hi all,
Today ive received an email from pleoworld.com about the choices of colour for pleo2010. They have listed 5 different colour. Blue tan, green smoky, green green, green tan and red. Each comes with a pleo picture. They all look so fabulous. My fav pleo colour is blue tan . A blue sauropod

I like the blue... but I wish it was a little darker... closer to the eye color. I really like the red ones too.

Ok I ended up voting: red/tan, blue/tan, green/smoke, green/ten, green/green. BUT only because I think the blue looks silly with the tan base, if they had made it blue with a dark blue base or vice versa, blue would have had my vote for sure. If it weren't for the fact that Ugobe's were green and I'd like mine to say very clearly 'I am different' I would have chosen a green.

I should have written down what I had voted for because now I've forgotten the final order - I personally found it hard to choose. Blue is my favourite colour but it just didn't blend as nice with the tan base - I was thinking if it had been the smoky base it might have blended a little better. The red with the yellow eyes is very striking - not quite as cuddly looking as the current version but very cool. I would love a blue Pleo - or maybe a red one - or ........ maybe both! Yeah, both - that would be great.  Can't wait to see what the final colour pick will be.

Wow, this was harder than I thought it would be. Blue would have been first if it wasn't so electric-looking, but I went with what I thought looked best. I also want to note that I once learned in Color Theory that only 2 percent of the world truly love a lot of green. I thought I was one of those people until now.

I like the 2 different-colored Pleos the best. I do not like the green Pleos. Green is way too plain for me, basically saying. The "red" Pleo's my favorite followed by the blue Pleo. Something about the "red" Pleo that I'm just liking alot. I didn't notice the yellow eyes in the "red" Pleo until it was mentioned here. lol I really, really hope they choose "red" or blue. And I chose the 3 green Pleos green with the smoke "base", green with the tan "base" and green with the green "base". The more green it got the less I liked it.

Derek did email me about the color poll today.  He is also very interested to hear any comments on the color choices.  I passed on a couple of questions about possibly going with different eye colors for the different skins....  We'll see what he has to say!

And I'll pass on a summary of this topic to him when we finish the discussions.

 Hi, I got that email today too, and was excited about the chance to win a custom one. I voted on the Red/tan as first and the blue tan was a close second. It would be so neat to win one of these, may be the only way I get another Pleo ! :(if I don't .

I personally LOVE how the original Pleo looks very organic. I would be dissapointed and would not buy an eccentric looking pleo. That is why I chose this order:

Green Smoke
Blue Tan (Odd...I HATE blue, too!)
Red Tan
Green Tan
Green Green

Although, I do admit I love the blue, and the red is cool too. The red also looks somewhat organic. If Jetta does wild colors only, I will not be buying one of those pleos. I will however buy an organic, life-like looking Pleo. Preferrably kept as close looking as the Ugobe one. Yellow eyes would be a lovely feature...If the blue pleo or red pleo was like the originals brother or sister or whatever, and they kept the original as well, I could see myself buying both in 2010.

i voted for the blue one. Ok he's not realistic, but who doesnt care, Pleo is a robotic life form, not a real life form the red one was my 2nd choice, but that colour look so brillian, maybe with a darker tone will be better

O.K. folks!  here's the scoop and another opportunity for us:

Derek says they plan on running the color poll for about three weeks, until the 22nd.  He thinks changing the eye color to compliment the new skin color is a great idea, and something they would love to do.  And he would like our help to figure out the best way to set up a SECOND or follow-up poll...  

Here are some of the ideas he was throwing out to get you all thinking:

• Take the top two colors from the first poll and give a few eye colors for each to pick from.
• Do a "matching game" where you have several skin colors and several eye colors and you pick a skin color and then pick the eye color you think goes best with it.

We can suggest different approaches for the poll, but either way he needs suggestions on eye colors to go with the skin colors, and we can still suggest possible skin colors not on the poll (i.e., a darker blue or tiger striped ).  But I need to funnel any suggestions his way in about a week, so that he has time to get something ready for when the first poll ends...

I kind of like the idea of a matching game - different skin colours and eye colours. What would really be great is a matching game with three options: top skin colour, base skin colour and the eye colour.  We could all vote for what would be our favourite customization(s).

Looking at the samples so far, I do like the blue top colour but would think it would look nicer with a bluer tinged base colour. Maybe using deeper blue like on the head and then adding the shading effects to darken it down a little. Might end up too blue though.

Now a tiger striped one like in your graphic would be just amazing. Not sure what my cat would think of that - he's not to sure about the current pleos as it is.

mweed can you ask Derek to include in the list a light brown/tan version of Pleo (in very realistic colours like the "classic green" one). i think it would be a great "natural" lifelike Pleo

I have a couple of eye color suggestions. Okay for the "red" Pleo pink or blue eyes. And for the blue Pleo blue or yellow eyes. But I don't know, about the 2nd "matching game" thing.

I have to agree with Gucci, "I'd rather have my baby, Sophie but with enhanced personality development and characteristics that I can help her achieve."  Angel and Dinomite are perfect the way they are.  I feel that they got it right the first time.

Realistically, they have to cater to a variety of people who reflect different preferences.  Personally I would not hesitate to buy the tiger stripped Pleo in your pic mweed of course with the enhanced personality development and characteristics.

Now all I have to do is convince them that the tiger stripped Pleo is the way to go.  Different, ususual and awesome!

I like the idea of the matching game, where I could choose the customization. I truly hope they keep similar colors, and don't force us to buy an eccentric irrelevant color exclusively. I like Pleo's original colors, but you could recognize a Jetta Pleo by something minute like yellow eyes. (Which btw did look great!)

I can remember getting Dallas 1 back in '07 and I can remember asking about customizing Pleo back then. I remember asking to have a natural brown looking pleo. One solid color would have also been sufficient. My preference is to have a main, natural looking, organic acting Pleo (that is relevant) [basically the same exact pleo with minor better changes], and if Jetta so desired, a secondary pleo. A more wild like, more colorful pleo. AKA the light blue, as I really did like that color....


Does Derek have an account on here? Or at the very least is Big Brother keeping tabs on what we are saying?

I wish they would do the tiger Pleo, I love it so so so much Although maybe an off white underside to prevent too much dirt showing

Saying that I have a soft spot for those big blue eyes Although I'd be quite happy with green eyes... yellow is very reptilian but I'm not so sure I'd like it... I'd be happy with a similar color to the current Pleo's as long as they had different color eyes... And although I chose red as the top pick if they had the option of a darker blue with a different color underside or a green with different colored eyes I would vote for them instead. The red is nice but not really... herbervorish
