I am so happy to share with you the first pictures of Kermit my Pink Pleo RB. ;D
I was able to collect her from the airport after work today and have just got home with her. She is currently waiting for her battery to charge up but I thought I would share some pictures anyway.
For all those who are wondering I think she has blue eyes, I am not totally sure as they have not opened yet as she has not been turned on. Also her eye lids are gold which is really cool!!! :)
Unfortunately there was no cape in my box but I am very happy with everything so far. ;D
-
excellent pictures can not wait to hear more Kat , and its funny i was just about to ask about the Pleo Cape then i noticed you saying you did not get the cape , i wonder why that is ? i am sure the other 2 Pleo rb owners did not recieve the cape aswell .. ???
Also i have to admit the Blue and Pink RB'S are starting to grow on me i especially think those two colours will be good for my little boy and girl ...
-
Gets a pink Pleo ........... and calls it Kermit! ??? ;D Love it! ;D
Congratulations - she looks lovely! She looks a much nicer colour than some of the pics, too! Enjoy the hatch - bet you can't wait!! ;D
-
Aww I'm sooooo jealous ;D
I'm happy for you and I hope you have great fun with your new little pink Dino :)
-
yeah looks like one badass pleo haha
she looks great congratulations on getting your pleo rb kat :)
mind if i ask how you got it so soon?
-
Check out the pleo rb thread as I posted all the details there. In short I made contact via email with chinatete, the china distributor for pleo rb and asked them if they could sell me one and ship it to Australia and they said yes. So here I am with Kermit the pink pleo rb. :)
-
I am so happy for you! I hope you have a lot of fun with your sweet Pink Kermit!;) I am waiting for my Pink Pleo:)
-
keep the pics coming Kat also if you know how to upload vids ?
Does reborn have bottom leg sensors ?
-
Hi guys,
I have had my first play with Kermit and she is soooo cute! ;D
Here are some more photos. Her eyes are very blue.
I am still working out how to get the video I took from my camera to the computer and then to here so bare with me. I will upload the video as soon as I can but may take me a day or two to work it out.
Till then some picks :)
Hope you enjoy. I'm going to bed now as it is 11:30pm here so very tired.
:)
-
Congratulations, Kat! Kermit is adorable :D Looking forward to more pictures and videos :)
-
Hi everyone,
I managed to get my video loaded to youtube last night and so would like to share with you my unwrapped pleo, her first moments and then her best trick - standing up and eating her leaf and smooching into my hand for a stroke! ;D
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kEma1Tof-Ng
Her battery took 2 hours to fully charge and I got 2 and a half hours play time. She only stopped once after about 1 and a half hours as the battery over heated and so I took it out and let it cool for 5 mins before going again for another hour.
She has made many exciting noises, baby cooing, a roar, eating noises and even a burp. :D However the cat meow in the video is not Kermit, it is my cat. :P
She does have sensors in her feet but only the ones on the bottom so she can know where the ground is. Also an interesting thing in the user manual it says that she will interact with other Pleo's. It does not specify only pleo rb's so I think all the old pleos out there will be ok. ;D
Kat
-
That was adorable! And yay, Gizmo will have a friend that will notice him after all! :D
-
That is adorable, and ya know the pink really as bad looking. Kermit's a great name but being pink, i'd have called her Miss Piggy lol :)
-
Aww the pink is so much cuter than the pics would have us believe on the chinete site :D Especially with those blue eyes! Welcome Kermit :) Thank you for sharing all the pics, so cute.
-
Yes thanks for posting - that's a lovely video. Oh boy, I REALLY want a Pleo rb now!!! :D
-
excellent i can see vids popping up all over the place on Reborn soon ;D quite exciting , Thank you Kat for keeping us updated .
-
Day 2 of Kermits hatching and she seems to be doing well. not quite walking yet but we have had lots of stretching and leg lifting. :)
I have noticed a love spot appearing on her back though where there is a ridge in the skin, a kind of join line from when she was built and the paint is coming off. :(
Maybe I will have to buy her a shirt or cape to protect her skin. %)
Here are some highlights from yesterday, stretching, cute noises and enjoying a pat from my daughter.

