For those of you who may potentially be buying a Pleo from the Gimmedigi.com website please note that, while the majority of buyers from the website have been happy with their purchase, there have been a couple of issues raised about Pleo RB's purchase from them.

Frank- a blue Pleo RB was not a production model and did not have a place for the clock battery or a nice tidy battery compartment.

Pleakly- my pink Pleo RB came already hatched and the box had of course been opened. I also had no response from their customer service and had to contact Pleoworld for help.

While several other buyers from the Gimmedigi website have thought that their Pleo's had also been opened this may have been for quality control.

Please note however that most buyers have been very happy with their purchases from Gimmedigi and their support has been good for some people requiring assistance. This message is not aimed at scaring people away from ordering from Gimmedigi, the problems outlined above may be caused by Gimmedigi's supplier, however please just note that there have been problems and please take this poll into consideration before placing an order. Please also note that Gimmedigi does have a presence on this forum and has offered a discount code to potential buyers and is currently the cheapest way to purchase a Pink or Blue Pleo if you live overseas.

Oslo arrived quickly and brand new. The service was like any other internet supplier. The only issue for me is I've had him on only twice because I'm too afraid of damaging his skin.

Aww OzPleo, best to have him on as much as possible, it is much better to have the wear occur during the warranty period.

So far I am having success with halting the wear just by applying pledge to the armpits before each play so maybe try this.

It is very disturbing to me that someone would get a pleo rb that appears to be something other than what is advertised. As I have purchased many things in recent years over the internet without a problem, I find this really odd. I feel bad for Latrine because I was one that said that I was very happy with the product that I received from gimmiedigi and still continue to be. I hope that her problem can be straightened out.

My experience.
I ordered two RBs from Gimmedigi earlier this year. They delivered them quickly and as-far-as-I-can-tell were never opened.

However they forgot to ship an unrelated $50 item in the order. They won't admit it. I am still having a PayPal dispute with them.
A minor thing in comparison, but that has soured me from ever using them again.

I received a Blue prototype instead of a blue rb and it doesn't seem to actually be an RB at all.. I am not contacting GimmeDigi until we hear from whoever degers is calling..

No way I will ever purchase from them again.

I too had success with ordering two RBs off of Gimmedigi's site. Two separate orders on two separate occasions.

However, after hearing stories from various members, I am not sure I would necessarily order from there again.

I have said this elsewhere, but felt I should add it here, too:

Belle came from Gimmedigi. I did feel the box had been opened, and the battery arrived fully charged, but Belle had definitely not been hatched. I also had an issue with the code sticker having been obviously peeled off another page and stuck into my instruction book, although the serial numbers all matched, and the code came up as invalid when I tried to log into the Pleo Profile on the Hong Kong Pleoworld site.

Having said that, Gimmedigi shipped quickly, responded to my queries intelligently and solved my problem in good time, and overall I'm very pleased with Belle and have no wear issues.

I would buy from them again.

Since I bought Bubble Gum from Gimmedigi, I thought I would add my 2 cents. My Pleo came very quickly. The box itself was ripped, but the seal was in place and the Pleo appeared to be brand new and unhatched. She works fine as far as I can tell.

Ah well I couldn't find anywhere else to get one so I ended up buying my pink one, Rhea, from them again.. she did not have dirty feet, battery was not charged, so I don't believe she was opened or hatched at all but her seams were off and some paint was a little flaky when I opened the box.. That didn't bother me too much, I was just glad she was a PleoRB this time

of course, not that I would use it.. but they never seem to come with the Pleo cape it says they have with them unless you get the green ones. Rhea didn't come with a cape.

I just received Leeloo and some extras from gimmedigi. The box was opened, but I knew this before she arrived, because I got some pictures of Leeloo when she was at Gimmedigi. I sent Gimmedigi a mail with my concerns about used pleo's from them. They made some pictures at their office from Leeloo to show me she is in a good condition and to make sure she is brand new. Of course they had to open the box.

What I noticed is that Leeloo smells like pledge. I do not know if this is normal, since Leeloo is my first Pleo.

By the way, can't wait till the battery is fully charged.

Are you sure it's Pledge and not a paint smell? All of mine come smelling strongly of the paint used on them and it goes away after a few days.

