Thanks to a wonderful helpful person here on the forums I was fortunate enough to get a Gupi robotic guinea pig recently, the adult one not the baby. The cute little guy came all the way from the UK! Quite a trip for a little guinea pig so he was a bit peckish when he got here

(You charge him with a carrot).
A bit about Gupi, he can only be purchased in the UK, he can make 30 different sounds, has the ability to be put to sleep, he is endlessly attracted to his carrot which acts as a charger and a homing device and he is able to memorize a room and avoid obstacles. There is a short (read two minute) baby phase and he can be reset anytime. He does apparently have emotions but they aren't particularly evident.
I have to say he's quite a chipper little fellow, he's definitely a boy, but he doesn't yet have a name as I will be letting the children at school name him. His response to the carrot is excellent and his obstacle detection is really good. However he's a cheeky little thing, likely to get himself lost under the bed, or end up behind my desk and in all other manner of hard to reach places

Anyway here he is meeting the gang, unfortunately Pleakley's battery ran out just before I started filming, and Stitch's battery needs replacing so he kept stopping and starting but Gupi on the other hand was bright and chirpy.
For a cheap robot, less than $30 plus postage he is quite an amusing little thing.