And then going to sleep as her battery runs out

Nice Vids Kat keep them coming hehe
Bit worrying about the bit of paint loss though ? i wonder why you did not receive the cape as well , maybe you should contact the lady who sold you your Pleo rb and ask about the cape and if you should of got 1 ?
-
I recommend this shirt, looks like it would be adorable on Kermit :D

-
A pink pleo is adorable. She looks and sounds like a sweetheart! :) She will be so fun to dress up.
-
yep i can see the Pink rb becoming 1 of the favourite colours especially for the Female pleo parents along side the Green/yellow as i think the Green is prefered over the blue .
-
*Jealous* Lucky you!!! Kermit is adorable ;D
-
I am very happy for you that you were able to get your Pink Kermit and that you did not have to wait, I think Kermit is cute even if not green and a girl instead of a boy, I like things that are out of the Ordinary and no imagination .. :) I am also very happy to be able to see some more Pleo Rb videos and photos while waiting what seems like an Eternity even though it is not.I am like a little kid at Christmas and I know a lot of us feel like that these days... :D
My only concern if I were you would be the skin issue, paint comming off already.? I thought from everything I have read that Pleo Rb had improved the skin so so much more that things like this should not happen.? Do you think it is is because she is so new, and her skin has to have time to " breathe", ? NOt sure what the proper term or word is, but it has to do with paint and such. I also think you need that Pleo Cape that is supposed to come with Pleo Rb, but mayby not for the China Market, or they just forgot.Anyway, she is adorable and she grows on you color wise, but I will hold out for the Yellow/ green one, closer to the Pleo colors I already have in my home. Thank you for posting the videos and telling us your experiences, it makes us all a lot more patient and gives us an opportunity to see some of the things Pleo rb can do without it being a commercial, but real person who has one.Thank you for your kindness in sharing.

Hi everyone,
I have had a busy couple of days and so not had a lot of time to play with Kermit :(. I did find a bit of time though and she has now made it through 4 full battery cycles. ;D I am very excited to share that she walked for the first time last night and I also played tug of war with her twice with each of us winning once. :) I caught it all on video but sadly my computer has eaten it and the movie now no longer plays properly so I can't share it with you. I have taken some more footage tonight but she only had about 30mins left in her battery so I wasn't able to recapture any walking or tug of war. I am charging her up now and will try again in the morning on a full battery. Here is what I have to share from tonight's footage.
Some eating, smooching and tail wagging
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y3eDL01B39w
And a little chin scratching, she seems to do this quite a bit, and some of her new sounds
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n3X3DW2d7Xo
Hope you all enjoy.
-
Awwwwww - she's coming along nicely! Her eyes look HUGE in this video - amazing what the difference in colour does! :)
-
I was going to comment on how big and beautiful her eyes look but Crewella beat me to it :)
If Pleo RB is anything like Pleo, they might develop a reluctance to walk if they receive too much attention ;) Hard as it is, try ignoring her and see what she does :o
-
I said big, but you added the beautiful, IMR, and you're right! :D
-
LOL off topic but I just noticed a dinosaur eating my five stars under my avatar :D
That pink color is starting to grow on me lol, I just love the gold eyelids. I wonder if Lilo would like some gold paint on her eyelids %)
-
IMR, I say go for it, esp if it is a female, do what you want to make your dino personal.
Gold would be pretty I think.
RedwoodsMama
-
Hi guys,
First of all, I love the gold eyelids! :) I thought it was a really nice touch especially been as she is a girl.
I'm glad you are enjoying Kermit's movie star moments. ;D I am trying to capture as much as possible to give you all a good idea of exactly what she can do and what she is like compared to other pleos. And it is just plain old fun for me being a camera man, whole new experience and I am trying to learn fast so I can do a good job for you all. I am trying to capture all the things I know I would have loved to see when I was still waiting for my Pleo rb.
