How cool it would be if Pleo was able to go walk up to his leaf and be able to pick it up all by him self ? obviously the leaf would need redesigning But that would be what i call realism and those kind of improvements would show that pleo rb had been worked on with great thought on creating a unique life form .

When i first saw the vids on you tube about pleo before he was released i always thought that he would be able to spot out his leaf and come to you when called this was the kind of impression i got back then . And its these kind of improvements that would really start up a big Pleo frenzy and get the World going Bonkers about Pleo RB .

Appears to be a skit.  Also, I think the person's hand positions (when placing\taking the object) change throughout the vid, so I don't think the video is on a loop.

It's a very simple skit along with careful positioning of the object that Pleotakes. Pleo is a machine after all so it isn't hard to get him to run a movement repeatably

 I have two thought of Pleo RB, one I don't know and the other kind of scares me.... :(Do you know if they are going to make a special edition Pleo RB, like they did with the first Pleos, a Pleo Gold Card, where you can special order them and a limited number of special Pleo RB will be made, gold card or something similar?
 The other question scares me, it really has me worried, Do you know if the new Pleo RB are going to be able to interact and will they recognize the older Pleos, or are they only going to recognize other Pleo RB? I am really hoping they will recognize and be able to interact with all pleos, regardless of which model, It would be a real shame if they could not talk to them or recognize them. That bothers me more than the possibility , highly likely, that they will cost more than the current Pleos.

Yeah that thought has really bothered me too, and I had actually planned on asking. Shocking you were the 'first' to have this thought! I surely hope Innvo has thought that through!

Or do you mean, just because I live here in the Redwoods, tucked away from civilization, and living among the BigFoot for so long, that my brain has lost any normal thought processes humans pocess?I thought you knew I was an indivualist and Rebel Rouser...I fight to protect the endangered species, fauna, the spotted Owl, ( even though the loggers give me dirty looks now and then.... >:(the salmon and their spawning grounds here on the Klamath River, and of course the Pleos, both Ugobe and Innova.
               Just because there is going to be a newer, more improved Pleo, does  not mean that the original Pleos should be shoved aside, and treated as second class citizens.
These Pleos are the founders of Pleo Nation, and deserve to be treated with respect. Ugobe and even the Innova Pleos have a special spot in our hearts, ( and heaven knows our pocket book... ) and the very idea that Pleo RB may not interact or even recognize their brothers and sisters, is beyond belief to me. It would break my heart to think that Nova, Little $45.00, Un-named brother, or Gold Card, would be shunned by Pleo RB. Would I have to have two different Play dates just to interact with my Pleos nowPleo RB would also be losing out on a lot of enrichment activities if he didnt get to meet and interact with Nova! I mean not meeting Nova is like passing up the opportunity to talk to your fave singer, actress......or the Queen her self, it is just not somthing a Pleo,any Pleo should miss. All Pleos can learn from each other, and just because Pleo RB has a higher I.Q, does not mean other Pleos should be shunned and put in the back of the closet somewhere.( guess you can tell how I feel about Pleos, esp my Pleos and MS. Nova.. ) If Pleo RB can not communicate with the Original Pleos, I dont think I want one, I couldn't do that to my other Pleos, and that is sad.. So I am hoping my fears are unfounded. { you know I am just laughing with you Gucci, just having some fun now don't you!}

whoah, whoah, whoah, whoah, whoah...! Slow down there!! Man can things get so lost in translation when using text versus vocalization. I was referring to you being the first to post on the subject. And not you specifically!! It could have been anyone! But I suppose what I meant was you were the actual first person to mention the thought of it. Shocking to me that none of us had thought to ask long before. So, definitely not an attack on you, so I don't appreciate the attack on me..

I REALLY love this idea...I do not believe this will be implemented in the 2010/2011 model, but all the same I hope it is in future models. GREAT idea!!

