ok - after reading all the pros and cons i decided to upgrade my son's pleo.
he is a later version, bought from amazon after uniglobe announced bankruptcy but before the resurrection - it has a reset button by the usb connector.
so i started with a freshly charged, and cooled battery.
inserted the sd card - heard the lovely woman's voice, then the male 'done' voice.
however dyno (kid's choice) didn't curl up but started to move and make exploration noises.
i left him for a bit and then turned him off, removed the sd card, and then turned him back on.
much more active, noisier, etc.
but then he got a little stuck, i petted him as seemed to be the 'way' to unstick and it worked for a second.
then he curled his head, there was some clicking and then he kind of straightened out - tail rock striaght, head straight and slightly down, back legs straight, front legs slightly bent so feet are 'up'.
now he is doing nothing - was making a half grunt sound but not moving despite petting, picking up, etc.
pressed the reset button for 10 sec and nothing.
i tried re-installing PM2 - got the same 'updating' and 'done' but there was no body movement at all.
then i decided to 'nuke' it and roll-back using the instructions for downgrading.
i inserted the 1.0SD.
dYno clicked a few times, i left him for 20 min, but nothing.
i turned him off, pulled out the card, turned him on and nothing at all, no sounds, no curling up, nada.
tried again with the PM2 and now i don't even get any sound.

HELP!!!!

Try using the Point of Purchase (POP) load in the Downloads of downgrading topic.  It has had good success for bricked pleos that were functional but had corrupted OS.  The use the 1.1 upgrade.  If that doesn'y work, sometimes it helps to try the USB upgrade.

I use  the Point of Purchase (POP) , yes OK , it work's,but after that i use the 1.1 upgrade, i "bricked" pleo....
but after that what to do?, the sdcard of pleo doesn't work , I remark that pleo updater 1.02 , was the only firmware i can use to reinstall a firmware  after a brick.
Only with this firmware i am sure that pleo can read my  pleo sdcard

But for the moment impossible to install the 1.1 upgrade , with sd card or USB

The Point of Purchase reset would have completely restored your Pleo, so I am a little at a loss as to why it bricked again. Try using a different sd card, perhaps the one you are using is faulty.

Could you tell us please:

How old your Pleo is
How old the battery is
How old the SD card is
What operating system your computer is running
and any other information you think may help

i bought my pleo less than one year ago, but it was the old version
my battery is a new Ucube egg  battery
sd card is a san disk micro sd adapter qith a 1gb san disk
windows xp sp3

i can only install 1.02 version with usb , after that i can use my sd card to try to install version 1.1
i can  heard the final music but my pleo refused to start

I think that you may need to reinstall the 1.0.2 if you can, obviously there is a problem with your Pleo's sd installation so you will have to avoid that. I would also contact Innvo and see what they have to say about the problem.
