So i finally put the update on my sd card, and i tried to use it on a slightly used battery. Nothing noticeable happened. I also tried a full battery. No special sound, no different movement, just regular actions. How can i tell if it worked, and do i need to use the previous updates first?

 The card has 2 gigabytes of memory. It was all i could find on Amazon. I tried them. It didn't work.

Sounds to me like the update didn't work at all.  Usually when you run an update there is a few seconds of quiet when you turn the pleo on and then a voice announces updating please wait and then when it is finished there is usually a sound of some sort I think a chime to tell you it is complete I can't remember exactly as it was a long time ago that I did it but it might even tell you with the voice again that the update is complete.  but either way there should be a definite start and finish noise for the update. 
So I wonder is your pleo even reading the card?  I would try running a skit to see if your pleo can read the card.  You can download one from the downloads section on the forums and then wipe your card clean and put the skit on it then put that in your pleo, turn him on and see what happens.  If he manages to read the card and perform the skit then it has to be something to do with the update file either how it was put on the stick or maybe it got corrupted when you downloaded it.  Any way give that a try and let us know what happens

Should it have a sound folder in the zip?

Yes, that's what tells you when the update starts.

Maybe try updating to 1.1 first?

 Update: os update 1.1 works great. The 1.1.1 and 2.0.1 updates do not have everything. Just the urf, pm, and amx files.

Update again, and this could be helpful to others. In order for the others to work, you first need to have 1.1. It makes it so pleo recognizes the later updates. 1.1 prepares it. What comes in this newest update? How do i do tricks?

 So you wrap your hand around his head, or what? I keep trying to get him to do his tricks, and i can only make him do sit. I cannot watch videos because my reader has no video ability.

I edited my previous post, saying i cannot watch videos on my black and white sony reader.

Ah, OK - then look at the sensor diagram on the link I posted.  That should give you an idea of where the sensors are so that you can touch the right areas to get the tricks.  You can check the sensors individually to get a feel, for example, if you touch the leg sensors the Pleo will react - or try the 'tada' trick, which is quite simple, just touch and hold one front leg sensor and the opposite rear leg sensor at the same time.

I got Teskus to play dead finally, but i cannot seem to get him to do any more except sit.
