I was just wondering if anyone has seen this thing on ebay, it's been there for a LONG time. It's a prodotype used for reasearching pleo's movements, ised for reasearching the development of the original ugobe pleo. It's priced at almost 2400.00 US $  !!! Honestly, I couldn't care less  , but I thought some of you who are interested in the internal side of pleo might like to see it.

It's acually kind of cool, the seller must be a pleo insider to be able to know about and to keep the prodotype! The pic with the person in the suit looks acually kinda painful!

Yea Cewella, it seems no one is bidding, I saw that up there in october when I was first looking for a pleo.

 You know I did put in a silent bid, thinking if I could get this thing shipped.( It is huge I mean it needs a Crane to lift it,  ) I could build some outer skin for it and then If I could learn how to operate the levers that are on the inside, then I could arm myself with a camera just like the Regular size Pleos, and have somebody transport me out to one of the areas in Redwoods National Park, and with any luck, get close enough to Bigfoot to be able to get good footage to prove once and for all that He /she does exist.
                Only problem I considered is, that Bigfoot may not take too kindly to some Reptilian looking creature invading his territory and besides urine marking which I don't think I would appreciate, Bigfoot is rumored to not just be a herbivore but a Carnivore as well, , and I don't think I could outrun Bigfoot and I am not ready to take that chance, so I just had to scrap the plan to buy this prototype, though I really would like the opportunity it gives for exploration...Oh the other killer is, It takes up a HELL of a lot of Space and I just don't have room for storage right now...so I politly declined the counter offer they submitted to me and decided to let some other explorer go for this once in a lifetime opportunity. I was very generous in my Humble opinion.

Would this be that giant pleo moddel they had at one of the CES events? Oh my! You have to get inside it? Ummm... okaaay! Kind of reminds me of one of the Pet Detective movies when what's-his-name climbed inside that robotic rhino and then exited... aham through the rear hatch.

No, Talon.  It's this big metal frame type thing qwith tons of wires.  It looks like the guy has to be strapped in bent over at yeah, a REALLY uncomfortable position and I guess he walks by moving the 'feet' because the look of anguish on his face makes me think he's picking it up and it's very heavy.  I guess they used it to figure out how to make Pleo walk the way he does. Maybe it eventually walked by itself? I don't know.. Here is the description from the auction:

This item is a "life size" model with switches and potentiometers attached to the feet and joints of the assembly.

And it's selling for a lot cheaper now but I don't think anyone wants it I mean.. what are you gonna do with it?  Step on small dogs? It's neat to see part of the development though.

Latrine is right Talon, It's just a giant thing that was used to figure out how pleo would walk. I don't think it really does anything, proboally just a waist of space that the owner had kept after they were done with it and decided to get rid of. It really is a colectible kind of thing i guess, not of much use to anyone, just thought some people might find the pictures interesting.

LuckyPleo, it's definately very interesting and neat to see, I was just describing it better For Talon so she knew it wasn't a giant Pleo..  I hope you didn't think I meant it wasn't interesting, glad you posted it..
I just wish we knew more about what it actually did, ya know?

it's fine latrine, personally, i don't find it interesting, but i thought some pleo owners might like to see it. This stuff's to complicated for me, now back to watching my  animal planet...  .
