Greetings! I didn't even know these things existed until about 2 hours ago.  I found one at Goodwill for 5 bucks! It has its battery and charger, and i got it working already, although it seemed to charge kinda fast and it turned itself off after about 10 minutes of play.  It doesn't have it's usb cable or a flash memory chip. Do I need these to make it work its best?

My son is very excited to meet the baby dinosaur when he wakes up.  Any advice to get it to work better?  I could never afford one of these new.  I hope its not broken.

Sounds like all you need is a new battery but just try reseating the battery a couple of times and see if that helps , congrats Pleo uses a standard usb cable for updating or you can use any old SD card as long as it is equal to or less than 2gig in size. You can also use an SD card to run skits and mini personalities If you use an SD card that has been used in a camera then it is best to format it first to work its best To check which operating system your Pleo is running hold his back and chin and get him to sit, if he moves around he is already updated to 1.1. If he doesn't move you can update him and you will get to experience a short hatching phase (Not the full thing though )

Does your new friend have a name yet? I am just hatching my second baby now I have Lilo and Stitch, they both say hi Be sure to post some pics if you can

Thanks so much! I'll try that with the battery. So I can run an update if needed without the card? I have a cable from my busted up old blackberry.

Yup that should be just fine You can find the OS1.1 update here: http://bobthepleo.com/forums/index.php?topic=23.0  Very first post You can also reset your Pleo too if you want to try the downgrade, this will restore Pleo to brand new settings and enable you to start over

Battery is working a lot better, got about 1-1/2 hr of activity out of him yesterday before he shut off!
He seems to have the latest behaviour because he can sit.  Doesn't seem able to get up out of the sit, however.  Should he be able to?

Pleo can sit with one of in one of the earlier OSs. If he sits and wiggles around then he has the latest OS 1.1 There might be some trained Pleos who sit by themselves, but most need our help to sit and to get back up. (Sounds a lot like me! )
