Hello there! If anyone knows, please tell me how to find out the version of Life OS on which Pleo is running? I want to try to reset my Ugobe to a newborn, but I also want to understand what OS it has. I have another Ugobe, and it behaves differently: It loads longer, walks less, and if you stroke it under the chin, it sings, not howls. - Owen  |

Thought I would give another update on this Pleo! I have tried running skits in him, but they will not run. It may be that he isn't equipped to run normal Ugobe skits or firmware, or it could just be that his internal battery is so far gone that he doesn't have enough power to start up even when plugged in (he has a plug on his belly so that he should be able to be run while plugged into an outlet). Still a mystery as to how he's in a different position than he was in the listing photos!
Also interesting that in the other prototype sold by the same person, the leg touch sensors were positioned on the feet themselves instead of up at the hip. The other prototype listed also had a snapped cable in his neck already, so that seems to have been an issue with Pleos from the start. Peep's skin has never been removed, so I don't know what he looks like on the inside! His cables feel intact though.
Here's a photo of what his belly looks like/how it's different from a normal Pleo's:
He has an internal battery and a few extra ports that aren't present on regular Ugobes. (I believe the name of the animator who worked with him was Tony Waters, hence the "TW" signature on his foot.)

Check the light on the bottom. My first thoughts are battery issues. Try replacing the battery in her foot.

Hello everyone, I don't have a lot of time this past year for you (very sorry) and for my pleos, I know, I am a bad pleo's mother  But I started sometime Delta to play with her with any problem, we are already happy together the few time I could be with her. And since two weeks, when I start her nothing happens except a repeat of 2 bips... I don't know what is wrong... The reset button has no effect on that ! Do you know what is this start issue and how to fix it please ? Thank you very much for your help  Dilo |

At the expense of the speaker, this is not a software error, but the wires have broken. And everything else... Try flashing it, it might help. If this doesn't help, most likely the electronics inside will die.

Hi - you have to remember that - like so many of the toy robotics we play with now - are actually very very old. I have a number of I-Cybies - fortunately all working. Like the Robosapiens and others - the plastic around the wiring is now very brittle and can break off small soldered joints very easily - my educated guess is that the wires have simply come off the speaker unit.
Now - it's not easy to get in there to fix it even if you're up to some fairly delicate soldering - and the risk of disconnecting even more wires is great unless you're super careful.
If you really want advice as to how to strip the I-Cybie down then post here again - I don't often check in - every few days - but I'll try to help.
If you're not up to dismantling and soldering then you have a mute I-Cybie - sorry about that .... I could always sell you another ... I have several.
There's nothing you (or anyone else) can do about the internal software program that's running the dog - it's just not accessible ....

Hello everyone, I have a problem with my I-Cybie, I received it yesterday and until today I can't fix the sound making, the icybie is silent, even pressing the remote in the right way doesn't make any sound. I've tried resetting, entering advanced mode but I don't know if I'm doing it wrong or not, the icybie continues to make no sound.... would any of you give advice to help me ? |
