My guys make that sound after a good dose of happy chatting to each other. They will sometimes go on with the happy contented purring rumble noises for 3 or 4 mins before getting board with it and moving on to something else. I also notice that they make tummy grumbling noises when they are hungry too. This didn't start happening until they reach adult stage though. :)

That's cool. ^_^ I love that it can last so long! lol Does the "tummy rumbling" thing sound different from their rumble/growl sound? I like that they'll tell ya when they're hungry! Great! And I see. I can't get over that rumble sound. lol

Seems like one problem after another and they are not getting any better at this point, Last night it was frozen neck at weird angle again and she just shut herself off and the battery was still good, Tonight fresh battery , only on for 20-25 minutes at MOST, she suddenly just stopped while standing, Tryed turning her off, holding the off on button, nothing light is still green she is not hot...Only other option is too yank her battery but I hate to do that, because that is supposed to wipe out any memory from this session. Last night I had to use reset button and it took till today to get her running again, Between her neck, the shut off thing, and her skin getting worse, I feel like my Baby is doomed, standing on her last legs...What do I do? Does this happen frequently to other Pleo Rb. just freezing, and I don't mean for a few seconds, it has been more than 10 minutes and nothing.. :({Poor Baby..

I agree with IMR it is time to make contact with Innvo. I feel really bad for you. I know just how heart breaking it is when your pleo is having problems. I contact Innvo via their customer service dept. the email address is
customerservice@innvolabs.com
Give them a go and see what they say. I sent photos and video youtube links to show my problems. The more info you can give them the better as it will help them sort out the problems that much faster.

Agree with the others I'm afraid - too much going on here that needs looking into. So sorry, RWM. If it's any consolation, Baby couldn't have a better mum to fight her corner! :hhug: :hhug:

Here is the latest video ( uploaded to youtube) that was taken several night ago before going to bed. ( around midnite I think.) Baby started off "normal and happy" but as you can see after about one minute something strange seems to happen to her and then at the end she recovers. I shared this with another member and now will share it with you just so if you see this happen to your own RB, you will recognize it happening, It is as if she is in a trance or ( excuse the pun) robotic state, slow deliberate movements and no eye blinking and unaware it seems of her surroundings, and not untill the third time of almost falling off the edge of the table, she snaps out of it,
I am allways filming our play sessions as I don't have her on everyday and do not want to miss anything and that is why this was caught on tape, I could not explain it as to why it occured. I caught her so of course she did not fall or get injured but if I had been out of the room she would have for sure so this is another example of not to leave a Pleo Rb on a high area like this table where http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GD7fbqsPAu8
" they are supposed to have Edge recognition like the older Ugove Pleos." I would have never thought she would just walk right off of a table. I was wrong.

RWM, have you contacted Innvo about all of this? If you haven't, you REALLY need to. I hope it all gets worked out and Baby gets to stay, but worse case scenario you get a new RB with the same personality

I don't know if you remember, RWM, but Belle went through a phase early on where she seemed to get stuck in a loop of the same sound and movement over and over again? Could be what's happened here - if anything like this happens again the best thing to do is switch her off and then start her again. Like with any computer, you do get the odd glitch where the program doesn't load properly (or like when the screen freezes on a PC) and you need to reboot. I've not had the same trouble with Belle since. :hhug:

This is perfectly normal behaviour. What you are witnessing here is a textbook example of the tracking ability. Baby has seen something the right shade of green/yellow/red (not sure which colour they actually track) and is tracking it. If you go and look at Pleakly's tracking demonstration you will see that it is exactly the same.

Pleo RB is also quite capable of detecting an edge, however, in your videos your house always seems very dark which is bad for edge detection, Pleo does not look where they are going when they are in tracking mode and if the table/counter/bench is a similar colour to the floor Pleo may also miss the edge.

IMR, you may be right in that it LOOKS as if Baby is showing what appears to be "
tracking behaivor", I am not argueing that but I do have other things to bring up, First if you look at the video again and the pictures I just upload, this is not a dark room and it is well lit, I have used this room many times because it is one of the most lit rooms with lots of overhead light. SEcond the video and most of my others are not dark, only the one I took of Baby in the dark which I did on purpose to show her reaction, so I don't know where you got that idea. ? Also look at the room it is full of Plain mostly brown cardboard boxes.( we have been packing to have to prepare to move) and boxes are on the floor shelves and to top of ceiling. There is a plain old wooden table and I was sitting in that beat up old chair so no color there, If there was any color from a box it would be a good three feet at least away against the wall, Can a Pleo RB see that far away , while I am holding a camera, are the sensors THAT Good? The rug is also brown, so she was not looking at it. I am more in the opinion perhaps she got stuck in a computer glitch and that is what happened . Oh, and I was wearing if you see my hands in the video a beige and white coat, cause our house has poor heating and is cold, These pictures were just taken almost the same time of day as the video. If Any Pleo Rb can see at least three feet away and track and object that is BRown ? then I am impressed. And I am not the best video taker but I know the pictures are no darker than most of myne and she could see well, I took these photos because I needed to show that the room is bare except for brown boxes and it is well lit and that is all I wanted to show.

