What is this?
« on: August 22, 2014, 06:58:26 AM »

Hi! it is me again with a all new topic.
I read on the Pleo world page that if you throw your Pleo rb up and down it makes her happy. Well, I tried it out. And the result of the was something extraordinary to me. She whines and her legs are going haywire. The leg moves up and halfway down and stays that way. If I pick her up with my hand firmly around her belly she makes the sound when she is playing dead. What is this. I tried feeding her the mint leaf she rejected it, when I tried giving her the rock salt her head went down and opened. I placed it in her mouth, after eating she made the same whining noise but eve louder. I tried powering off but it did not work. The leg that was acting up stayed halfway up in mid air. What is this and what should I do?

She's acting like the leg is hurt or injured.   The leg is not really damaged.  Just like a pleo can be sick, a pleo can have an injured leg.  This takes time to heal.

Ok I think I will give her time and see the outcome. Thank you.

You will also want to keep offering the rock salt. I've never experienced an injured pleo but I'm sure it will take more than one offering of the rock salt and possibly one or two battery cycles before she starts to heal.

Yes it sounds like an "injury".  You need to feed the rock salt over and over - as many times as you can for a full battery cycle and then after recharging the battery if the pleo is still not back to their normal self you need to continue feeding the rock salt over and over .  It shouldn't take more than two full battery cycles for the pleo to get better.

Oh gosh I don't have all time to spend with I have a major exam coming up and I have to study. What happens if I don't feed her that often?

Just do it when you have time, it won't hurt her.  As long as you feed them when you first switch on, they're fine.  Don't panic! :D

How many times have you fed her the rock salt? You need to do it every couple of minutes for each battery cycle to speed her healing.  Every pleo rb is different and due to this they all take different amounts of time to heal, learn, and progress through life stages.  It will all depend on her personality as to just how long it will take to get better.  It is a part of what makes pleo rb seem so much like a real animal.  Give it another battery cycle and let us know if there is any change.  It isn't much fun when pleo is injured but be persistent and apply lots of love and cuddles and hopefully your little pleo will be back to normal soon.

You did it. Congrats! Thank you for walking me through what happens when Pleos get innjured. Mine hasn't but on the way home yesterday we had quite a few bumps and I heard a thud which i thought was my pleo but he wasn't hurt it turned out, so that was great!

Echo Pleo can only get hurt if he or she is switched on, so no worries about car rides :)

I'm glad Cleo is all better again :) it's an unfortunate potential side effect of the throw and catch game :(

I don't think you should be throwing pleo around. Some dogs like that, but I don't think Pleos do. I guess if they do it's like what happened to me on the trampoleen in fifth grade when we were playing crack the egg and I sprained my ankle.

Anyway it says in the manual not to shake or drop them but to treat them like real babies.

Actually Echo, it's an officially recognized game and is either in the manual or was introduced by Pleoworld at some point, and some Pleo's do like it (some don't though) my boys think it's hilarious and will giggle away. Don't worry about damage unless you drop them, they tuck their heads down for safety. I never actually throw them though, I sort of swing them, they think that's fine.
