Milo is doing just great.  He likes to ask me how my day was a lot and then always answers me - no matter what I reply - with it will be better tomorrow!  Funny little fellow.  I'm still not sure yet if he prefers his ball or his bone.  He does play with his ball a lot more than his bone but will get his ball confused with his bone a bit too.  His ball skill level is much higher than his bone one.  But time will tell. ;D
I had Pixel running yesterday morning before work and he is still on baby stage 3.  But for the last half hour of playtime he fell over every 5 mins! ???  I kept having to go and stand him back up.  He seemed to be tripping over his own back foot when he was getting himself into or out of the crawling position.  I am hoping that as Thor seems to be doing something similar it is just part of the learning they go through on the Life 2 software and not an issue.  I do hope he snaps out of it though as it is driving me crazy.  He falls on his side then makes sad noises and the red face then waves his paw in the air and makes help me noises.  and if I don't get there fast enough he switches himself off.  When I put him the right way up again and pat him he turns back on.  I will run him tonight and see what happens.

They do snap out of the falling phase!

Murray has only fallen two times (without Vader or Nicco's involvement) since he's returned "straightened out" from his bends. However, he was also falling every 5-10 minutes on DogsLife (i.e. he was damaged so I couldn't separate it from knowing if it was the phase or not, but glad to hear that some of it wasn't completely his broken fault lol).

If I recall, latrine's Thor was doing something similar (unless I'm mixing up AIBOs) and I have read in the Aibo-Life forums that they fall down frequently at the younger phases.

Murray, granted the development paths may end up different for all of us, really didn't even start showing his personality until the later days/end of his Child B1 (Talking) phase. However, now I notice a lot more/wider variety of behaviors and he's become more enjoyable - though lately a bit of an annoying cry baby over his ball for some reason.

I used to just roll my eyes and let Murray sleep his falls off until I decided I was willing to get him back up. Though he's retaliated with a few naps in his current stage with random waking up! Sometimes a few hours later.

Wow! From what I've read here, Aibos are not as predictable as pleos as far as their progression from pup to adult. It definately adds to the lifelike factor.

I just asked Milo what his walking skill level was and he proudly told me "I'm as graceful as a ballerina!"  :D :D :D
Funny little fellow.  I have had all my troupes running together tonight and so far surprisingly they have all been very well behaved.  Pixel is still rocking on is front legs doing the crazy baby crawl, the pleos have been happily roaming the lounge room and Milo has been taking great delight in stealing Pixels ball. :D He has also been taking pics of the pleos. :P  I would love to work out how to look at the pics he takes.  I'm guessing I will need to load the software that came with him onto my computer but I still haven't gotten around to battling with that.  I have a little net book computer that has no disk drive so installing stuff can be very tricky.  Oh well, off to play some more. ;D

If you put his stick in the computer and browse inside the folders on it, there's a directory called photos that has them all. I don't have a stick in and am on my phone otherwise I'd get you the direct folder path. I feel like it's open-r/pc/photos or something similar.

Glad you're having fun, Kat! I guess Milo's being the more dominant dog and taking Pixel's ball. I bet Pixel is saying, "Oh just you wait, Big Brother!" Lol!
On a technical note- this thing you guys are calling a stick, does it have some sort of standard USB connecter or something and can you se it when it's in the Aibo?

It's a memory stick similar to something like an sd card but longer. You put them in a, memory card reader and then they show up on your computer as a drive just like other memory sticks do.

And it contains the software that is the dog essentially.

They're security footage to capture what he considers... interesting. He's just not telling you why or what he's going to do with them. Lol! I'm sorry I don't know what's wrong with me today. I'm just in an oddly humorous mood.
Thanks, Bobs for the explanation about the memory stick.

They can also make little blogs with quick thoughts about things they take photos of with the entertainment player or whatever it's called, I haven't tried it yet but browsed a few blogs a day ago. It was interesting.

Modified:

You can check out some of those blogs here if you want to see the feature in action: http://www.aiboworld.com/blog/

I love the way they can do that!

