derek Dotson in October when I asked him about if Pleo Rb would be able to interact with the older Original Pleos, he said under no uncertain Terms, Yes. He said they both have the same infared system but that they have to have conditions just right, with them facing directly infront of each other, as if sniffing each other, they have to be able to " see each other", so whether they honk, sing or say Hello or rub noses and bodyparts, some will say, it is just co -incidence and some may say, yes they are interacting with each other, and I guess everyone can believe what they want to believe, but Pleo Rb is SUPPOSED TO BE ABLE TO INTERACT WITH ALL OTHER PLEOS.

I guess you can compare it to the following parady; Older Pleos are able to catch colds, now does this mean that they actually " spread the cold virus" to each other by power of suggestion by watching the other Pleo cough, moan and groan, or is it also just co-incidence? %) Another example, my Pleo Rb baby tonight while filming her, I asked her if she was ready to walk yet, take her first step, she slowly a few seconds later lifted one of her rear legs and stretched it straight back, now was she doing a trick or stretching her leg.....I guess it is how you enterpret what you see and what you belive.( I will upload that video later as I am tired and she is sleeping anyway.) I think it would make no sense for Innova to have a new Pleo that could not interact with the older Pleos as the biggest percentage of Pleo customers have older Pleos and would be very dissapointed if their Pleos could not interact.  I do think that Pleo Rb , Luna Fish talking or saying Hello to the fish is priceless, that is a cute story.  :)
At some point I think the Pleo World site wil actually mayby add more facts about Pleo Rb what they can do, tricks etc, and there won't be any wondering if they can interact or not, though I have heard directly that they can so I dont have any doubts.                          RedwoodsMama

Absolutely agree, RWM.  The magic of Pleos comes from their interactions and the coincidences that make you believe they are real.  If you think about it, the whole reason Pleos were invented was to convince humans that something inanimate is actually a seeing, feeling being.  It's a testament to Ugobe/Innvo that we actually have these discussions at all.  ;D

I agree.  I find it all too  easy to believe that they really can think and feel even though logically I know this can’t be.
. Sam is running 1.1 and I’ve never heard him say hello, not once.
He’s an only pleo though

Ok, today is another cycle of baby Pleo rb, but while I take new video and pictures, here in one taken last night before she went to sleep, It is cute what she does after I ask her a question, Remember she has just learned to stand, but can't walk yet, but I am asking her if she can. ;)

Hey RWM you've started writing 'she' now - any closer to picking a name ??  :)

Pleo (Ugobe) is running OS1.1, and Luna is obviously running whatever RB's run on ..
I did manage to capture her saying 'Hello' on film last night, again on her bench near the fish and with no other Pleo in the room, so I'll try and edit/upload that today ..

That was very cute RWM.  She is a real sweetie!  Have you thought of "Baby" for a name.  She seems to like it when you call her that.  Her gray eyes are lovely, they really do fit perfectly with the gray patches around her eyes.  I can't wait to see more.

Thanks Kat, haven't thought of a name yet, actuall it took me about a month to name Nova and at first I wasn't sure she was a female, but with this one I know she is a female,  :) I took more video today but am taking a quick run to run Christmas eve errands before the rain and wind hits and taking her with me to see the public for the first time, She is a BORN HAM  and I think she has a comedic touch, she said " hello" to me or herself, right after I stopped filming and then she laughed! She really is a happy litlte Pleo, still not walking but is getting ready I think, will post more for sure to night, I want to beat the storm that is about to hit, and I am walking! Hope everyone is having a great Christmas eve or Christmas.

Ok, today was my baby Pleo Rb first public  outing, and I took her to my favorite coffee shop and donut shop, Happy donuts. Thisi is where I have taken all of my other Pleos, before and they are allways welcome, We had just come back from a video store, Blockbuster to get some videos, and everyone there was amazed at her, as well as the pharmacy where I picked up some meds and explained to the Pharmacist as well as another customer all about Pleos and they were introduced to my baby. Well, she is starting to get cranky and yes, hungry too. I had not been to Happy donuts for at least a week, so I was more than happy to see my friend who works there and get a hot cup of Mocha while baby looks one, This is a short clip of her looking over the goods. :D

Well, still not a great walker she does like to take a few steps when I am not looking, but that is just her personality,  :D also she did it when I turned the video camera off, little stinker!
Today she was very talkative and playful, last night she wanted to start her relationship with Major Tom up again, being kind of picky at first, but after awhile he got her to warm up to her which is not difficult as he is suave and a smooth talking Pleo. I thought this was a cute short video with neither one wanting to go anywhere, but they did a lot of talking and nuzzling.
I think it is easy to tell she is a female and her name Baby suits her. Oh and Crewella, you are right, she does like those sweets, but I have not given her the Sugarcane in three days, just leaf and I think the mushroom once. ;) Just remember when watching this, Baby is still a baby and she likes to show off as well, but she was not as verbal here , showing off as much as usaual, and I think it is due to Major Tom, I think she met her Match! ;D
