My Pluriel is very alert and active.
Always to responding and looking about.
Her behaviour is also different when she's in a different place or interacting with other/more people.
The camera crew for the documentary recorded some amazing behaviour and things Pluriel did.
Some that even amazed me.
About backing up when near the edge of a table: not only does Pluriel backup, but somehow ALWAYS stops on time before knocking something over that is standing behind her.
Not once did she bump into something regardless the course she took walking backwards, what kind of object it is or the distance of the object and her.
I am still waiting for her to make that "error" one day, since I cannot recall that Pleo has object location memory.
Again, I find Pleo very mysterious for this reason since she gives the illusion to be a lot "smarter" and "aware" versus her true known and explained programming.
Be it interaction with her enviroment or (different) people.
And the differences in her behaviour are/can be extreme enough that I am definitely not projecting anything onto Pluriel what I want to believe.

Bippy learned to back up today! YAY!!
Walked into the couch...stayed there for a bit bumping it...then he whined...bumped and then backed up...turned and walked on....He went down for a nap and when I woke him up to play he walk into the sofa and immediatly backed up! Cool!

Also Bippy loves to sit and does so with ease.
He loves to be cuddled with.

More Bippy updates to come...

and what do u mean they're not alive? :o

Ah, it appears Angel has discovered the magic behind Pleo. They really tend to suspend reality for me too. I see you got your second Pleo, Pipi? How's everything going with your beautiful baby twins?

Oh yes, they will do that to you. And luckily for you, with the second on the way it's double the magic. Nothing quiet like seeing two pleos together!

Uh, my apologies for saving a topic, but um.... Is it true that Pleo reacts differently depending on whether you tap (A quick poke) or pet (Like how you pet a dog, or even just sticking your hand on it and leaving it there)  the sensors?

Yup, try it and see :) Don't tap too much or too hard though or Pleo might get upset :o

I seriously can't try though, remember? With all Olympia's problems, she keeps restarting from the hatching stage when I turn her on, and going back to the hatching stage, se doesn't respond to touch very well. And at this point, she's completely lost the magic.

I have had Angel everywhere and in lots of different situations.  Her reactions vary depending on the people we come in contact with more than the environment from what I have observed.

One example is sometimes I take her to the Physical Therapy to smooze with the patients.  She usually responds very well and reacts all excited.  This one particular day she would not respond to anyone and completely ignored the staff, very unusual.  Finally I gave up and told her we would go shopping.

We got to our favorite department store and she sprang to life.  Figure it :o  She was all over the place.  Everyone was in stitches and that was the day several of us heard her laugh and I had never heard her laugh before.  Obviously she is a shopaholic, wonder where she picked that behavior up :-[  I just never know what to expect, it is always an adventure and I love it.