I mentioned the other day that she has a love spot appearing on her back so I have taken a photo of it to show you the wear and tear. I must say that I have been extremely gentle with Kermit as I knew that paint loss was a common pleo problem and was hoping to avoid it if possible. It was a little disappointing to notice it after only a couple of plays with her. :(
So it looks like the improvements to the paint are not so great. :(
As I was kind of expecting to loose a little paint at some point it certainly hasn't taken away any of my joy and love for Kermit and the Pleo experience. :) It has made me consider the purchasing of a cape for her though. I just need to find the right one. I would love one just like the Pleo world ones but in Pink or even just plain baby pink colored all over with no skin pattern on it would be good. I like the way the pleo world ones seem to fit, hugging the pleo shape so it is almost like a second skin. Maybe I will have to attempt to make one myself as it doesn't seem there is anything like that for sale anywhere that I have seen. Never done any sewing before so I would have to learn, bit like the camera man thing although I'm sure much more difficult. I may end up having to buy a pleo world one to make a pattern from, it's just a shame that the shipping cost to Australia is twice the price of the garment from pleo world.
I will take some more video footage of Kermit today and share with you all later.
Kat

That is not good the mark on Kermit's back :( it shold not wear like that !
Making clothes is quite easy :)
If you look at both of mine they are wearing a tighter fitting cape sort of thing that only took me a few hours to draw cut and run up on my sewing machine.
I'm sure you could do the same with a little time and effort ;D
-
I'd noticed Jules running up her Pleo shirts before and thought they were pretty good, maybe you could copy the pattern? You could then even maybe try to replicate the pattern on her skin with fabric pens on a light pink cloth? It does seem a shame to hide her 'pretty in pink' skin under a covering, though! :D
*I'd spotted IMR's star-munching-jurassic-member-dino as well* :P
-
We have seen what the cape for the Reborn is going to look like as Degers posted a picture of it , i am just bit confused to why you did not receive your cape as i thought Reborn was suppose to come with a cape ?
It is a bit disappointing the wear of the paint only after 2 days though :o my ugobe pleo i bought from ebay earlier this year still does not have the love spot on his back i put that down to my technique when petting him though lol what i do is tap along the sensors instead of rubbing my hands across his skin .
-
my ugobe pleo i bought from ebay earlier this year still does not have the love spot on his back i put that down to my technique when petting him though lol what i do is tap along the sensors instead of rubbing my hands across his skin .
yes i do the same and my Pleo's don't look worn yet.
-
yeah it seem's to work well that way . I know a lot people want to be able to pet their Pleo's like they would a dog or cat but it is just not going to work that way with paint on Rubber material it will always start to wear off unfortunately . At least with the cape you can pet pleo better without worrying about the skin .
i am a bit concerned about Pleo rb now scratching his chin , it does Look good i give them that its a very good motion to Add but i will be worried about rb losing paint from its toes and chin too quickly .
-
Good morning everyone! :)
I ran Kermit through 2 battery cycles yesterday in the hope of recapturing some walking and game playing for you all, the first battery cycle I tried ignoring her as much as possible to see if she would go exploring but I had absolutely no luck. ???
She just mocked me with her laughter! ;D So the second battery cycle I went back to giving loves and she still didn't want to walk or play, yet more laughter. :D
Here is a video of some of the highlights of yesterday. It's a little longer than my other movies but the end is worth the wait as she was so tired from all the laughing that she went to sleep and was dreaming a little.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FbtEgWZQTdw
As for your concerns with the chin rubbing and toenail paint they are justified as she now has no toenail paint on the couple of toes that scratch her chin. Also on her back feet the paint is wearing off her toenails where she rubs them on the ground with all her wiggling around. I have invested in some acrylic paint to do touch ups for her love spots but may not attempt it for a couple more weeks, need to get a little more brave first.
