Questions about the Leaf
« on: August 14, 2010, 01:03:31 PM »

Hi! I was wondering about the Pleo leaf. What makes the leaf the thing to refill his hunger? Is it some infared signal or what? Or can he eat anything you put in his mouth?

Also, if there is something special about the leaf, could i remove that part of it and put in something else? That would be awesome! :)

I'm in the process of making a leaf for Budge, as I'm short of a leaf for him.  I've been told that it's mainly the colour, the paler green in particular, that gets his attention so I'm making a felt leaf in much the same colours as the original.  Should be better, actually, as it won't wear his teeth so much.  If in the mood, though, Pleos will eat all sort of things........ fingers, the carpet, pens....try it out! :D

That would be a nice idea, but I think they are going to have a long way to go before Pleo can move to do something like pick even his leaf up, As for eating, if you have watched your pleo for any length of time, you will soon notice that Pleos are not one bit picky about eating and in fact , if there is not a leaf present, or a finger, they will still go through the motions of " eating", just watch the invisible leaf being eaten, and Pleo chewing away, as if something is in the mouth.
I do like the idea of a softer leaf, and I also am making some Leaf and food for Nova to eat, but it is not made of felt,  ;) When I finish them, I will post them , photos of her eating them and I am thinking of adding them to the Free or bonus items that people get when buying a battery of either kind from the store, ( I have both the green and egg charger variety now.)
