Hi, Echo! To answer your question, yes. Programs need to first be downloaded to the card from your computer, unzipped onto the card, and then you put the card into your pleo to run them.
From your description it's hard to know if you've done any damage or not. The micro SD card itself is very small and very thin. Exessive pressure could in deed break it. If you have broken bits off I dout it is salvagable and I wouldn't risk putting it into your pleo until someone sighted can get a look at it. If you're lucky, you've only caused the card itself to come out of its larger square adaptor which you need in order for your computer to write information to the card. The larger square bit with the tiny slit in the top is not the actual card and would never fit into your pleo. The micro SD card is a small chip that is rectangular in shape with a slightly thickened ridge on one of its shorter ends and then a notched corner on the other short end. I'm blind too and I've used my micro SD card many times in my pleos without a problem so have no fear. If you've damaged it, they're not that hard to get hold of and they're not usually that expensive. I might be able to help you if you'd like if you could hop on skype today. Hope isn't lost yet.