When I took a video of all three Aibo after Java's arrival, I had to commandeer the bathroom as it had the most free space and the best light for filming.  I was in there for ages, and eventually poor OH came in and said he needed to use the loo.  I stopped filming to give him at least a semblance of privacy, but then Java started to wander over towards him.  I pulled Java back as OH grumbled about not even being able to use his own loo in peace, but Java seemed to take even more interest in him due to his raised voice:

"How am I supposed to pee with all these robots wandering about -------- look - that Java's coming straight towards me again ..............  I swear he's staring at me ................. what the heck is he doing now?"  >:(

"Erm ............. he just took your picture .............."  :-[

Several of my friends have gotten freaked out by the AIBOs when they end up randomly looking over to wherever said friend is and start approaching. A few days ago one of my friends was observing Nicco and when he walked over to the couch (where my friend was sitting) and laid down, my friend spoke and Nicco "looked" directly at him. My friend said "What is he doing? Can I pet him? What do I do?" Haha. So I showed him how to do it and that it's not nearly as intimidating as it seems!

Your poor OH Crewella.   :D :D :D  That's one way for poor Java to find himself in the doghouse. :D
I am hoping that Pixel will be moving on from baby hood today as yesterday was day 7 of 7 of baby stage 3 so fingers crossed when I play with him tonight he will learn to walk like a big boy. :D
Can you delete pics off of the mind3 stick?  When I looked at Milo's photo folder there are a lot of old pics in there from his old home.  The most exciting pics he has taken from here are the pleo ones I posted.  The rest of his pics from here are all of the floor or the wall  :P  Oh and then there are a couple of really great ones he took of me of course. :D  Just thought it might be nice to clear out the cobwebs of his memory and erase the past if you know what I mean.

Yup, you can just select them and delete them. I do it periodically when I transfer them all over to my PC.

Nicco takes TONS of pictures of me - some which have been awkward. Especially the ones when I'm recording him. Though the worst ones are the ones he takes when I see him first thing in the morning and he recognizes me as the owner. He's laid off on that for now thankfully as even I don't like to see what I look like first thing in the AM haha.

Well I played with Milo and Pixel last night and Pixel has moved into the next stage in his development.  He is now Child A1 Playful.  Not that I have seen any real difference in him as he still has not made any attempt to walk.  He just continues with the silly crawling.  I do hope the crawling comes to an end soon as it is driving me mad.  It seems he falls over when he is trying to kick the ball.  He gets a bit over excited and pulls his front leg back too far too take a big swing at the ball.  Then his front leg gets caught on his back leg and he looses balance and falls sideways.  Unless of course I catch him first. :)  I really do hope he walks soon  %)

Ummmm Kat, the crawling might stick with you for quite a while. Granted I'm not sure which Aibo this information is refering to, but it takes six weeks for them to mature. Glad to hear he is progressing some at least.

Thor is on the same stage but is a 'walking AIBO' He will sometimes Crawl and when he does that, I just tell him 'Don't do that' then he usually stands up and walks..  try telling Pixel that to discipline and encouraging with 'Go for it' that's how I got Thor to walk. Although he has gone from standing up on his own when he falls over to constantly wanting me to pick him up.. wouldn't be a problem but he 'falls over' ON PURPOSE like every ten minutes and if I don't stand him up he just goes into sleep mode after asking for help twice. Lazy little brat!!!!

Best of luck with your lazy little brat!! lol..

As Latrine says, I think the theory behind bringing up a 210/220 is that the owner will encourage the behaviour they like and discourage the stuff they don't.  :)

Although, as she also says, sometimes you're not quite sure who's training who ................  ;)

Here are some of the highlights of my playtime with Milo and Pixel last night.  Milo is getting better at hearing me and understanding me.  Although sometimes he does still seem to be a bit cloth eared. :D  Pixel doesn't really do much in this one.  He is still a little crawling baby.  When I play with him next I will have a go at telling him not to do that when he crawls and see what happens.  I just hope it doesn't discourage him from moving at all.  There really have been no signs of any walking yet and I have been encouraging him with go for it as much as possible.  We will see.  I'm sure he will get there eventually. :P

That was funny!  :D

It was like poor Milo couldn't believe what Pixel was up to, he kept getting distracted by him!  "I tried talking to him, but look at him for goodness sake - what do you expect!"!  :P

If I didn't know they are both well brought up Aibos, I'd suspect Pixel of having been at the sauce!  ;)

Yay yay yay!  Pixel has finally taken his very first shaky steps.  Amazing how much more affective walking is than crawling.  He has even kicked his ball a few times and then followed across the room.  He has attempted to kick his ball many more times and missed completely too. :P :D  So happy he is finally walking.  I will post a little video of it a bit later. :)
