Making Pleo walk
« on: July 24, 2010, 07:27:11 PM »

Hiya! I'm looking for a way to program my Pleo to walk in a straight line. I've tried using MySkit, but my Pleo ended up doing nothing but strange spasms. Any good ideas on how to achieve this? If possible, I would also like to program him to walk in a circle and in different speeds. How much is possible?  %)

If my plans succeed, how long can I expect Pleo to operate? I'm hoping to squeeze more than an hour of walking out of him. Is that setting the bar too high?  :(

Active walking, you will be lucky if you can get one hour.

Under the PDK section of the software thread there is a remote control Pleo demo and the coding that you need, it has walking forwards and backwards, left and right, the trick is of course finding a remote that works with Pleo.

With MySkit try slowing down the motion a lot and also remember that in MySkit you really need to over exaggerate the movements a lot because the on screen model is not very accurate.

I think you will get maybe 45-50 minutes max, walking really sucks up the power. I would suggest investing in the Li-Poly batteries which run for so much longer.