Yes, for obvious reasons I like the interchangeable neck/tail/body/arms/legs/etc/etc/etc idea. Not only would it be a good idea in the event of a neck/tail breakage, but also, for those who might want a broader sense of customization could have their blueish pleo, in addition to red parts or yellow, or whatever...Did I lose anybody? Or even keep 'spares' on hand for in the event of a neck/tail/body/arms/leg/etc/etc/etc breakage.

Hmmmm ..... I can see the sense of that....... but mebbe I'm just a bit too girly and bought in to the whole lifelike thing ......having odd body parts  stashed around the place just feels a bit creepy.

But having removable neck and tail would create really onbious seams in the skin.  Also one would have to devise a coupling mechanism to couple the new tail to the servo etc.

Barretgazzy, you continue to sound dissatisfied with all of the work Innvo have done.  You have to remember that they are trying to make big improvements without changing the $$$price$$$ of Pleo!  I don't understand, or maybe I am so excited because I know all of the improvements and you guys only know some at the moment.  If you are still dissatisfied in a few weeks, you don't have to buy one.

I hear you degers, but I tend to take it as excitement and trying to second-guess the improvements rather than moaning.  Pleo and Genibo are the only current pet robots of any substance, and as Genibo seems more of an Aibo reproduction, that makes the Pleo the only serious robot pet that's currently in development with a real eye to the future.  That IS exciting, and you can hardly blame some of us for getting a bit carried away with hopes and fears for the version that's about to be unleashed when we still know so little about it.

..........and I bet you £1 that barrettgazzy DOES buy one!

i did not say that i was not going to buy1 , i thought the point of a forum was to discuss all things related to pleo and even input our own idea's of what we would like to see in Pleo rb .

You had mentioned in 1 of the earlier posts that innvo do come in and read the forum, so this is as good a opportunity as we get in putting our own ideas over to innvo in what we would like to see in the improvements.
  
Now i want to see Pleo RB as big a success as is possible as i think we all do here and i have only basically talked about the minor let downs in previous Pleo's with the neck breaking , skin and paint wearing much too fast and no way of really repairing Pleo at all. Also i like to bring up the things we thought were missing to make pleo  that much better and like every1 else we do not want to see these problems in the pleo rb as we love pleo . We spend good money on pleo and most and if not all will pay that bit more to get a Pleo that will last a very long time especially when you live all way in the UK and so it makes it that little bit harder to buy 1 .
  
This is also why i did ask in 1 of my much earlier posts, How much People were willing to pay in a much improved Pleo ? this was to put that thought over to innvo .  I think that if the price of pleo were to double to what it is now it would still sell very much so and also be a big success , JUST LIKE Aibo's have been.

So noo i am not moaning Honest , i have made it clear in all my posts related to the info you have kindly released on pleo rb , that so far i am Looking forward to hearing more and also did say i was liking the look of the learning stones .

Maybe we should not mention what we would like to see in pleo rb or not bring up any of our ideas at all that we think would be nice to see in newer Pleo's

Gucci, I thought you of all people would know I was joking, apparently you did not read the last line, I was joking, making fun of my living in the Redwoods with Bigfoot and such, it is part of my personality.               It gave me the chance to rant and rave about Pleos, whom I love and talk about NOva as if she was Lady GaGa or The Queen of England, such an impressive Specimen of Pleo .( that is how we all feel about our Pleos, or most of us I think           Crewella knew it was a joke , or satire. I mean in one post about Pleo body parts, Crewellas says she thinks she has a Hip joint in a dresser or something, It is all just in fun Gucci, I officially apologize to you if you think that I thought you were making fun of my brain, though I have said for years, that everyone makes fun of my brain, or lack of one, so it is fine with me, I take pride in being different and would not want to fit into society , I am more of a square peg in a round hole society. I would hope the price of the Pleo RB wouldn't be too high; so many people are already feeling the pinch in these economic times that they can't possibly afford one at the current pricing never mind if they were double or more.  I don't think it would be helpful for the longterm if they create the world's greatest Pleo but at a price only a very few could afford. I'm keen to see how many improvements they've been able to cram into the Pleo but hopefully at a price level as comparable to the existing as is achievable.