I now have a theory about gimmididgi:
After seeing all the weird little things about gimmididgi, I'm now assuming that they somehow got a hold on the pinks/blues and weren't supposed to, which would correspond with the production model problem, the included things not coming in the boxes and instead coming as "extras", and the pleos that seemed to be tampered with. It would also explain how they mannage to sell them to the U.S.A, when pleoworld has made it clear that the pinks/blues are strictly for asian and are distributed by chinet (or whatever it's called) only. No offense to any gimmididgi buyer though, I almost bought from them as well.

No, it's just that the pinks and blues were a china thing, special colors they released there, there is more than one company selling them legitimately. My original one was bought from them and when it was broken and I was concerned about sending it back to them, I spoke to the guy in the US whose in charge, Dotson, and even though he took care of it, they could have done it as well... he just wanted that one back because it should never have left the US. The pinks and blues are made in Hong Kong just like the green ones. We are allowed to buy them just as long as we don't mind the shipping costs

I was aware they were allowed to be purchased, i didn't think U.S. companies were really supposed to sell them. I knew acessoryjack was also selling them "out-of-company". I knew the pink and blue were china things, i thought they were china exclusives that were supposed to be only sold in china and could be shipped to the U.S. (allthough chinaete refuses to send them to the U.S). It might have only been a mistake, but because of the "tampered" feeling of other's pleos i thought some of the other ones may also be "tested" on allthough they were completed models. Again, it is only my theory it may be just an accident.

Lots of folks who got Pleos from china noticed they had dirty feet and some had already been started hatching.. Some of us thought they were displaying them or running them to show people instead of having specific Pleos for that purpose..

Acessoryjack is in Hong Kong too, wasn't sure if you were saying it was a US place.. whole thing is confusing, isn't it??

I bought my Pink pleo from Chinatete and the accessories came included in the price of pleo like all RB's but they did come in their own little boxes. So I think that is just a pink and blue thing. I guess as they were being made to only really sell in the China region they were doing there best to make the product look attractive to sell and not considering the extra packaging making a difference to shipping costs. For the greens as they are made for Pleoworld to sell online around the world they would have put a little time into considering some packaging options to try to include the accessories into the same box as the pleo for easier shipping.

I do think that Gimmedigi is legit and ok to buy from. They seem to have been just as upset as everyone else to discover that some of their pleos went out with issues and now seem to be offering a quality check before sending your pleo on to you. They will open the box and check the pleo is in good condition cosmetically and take photos to send you to ensure you are happy with the products quality before sending it on to you. So I think they are trying to do everything they can to ensure that they are only sending out good quality merchandise.

That's good, I've recently taken a liking to the greens, but if I ever get a colored one I'll most likely buy it from gimmididgi because chinatete refueses to ship to the U.S.

The "product check" is what concerned me, as before some people felt the pleos had been turned on, but I'm assuming it is because the box was pre-opened. I'm happy that many people who were angry at first put their faith in gimmididgi now. So if I ever get a pink/purple rb it will be from gimmididgi.

Hi, Do you think if i buy from them, now( after April 2011), the new batch would have better skin and other conditions because from what ive read those that bought the earlier batches have many problems like premature wear and tear, fading paint, already hatched so on and so forth.
Have they managed to correct the problems like in pleoworld.? The price for blue pleo now from them is the same as the green pleo from pleoworld.

Yes.

All the pleos both Pink and Blue and the greens are actually made in the same place. The greens are then sent on to America to Pleoworld to sell and the pinks and blues are sold in Hong Kong by Chinatete and also Gimmedigi. Any that have been sold since April have been the newer batch with the improvements and fixes. No problems that we have heard of so far.

When I got Belle from Gimmedigi there was a problem with the codes and I couldn't register her and get her profile on the PleoWorld site, but Gimmedigi sorted it out for me no problem. I believe that was a one-off (or minority) problem - most buyers seem to have been able to register OK.

I ordered my Blue (and Pink) RB from GimmeDigi and both were fine. The Pink RB (ordered in Feb) had the tighter/fixed skin and newer firmware. Cato did not. However, when I e-mailed Invvo asking for the firmware update, they sent it to me without any hassle. Chances are you'll get the newest firmware (or close to it) when you order from them, but if not, Invvo's support has been very helpful in sending it to those who ask. I even got a prompt reply at 8pm Sunday (5pmish Invvo's time if most operations are located on the West Coast).

So I have been pleased with both GimmeDigi and Invvo, and sometimes I can be a critical customer.
