What precisely are the symptoms? does it respond at all to being switched on, or does it make it's activation sound before freezing, or something else?

We need more details before we can provide help.

Hello, I am sorry to hear about the Pleo problem but hopefully it does not mean that the Pleo is dead. What type of Pleo is it and how long have you had it? Is it the Ugobe Model , and what type of battery is it running, a original green battery or something else? It may not have updated correctly if the battery was not fully charged, that is very important. Did you read all the instructions on the PleoWorld site on how to download and upgrade Pleo? If you miss one step it can be very important.

I am no expert, but the first thing I would do is to fully charge the battery. Did Pleo work IMMEIDATLY before you tried upgrading Pleo to 1.1? I am asking because if Pleo had not been played with in awhile and you did not use a good fully charged battery, it is very likely that the upgrade did not work and you only think Pleo is dead.If the battery can be charged again, I would try that first and when fully charged insert it in Pleo as normal and see if Pleo comes on, If Pleo comes on as normal, then you know Pleo is not dead. If you haven't used that battery in awhile, then I dont' know but it could be a battery problem, I do think you should have another member here such as degers or IMR who are very good at diagnosing these problems and can help you more than I can.
First we do need to know more about the Pleo , when did you last play with it and does the battery charge completly or partially and for how long and what type of battery it is. After that it will get more involved with computer questions. I do wish you luck, there are lots of people here who have had similiar problems and PleoPet in another EXCELLENT person to have help you. If she is around I am sure she will see your question. wishing you the best! :)                  RedwoodsMama

Pleos don't really "die" they can break or have some sort of technical issue with them or the battery which can most likely be fixed.   Agreeing with fimoman, more details on your pleo could help us help you. :)

Did the update actually start? Is the battery reliable and was it fully charged? What happens when you turn your Pleo on? What exactly happened when you tried to update?

Even if the software is damaged Pleo should be fixable but we need as much detail as you can provide to be able to help you.

I am Italian, i am sorry for my English.
PLEO is new, before PLEO moving normal, two days after my daughter tried to update, I think that the battery was not charged. The battery is UGOBE.
Now I have charged the battery with the metoto "Batterysitter" and when I turn it on you only hear a click from the mouth of pleo, almost imperceptible. I've tried changing the SD, loaded POP, anything not moving, I tried PM2, the same. DINO-MITE I installed with the drivers, but no detects

I think you will need to contact Degers or Pleopet here on the forums, Degers has had some experience with resurrecting Pleo's from the grave.

You can e-mail them.
Here's degers e-mail: degers@bobthepleo.com
And here's PleoPets e-mail: pleopet@aibohack.com

Good luck, I'm sure you'll find a way to revive your pleo!  :)
