Hey, that's interesting! Wonder why they're selling it?  ???

seller didn't give a reason for selling the pleo. i think it also said pleo runs on the mains  ???

i guess it must have been permanently plugged into the electrics to keep pleo going all the time the shop was open?  ???  pleo must've got very hot  :o especially exercising inside a greenhouse type casing  :(

Well, inside the case, no one could touch the pleo, so it could not respond to outside stimuli.  My guess is it is not a fully functioning pleo, running a skit.  It would be "off" until someone pushed the button on the front of the case.  Then it would most likely run a short 30-60 second skit where it moved it's head and tail and made noises.

I'm sure it stayed stationary (and may be physically held in place), and may not have all the internal components.  I know the non-working display models that they had in some stores that people could pick up and touch didn't have any circuitry inside.  Sharper Image is the only retailer I heard that had real functioning pleos as displays.

This item would be a good novelty, but don't expect to get a working pleo!

thank you mweed, :) i was assuming i'd be bidding on a fully functional little dino, ??? but, what you just wrote makes complete sense, ;D i love these forums, i haven't got much space, so i'm glad not to have wasted the space on a non working demo. he is lovely though, and if i'd got the space, would be a great novelty :)

All the Harvey Norman shops here that sold them had a proper Pleo as a store model, it was fun because I got to explain to them all about the hatching process, obviously reading the manual wasn't their strong point :P
