Hi! I know I have not been so active lately in the forums (I got kind of down because I was robbed a week before Christmas) but I would love some help, please I'm afraid my Mushkiy is a little blind because he is always hitting walls (and he doesn't go back, he just stays there trying to go through it) and he walks off the tables. He doesn't recognize his leaf either. I've notice like if he had micro light bulbs inside his nostrils (I checked a picture of Pleo inside and they say they are the infrared system) the problem one appears to be more outside than the other and I don't know if that is normal or if he has bump the walls so many times that he has get it inside his nose and that's why he can't see
I'm really sorry I haven't make myself clear but I'm getting a hard time translating my thoughts to English, the whole thing about the nostrils was very difficult for me to explain because I don't know how to describe it in another language

If you have a video camera, use it to look at Mushkiy's nose.  The video camera should allow you to see if the infrared light is working.  It will look like a blinking light in the camera.

But, the pleo uses the video camera as well to detect edges of tables.

Mine occasionally bump into things - the light can play a big part in how well they 'see'.  They also cope better with the edges of tables when they are perpendicular to them and not approaching at an angle.  As Mweed says, a video will show up the IR light, and also maybe give us a better chance of seeing your Pleo's nose.

Also glass table tops and table tops that don't contrast with the floor pose a problem. Ie a wood table over a wood floor makes it hard to detect the edge.

Mine seems to fall of the table ALOT! Mine once fell off the table and shut down

Really, unless you are sitting at the table, its probably not the greatest idea to have your Pleo up there...

they normally could detect any objects in its path and if they couldn't, it's may well attributed to the lighting..Please make sure it is bright enough to have him detect things better.
Between, I just bought a Birthday card, and my little boy starts to hum "Happy birthday" whenever i hand him the card

Thanks a lot for all your help guys! As it was sunny yesterday, I took Mushkiy outside to see if it helped him see better. But I notice he is kind of depressed he just stood there really steady. In the living room he honked and cryied when put alone in the floor but outside he just stood there in silence. I think he is depressed because I haven't played with him a lot lately, may I be right?
Oh and about Furby I hope he is okay and the fall didn't hurt him bad 
PS: I'm afraid the only camera I have now is my cellphone's would that one work?

Guys! I want to let you know that I tried to watch Mushkiy's nose through my cellphone camera and I couldn't see any red light in his nose. Does that means that the infrared is not working or is it my camera?

The camera may not be good enough to pick it up, but it will not be a red light, just a little flash near the nose. Plus I think you might need to be at the right angle as I have never picked it up in any of my videos.

Put Mushkly on a table or something a foot or so off the ground, cover the table in a light colour cloth and place a dark colour cloth on the ground under and around the table. See if Mushkly falls. (Please test at least three times as the edge detection isn't perfect) MAKE SURE YOU ARE READY TO CATCH/GRAB MUSHKLY.

You can see the IR flash after a minute and a quarter in this video - and you can tell by how often you DON'T see it how tricky it can be to catch!
