Check to make sure that the series string is wired in the same pattern so the proper contacts and polarity is reached where the Pleo needs them.

Looks like a good start (right batteries pre-connected together, assuming the orientation is compatible)

The tricky part is getting the THREE connection points correct (the 3rd is for a thermistor for detecting a hot battery), and making it fit firmly in the body cavity.
It is easier if you have an old battery to rip apart (to re-use the casing and thermistor).

I rebuld LiIon batteries for the AIBO.

Be most careful trying to replace the LiIon cells used for the rb or the egg. The cells alone (there are two in each battery) are not protected from a number of issues unique to the LiIon chemistry and you could destroy your Pleo or house if you get it wrong. The protection comes in a small circuot board inside the battery that shuts the battery off when the voltage and/or current are too high or the voltage is too low. It also balances the cells which is far more important with the LiIon cells than the NiMn ones.

To clarify and add emphasis:
The above advice and make-your-own-battery guide is for making an work-alike battery for the old Pleo using NiMHd cells, and the standard original green colored charger.

IMHO: Making (or even repairing) LiIon/LiPoly batteries for Pleo is not recommended. As mentioned it is dangerous and can cause the batteries to explode when done wrong.
You can purchase brand new LiPoly batteries for the old models (white color with egg-style charger) or spares for the PleoRB (brown color compatible with RB charger). This reduces the risk of destroying your Pleo, and helps support Pleo accessory sellers.

I'm not sure if this is intended as a question or an answer, really - just adding to the mix, I guess:

In spite of the fact that they appear to be the same size and voltage, as far as I'm aware nobody has got a Ucube egg charger battery to work in an RB - they certainly don't work in mine.

> nobody has got a Ucube egg charger battery to work in an RB
That's related to the THIRD terminal (normally a thermistor connected between the 3rd terminal and the ground/negative terminal)

The white egg battery has no connection to the 3rd terminal.
The old Pleo V1 firmware accepts that and continues to run. There is no overheat protection.

The new PleoRB firmware rejects the battery, and won't boot up. The PleoRB will run with an old Green battery (which has the thermistor).

That makes perfect sense out of what has been, for me anyway, a mystery up until now!  Thank you very much for explaining, Pleopet.  :-*