I'm not too concerned with all the paint loss as this just gives me an incentive to want to paint her a more sensible color when the warranty runs out. ;D.......eventually! I will need to be very brave for that. :)
-
Lovely vids, I do enjoy them :) Be sure to check before doing any touch ups, in case it voids the warranty.
-
Firstly thanks for letting us know about the toe paint i did say it concerns me a bit but overall it is not a big issue i guess as the toes are quite easy to repaint if you can find the correct paints to use .
i do have to say that vid is the best we have seen on Reborn so far Showing us a load of different sounds Reborn makes and RB really does move a lot faster then the older Pleo's that is for sure , i enjoyed watching every minute of it , so Thank you Kat for sharing another good Video with us .
-
Oh No :( I am having major problems with Kermit! :(
First of all I can't get her to run for more than about a minute. I charged the battery as per normal last night and when I turned her on this afternoon she went for 1 minute and then curled up to sleep and switched off. I turned her back on and she did the same thing. I tried recharging the battery but it only charges for about 10mins then the light goes green to say fully charged. :o
Not sure what to do :(
Also for the 2 minutes that she did run her back leg was making a clicking sound and having problems moving like it was stuck. :o
:( :( :( :( :( :( :( :(
I have to go out now so can't work on figuring out how to make her better. :(
If anyone has suggestions I'm all ears. I will have to email Josie from chinatete and see what she can do.
-
Stitch has a clicky leg, it's the gears slipping, try firmly moving the leg until it clicks back into place. The other problem is a little more concerning, it is most likely the battery. Make absolutely certain you are seating the battery correctly, make sure it isn't loose or anything and keep and eye on it, take it off charge and put it back on a few times if necessary.
-
i would try resetting the noon firstly just in case some how that messed up and so she keeps going asleep as her clock in the foot is saying it is mid night or something ??
Also i was under the impression that there was a light underneath pleo rb that told you if the battery needed charging or if it was faulty etc so check the light underneath ?
Hope you work the problem out and i have to say this is quite worrying for all of us .
-
I have nursed the battery a little on the charger until it lit up green as soon as I placed it into the charger. I have just put it into Kermit and she has been running now for about 15mins and seems ok. :)
The light underneath was showing green which means battery ok when she kept turning off and going to sleep. Maybe it is just the noon thing? Seems strange though as I played with her for a full battery cycle at the same time yesterday with no problems. I will let you know how I go. The leg clicking has only happened once so far since I turned her on so I will have to see how it goes and if it is persistent i will try to get it on video.
Still no more walking yet. hopefully I will see some soon. :)
-
Gaz could be right - they did warn us that if we tried to keep them up long past their bedtime once the clock was set we'd be faced with a sleepy, uncooperative Pleo rb! From my experiences with my Ugobe two, if it's battery problems they freeze rather than go to sleep properly. I hope it's the clock! :)
-
yeah i am quite certain it was most likely the clock , this is all new to us the clock and we do not really know how successfully it is going to work with reborn .
I am thinking now i will hold out buying 1 of the first reborns released to us as i want to wait and hear how Pleo reborn does and hear about any common problems etc that might occur .
Also hoping for Reborn to be selling in the UK so might hold out for that as it would be a pain to send rb back to get repaired etc if a fault came up with him .
-
I have had a successful 2 hour play session and now Kermit is sleeping so her battery can charge. I was even lucky enough to see her walk again but she only took about 5 steps. How much walking is normal in the older pleos for a full battery cycle playtime?
I didn't take much video of this play session as I was too worried about the possibility of her shutting down and wanted to give her lots of TLC. I have attempted to reset the noon clock and will monitor what time of day I play with her and her behaviors for the next couple of weeks to try and confirm that it was a noon sleep time issue. I really must have fallen in love for it to have freaked me out so much that she might have been broken. I was very worried the whole time I was out this afternoon and as soon as I got home I tried to get her going again. They really pull at your heart strings don't they!