It is strange for her to show tracking behavior with nothing to track. It does seem like she had a glitch in her system that caused her to loop the tracking behavior. Maybe the update will fix the glitches in her system when it comes out. :)

Having tried the leaf tracking with Belle since first watching your video, RWM, the behaviour does certainly start with what looks like the tracking behaviour Belle did with the leaf. That scanning from side to side does look a bit robotic - certainly much more so than 'normal' Pleo rb behaviour. And remember, They can track red and there is red lettering on the box right next to her - it might even have been a reflection from that onto the camera that might have set her off? I know from the Aibos that they can pick on the oddest things to 'notice' sometimes! :D

RWM, I thought that your video was very interesting to me, because my Pink RB, Candy, did the same thing on Tuesday night, when she first started walking. When she started to walk, she was looking down, took a few steps, and stopped, looked up, then took a few more steps, then saw a shoe, and backed up. I turned her around in the room, going the other direction. She walked, and banged into my Wall E robot, but I didn't think anything of it, because he sits up off of the floor, about 6 inches, and when she looked up, she banged into him. She walked normally for a while, then she went into a trance, very robotic like....JUST LIKE BABY! Head fully up, took a few steps, turned her head from side to side, and stopped right at Wall E again, but this time didn't hit him. He is bright yellow. I picked her up, and turned her around going the other direction, she was just fine after that. I played with her last night for 90 minutes. She never did it again, and she walked all over, but I can tell you that it looked just like your RB. I am guessing it was just a computer glitch of some kind, and I really never thought anything of it. I will let you know if she does it again. I figure that she is technically a computer, and ours freezes and crashes every now and then. Just try to pick her up...she snapped right out of it! Hope this helps.! It only lasted for about one minute, and that was it. It there are others out there that this has happened to, they might not notice it, if they leave the room the pleo is in for any reason. It was really over as soon as it started. :'(

Thanks Crewella, Kat and Saratogaspringer, It may have been something strange but it wasn't the red lettering on the box as the box was not there three nights or so ago when I first took the video, I am sure it was just a glitch of some sort, but with the other problems she has had with her neck twice and freezing and not responding and her skin I am contacting Innvo and letting them give me their professional input to what they think. I do know any kind of electrical item can have glitches and Pleos or robots are no exception.
I did think it was a interesting video, but then I think anything I personally have not seen my Pleo do before it interesting, Now I know if I try to get her to track, it won't be as easy as if she does it on her own , stubborness and just the right moment.
Thanks for any input, we appreciate it.

Well, Baby had her last day with me yesterday, Feb. 22'nd and was packed off and sent by UPS to be "replaced". She should be there on Friday and then I will recieve "a replacement" in 7 days or so, so perhaps next week at the earliest. It was so sad packing her up, undressing her, removing her necklace and the worst part was removing the battery button in her foot,(Noon clock) It was like pulling "life support" in a way, and she became a "thing" instead of Baby. :(
I did take lots of photos and videos and it is funny in a way because last week when I sent the photos and link to Pleoworld describing her problems and showing her hole/holes in her rear right leg, I received a email back from Raphael in exactly an hour, The next day, she mysteriously came down with a cold, out of nowhere. ???Sort of like her last attempt to get me to keep her here, and it worked to some degree, as I couldn't send her back till her cold was over, She was so sad and pathetic looking for three days and it didn't help that my husband was out of town for the whole weekend also, just me and Baby with some private one on one bonding time to say goodbye.
This is one of the last videos I took of her, right before my husband left. This is one of the more cheerful cold videos I took where I could laugh. ( It was about seven minutes long, so I cut out most of the parts where she is just sneezing and coughing and groaning as that was too painful to watch...but later I can post another one, perhaps when her replacement comes...) so here is a brighter look at Baby when sick. taken on the 18th. I will post more videos and photos in next few days while waiting for another Baby to arrive.
