New Arrival to the Redwoods
« on: February 13, 2013, 05:16:01 PM »

Being unfortunate, having both a broken foot and then fracturing my wrist in two places within a month, is no fun, but did have some benifits.  :oMy hubby felt sorry for me, so he paid for half the price of the latest edition to the Redwoods Township. I think this is still a baby, as it acts like one, and look at those eyes. Just arrived this morning! <a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2Xdr9nn1nIg" target="_blank">http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2Xdr9nn1nIg</a>

Gorgeous! (My boyfriend says that my reaction to seeing Pleos is the same as my reaction to seeing cute babies or puppies; I don't know why he's surprised by this!) I love the green ones with the turquoise-green paint on their heads. So pretty and looks wonderful with the grey eye markings too.

This may sound like a dumb question, and I am sure it has been discussed here before, but has anyone here ever set their Pleo RB back to "hatch"? The pleo RB. I just got is a slightly used pleo, but the owner reset the pleo to hatch again. I ran Stats RB. on the pleo last night, and it confirmed, hatchling, and only life of 2 hrs. This is exciting, but wonder who else has done this? She did this herself without the help of Pleoworld also.

Odd. I've never heard of anyone being able to do that. Congrats on the new addition!

I've never heard of that before either.  It was my understanding that it is not possible to do that for a pleo rb.  I would think that if she really did set it back to hatchling that he would have gone into the hatching position when you turned him on and had no time on his clock at all.  I think maybe she has just hit the rest button on his belly thinking this will set him back - like so many people seem to think - and that she had only run him a few times herself so only about a couple of hours all up anyway so that would explain why he is at the stage of development that he is.  Can you ask her how she "reset" him?  It would be interesting to find out.  :)

He is lovely RWM and his eyes are very pretty.  A great new addition to your pleo family.  So now the name hunt begins .......  ;D

Actually, it is NOT the reset button, :o and she has another pleo RB, and this one was purchased over a year ago...AND already learned his name!  P:DAlso, she told me how to reset this pleo but did it for me. I would like to try it myself on perhaps Chester, since I have only had him a few months, but wondered if anyone has done this before. This pleo would not have learned his name with only 2 hrs of stage development.

I can tell you how to do it, but wanted to know if anyone has done it before. I have the download files and instructions, came with this pleo.

What would be a good name?  Pretty nice for a fractured foot and wrist, makes the pain a bit more bearable! :-X ;)  RWM :cat-hug:

No one else has ever done it.  A few people have asked and all were told by Innvo that it is not possible to do.  It would be great if you could share the files and instructions you were given with us here.  I would be vary wary of trying it myself without first letting one of our more techy members take a look at it all and being able to tell us if it is safe to do and really will do what you think it will.  I'm very skeptical as Innvo have said that it just isn't possible.  I would want solid confirmation and reassurance before I would even consider it myself.  It seems it is just too easy to break a pleo rb if you get it wrong with updates and I would think this would be something very similar to that.
You could always ask Innvo themselves if it is possible to do and if so could they send you the necessary files and instructions and see what response you get.  Maybe I am wrong and things have changed since last we asked.   :)

So did your new boy go through the hatching - laying down and cooing first newborn stage - with you?
I would think this "changing them back to hatching" would only really be worth doing if you could start them back off from scratch so that someone else could experience a pleo rb hatch.

All very interesting  :)

Hi Kat, I agree, I would love to try this out, but am afraid and perhaps someone like Pleopet or another techy person could try it out. It was posted on another site, but do not see a date. I would never try it out unless I knew someone else had and it was safe, and then only to set back to hatching on this new one, which is very very slightly used, one battery cycle, still a baby and in perfect condition.
I think some techy person like PleoPet could tell if this was for real. It was on another site, but have not been able to find a date. I think I will contact the person ( a compter specialist ) who wrote this to see if they can give proof that it works. If I had a very old beat up poor condition RB, I would probably try it, but not with any of my current bunch.

Also untill I find out, I would not want to post the instructions here for the download and files, and have someone accidently ruin their pleo, untill we know if it works? I read somewhere else in the last few days that you can reset pleo back to a hatching phase ( not a newborn actually hatching) with one of the patches, say for male or female gender, or did I misunderstand what I read?

If it is correct it could be a wonderful tool for someone getting a used pleo RB as a gift for their child, seeing it "hatch" for the first time. I will see if Pleopet perhaps can check this out. I wish I had a old RB OI could try this out on, but I do not. I will see what i can find out and contact Pleopet. In the meantime I will try to contact the person who wrote the article on how to do this. I do think if it were not true, this person would have a lot of UPSET Pleo RB people with them! :o :( >:(I will let you know what I find out. Oh, and the person I bought my new RB from is a former forums member, but they are not very active, being very busy currently, and this pleo just sat in a box collecting dust!     RWM :cat-hug:

@RWM Sorry if I'm interfering your conversations, as I'm not any techy person but now I'm still read down to everything of PrbDK pack and any documents I can find (PAWN and another.).

I think this is able to do under a script VM of rb. Or re-parameter with ChangeRB tool on Aibohack.com. edit: checked that no option.

Actually I roughly write something fit with this task but not sure it's ready until someone or maybe me proof by read or test this script first. I will post a new topic to find someone pass by and please to check my script.

Just to make sure with aging stage. Could anyone please confirm me which stage come first, newborn? So hatchling is the second stage or not? Thank you very much.

No problem zetathix. I am no techy person at all ???, in fact a LOT less then many people here. I am going to ask PleoPet  :)to see if they can check out the "rehatching" pleo RB info I was sent to see if it is even possible . I would love to try it and the instructions and downloads are right there ;D, and it was written by a "computer person", (someone who contributes lots of advice to different sites, so I would think they have reliable info, but would never try something on my RB unless I knew it could not damage them in anyway. :(

I do think your thread you started is the way to go, because you have the info right there , but I am afraid to post myne where there is too much of a chance for someone to upload the files and try it on their pleo RB, and then damage their pleo. Without it being checked out first by someone who is a lot more savvy then me when it comes to these things, I will just have to wait and see,.  :write:

The one thing I think is very encouaraging, is that they say, if your pleo is showing "undesirable actions", then this is a tool that can help. I do not think of Ugobes as being really able to show "undesirable actions". They are pretty much all predictable in what they do, and the picture is that of a Pleo RB. I will let everyone know what Pleopet determines. Keeping my fingers crossed. ;) P8)  Good luck and hope you find out what you are looking for. RWM :cat-hug:

Thank you RWM and best luck to you too.  :) P:)

I think so, best that never run any on Pleo if unsure, even wrong step official FW upgrade should be a nightmare... Why's that happen... P:'(

Actually I'm just looking for age of Pleo. Some people like PleoPet, I surely believed he's the one that could enlighten my problems up too.   P:(