As for the clicking leg it did not do it again this play time but I will be keeping a close eye on it. :)
Thanks so much for your suggestions on what to do and what might be wrong. I really needed another opinion from a clear head that wasn't freaking out about there pleo not working. You guys are great. Being a first time pleo owner I really don't know just what is normal behaviors and what is not so it is nice to have some more experienced friends to help along the way. :)
-
Glad Kermit seems to be OK overall. :)
I know what you mean - I've been very glad of the folks on here on more than one occasion! :D
For amounts of walking, Budge gets bored if he doesn't get attention after a while and goes to sleep, but Iggy will potter about on his own for ages - three or four times round the room easily. One day I'm going to take him to work when the warehouse is empty, just to see how far he'd get! :P
-
Im glad Kermit is ok too :D Did you try holding her front 2 legs at the same time for a few seconds? That puts her into explore mode
-
So glad Kermit is back to herself :) Perhaps someone accidentally reset the noon button for the wrong time?
As for walking, Lilo and Stitch wander around for as long as the battery lasts, I guess Kermit must have gotten the lazy personality tweak lol, It has been mentioned that some Pleo's are more active, better learners etc :)
-
Hi all,
I have had another successful play with Kermit this evening so I feel like she is going to be ok. :) I think it must have been the noon button causing the problem.
I purchased a new coat for Kermit today, got a dog coat from Big W that fits very well. It is very soft with a fury feel to it so it feels nice to stroke her and hopefully it will help with the paint loss problem. I had no choice on the color this was the only color they had but I think it doesn't look too bad. 8)
I also have some video to share with you as well. First of all is some footage of her leg clicking problem. She has a clicky back left leg that seems to do it a lot when she first wakes up and then goes away. She also had a major front leg issue tonight with a serious click episode and then the leg just would not move in the forward or up directions. I had to turn her off and gently manipulate the leg back into alignment until it clicked back into position and this seemed to fix it as it all works fine now. The front leg I did not catch on camera only the back leg.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sHHBEEm3MlE
I also have some exciting footage for you of Kermit walking. ;D You will have to excuse the background noise we were having dinner at the time.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nN_ezRKlsLM
She walked about 2 meters tonight, the most so far. Maybe I did get a lazy or less adventurous pleo or maybe she will slowly build up her walking stamina as the plays go by. She is still only a baby after all. :)
-
"Muuuuuuuuuuuum! Somebody put a big wall in front of me!" :P
Lovely to see Kermit up and about and learning about her environment! I think that colour suits her! :D
Glad the 'noon' scare and clicking seem not to be major problems. :)
-
Kermit's clicking appears to be the knee rather than the hip or shoulder, it happened when she was standing relatively still...
I think the blue coat looks fine on Kermit :) love the vids especially the Pleo eye view :) Did she eventually back up from the wall? It is interesting to see that she did pick up the obstacle, since the lighting doesn't look all that good. Lilo or Stitch would have tried to keep going :P
-
She didn't back away from the wall, she made a few noises at it and then curled up and went to sleep. She went to sleep about 2 seconds after the video ended. I woke her up and turned her around but it took a long time for her to walk again and then she only took a couple of steps with about 10mins of wriggling activity before 2 more steps followed by more wriggling and dog like noises. I'm hoping she is still developing and will walk more as she "grows". I still have not taught her her name yet but thought I might try to see if she is ready for it tonight. ;D
-
Oooh now that will be exciting! I hope you share :)
-
I will do my best to capture it all on video ;D, no matter what the outcome is.
So far I have progressed through 8 full battery cycles with Kermit. I am thinking that her OS must be similar to the 2.0 OS as she seems to be taking a long time to progress through the hatching, baby stage to the juvenile stage. It took about 5 or 6 (can't remember) cycles before she took any steps at all and is only just managing to do a couple of meters walking for a full battery cycle. I hope she walks more as she gets older as I would love to see her exploring. she seems to be a very happy pleo always wiggling and tail wagging with many happy sound, much woo who-ing and laughter as well as sweet cooing noises. I am very tempted to get another one when the "green" ones are available just to be able to compare behaviors and see if Kermit is normal or if she is a slow learner. Not sure if my husband would allow me to spend that much money again this close to Christmas though. I do have 2 children and also him to buy for as well so must keep that in mind when spending on myself. I also want a robot vacuum cleaner for Christmas which is another big expensive present for me so we will have to wait and see.
