Butterfly in a Jar
« on: September 16, 2013, 11:56:39 AM »

Hello,

Came across this today. Really cute idea from this inventor. http://www.officeplayground.com/Butterfly-in-a-Jar-Blue-P1888.aspx Different colored butterflies in a jar! The butterflies are fake. And it's controlled by a wire. It's powered by batteries. Flutters around the jar and flutters its wings against the glass too some times.

Innvo Lab's not going anywhere. And if it's just to protect their precious, delicate skin, clothings okay. They shouldn't be dressed up like dolls.

You are right Kristy, so much nicer than a real butterfly, not worrying about the poor thing dying, Right as I was watching the video link, a white butterfly flew past my computer.  ;)  RWM :cat-hug:

A store near us had lightning bugs in a jar for summer, and now has bats in a lantern for halloween.

The lightning bugs were quite real looking.  It was basically a yellow-green LED on the end of the wire that would fade in and out and move around inside the jar.  At night in the dark seemed very realistic.  In bright sunlight it looks cheap and fake.   To power the led, it has a pretty visible black wire instead of the thin mono-filament the butterfly has.

Now the bat is just pathetic.  Seems like a cheap knock-off.  It's a small toy-looking rubber bat, and it spins very fast as it bounces around, and there's a blinking white LED in the base to add a "strobe light" effect.  You can only tell it's a bat when it stops moving, and then it just a bat hanging  in mid-air.

The butterfly is the best looking of them all IMHO.

Hmmmm I wonder if my local stores will have that bat one for Halloween. I wouldn't mind getting a visual of it.

I would love a robot bat in a jar/cage! The picture looks awesome but I've seen video of it in action and agree that it is disapointing.

Pity, would have loved it for Halloween.
