Hi, Does anyone know how to control a robot, such as the vexplorer through the internet?

I was looking at these two robots

I was wondering how they did it and how much it would cost. If anyone has any answers I would enjoy to hear them.

The rovio is more of a webcam on wheels than a robot in my opinion, i havent heard of a price for it as i dont think wowee have released it yet. If you wanted to control a robot through the net the sony aibo ers-7 mind3 has this ability and is alot of fun because you can talk through it and get the aibo to do tricks with its ball and bone. Was there a particular thing you wanted to do with a robot over the net

Thanks for your reply.   I just wanted to be able to control it over the net and maneuver it around the house and maybe outside.

I had a Rovio, and returned it.  The response to commands was unworkably slow and the software was very buggy.  The navigation function hardly worked at all, and it had a problem returning to its base to charge when you could get it to work.  Save your money...

I don't know the other one you mentioned though.

Is it possible to take a remote control car and hook a webcam and all the servos into something so you can control that through the net.

You might try checking out CMU's Terk Robot project:

All the SW is supposed to be open source, and it might give you ideas.

By-the-way...I have the Qwerk controller, webcam, and linux-compatible USB wireless dongle used in this project, if anyone is interested in buying it.
