Title: Is skin wear covered by the warranty...
Post by: degers on February 06, 2011, 05:36:51 AM
Aww OzPleo, best to have him on as much as possible, it is much better to have the wear occur during the warranty period.

Is normal skin wear covered by the warranty?

Holes within weeks is definitely not normal skin wear :(

Ok then, does the warranty cover ANY skin wear?

As for the skin covered by the warranty I could not find anything in the warranty info that suggested the skin would not be covered.  It does say they wont cover normal day to day wear but I agree with IMR the holes appearing in just a few weeks can't be classed as normal.  Also they asked for Peanut to be sent back and are replacing him and his only issue as far as I know was skin holes and wear.  And they seemed quite concerned about Kermy's skin issues too.  More concerned with that than the broken tail.  So my guess is that they will cover abnormal skin issues under warranty.  I'm no expert though this is just my guess.

Argh you're gunna make me dig out the fine print aren't you :P

Edit: "under normal personal use, such Pleo unit shall be free from defects in materials and workmanship for ninety (90) days from the date of original purchase"

However it does not cover normal wear and tear so if Innvo declares this as normal then there is nothing we can do about it :P The warranty also does NOT mention Pleo's sold overseas, only Americans.

Let's all hope for a repair kit instead :) And Degers, kindly remove this elsewhere, it is completely off topic ;)

Nothing wrong with a lady with conviction!!  :P

I can't see how holes within weeks could be counted as normal skin wear under any circumstances, either.

To be perfectly honest, I'm never really bothered about warranties as I so rarely buy anything new, and I'm slightly embarassed to admit that when I bought Belle I never even bothered to look.  I'm guessing that if I dig out the box and paperwork I'll find something in there?

Yes you will find the warranty card in the box with all the other bits of paper telling you how to put on a pleo cape etc...
Or you can just look at it on pleoworld.  :)

Well, that kind of answers my query - do the Chinese pink and blue ones have the same warranty as the US green rbs?

* yes - I know I should go and look, it's just the darned box is deep in the attic!*  :-[