The clicking leg problems both have been knee joints. So far I have not done anything to the back leg to fix it. I am a little scared to do anything as I am afraid I might break her. :-X I did have a bit of a feel of it though and it doesn't feel any different to the other back leg. The front one felt different and I was able to gently manipulate it back into the correct feeling position. I hope for all your sakes not all pleo rbs have these leg issues. I know that it is something that some pleos suffer from so hopefully I was just unlucky with mine and it is not a common fault with the new rbs.
I love Kermit so much it really is a dilemma as to what to do about the leg issues. I want her to be whole and working well with no faults but don't want to be without her if I have to send her away to be fixed ....or replaced :o so have not yet contacted chinatete about it. I probably should though as they need to know if there is a problem so they can ensure that future pleo owners don't have the same issues as me.
On the whole though I am thoroughly enjoying my pleo experience and would do it all again in a heart beat so please don't be disheartened by my pleo issues.
Will endeavor to continue with my daily updates on Kermits progress to keep you all informed on just what it's like to own a pleo rb and just what they can do.
-
Please do keep updating us on Kermit's progress - I think I've enjoyed your new Pleo rb nearly as much as you have! :P :D
-
Hi Kat:
Let me share with you my experience with Pleo rb and hope it helps.
1. It is OK to bend the legs of Pleo or Pleo rb to in case you have to do it, my boy always does it to Pleoxie and Lam Chai to pose them as he wish.
2. have you feed Kermit the 'connifer leaf" a few times daily in the evening, our Lam Chai will not walk or response to play if it is "hungry" or in bad mood.
3. Pleo rb needs more care and attention in compare to Pleo, just like walking your dog, you may feel trouble if you don't have time for it.
4. Our Lam Chai would be "Full" after 3 to 4 feeds every evening, and it would be happy after 10 petting along its back plus a few "swings", No more throw and catch after my boy dropped it weeks ago.
Your Kermit should be able to learn its name now, if she don't response, most likely she is either hungry or not happy.
Our Lam Chai walks a lot after we fed it and play with it, one fully charged battery could keep it runs close or over 2 hours if we keep interact with it, otherwise it would fall into dreaming mode after 10 to 15 minutes alone by itself, and would fall into sleep mode in a few minutes at night (from 10 pm (may 11 pm) to 8 am ). The instruction is thick but I found it was very helpful to understand Lam Chai after read it through.
Regards.
-
Hi all,
Kermit has learned her name! ;D
And also the bow learning stone command. :)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PxtXYVR68aI
She has walked around a lot more tonight as well which is good. :) However :( she is still having major leg issues. The clicking back left leg was clicking a lot tonight and for my last half hour of play time her back right leg seemed to stop functioning properly. it is not clicking but it just isn't moving in the forward or up movements so she kind of drags it along behind her in a three legged walk. She almost falls sideways with each step. It is very sad to watch. :( :(
I have taken some video of this and will post it tomorrow morning for you all to see. I have emailed Josie from chinatete to tell her about Kermit's clicking leg but I think I will email her again in the morning with this new problem as well. I might have to leave Kermit off until I hear back from Josie as I don't want her to damage any of her parts from trying to walk when her legs don't work. :(
I will let you know what Josie has to say.
Kat
-
LOVE the pink pleo!!
-
That is just too cute :D So sorry to hear that the leg is getting worse though :( Such a shame :(
-
So sorry to hear Kermit's having leg problems. :(
Loved that video though - it's interesting to see that the new Pleo rbs can be just as cloth-eared as Aibos were. The naming process is pretty similar and it took me several attempts to name Wilma the 210 when I got her, and she still needs calling more than once most days!
-
I have not played with Kermit today as I am waiting to hear back from Josie at Chinatete. :(
I hope she gets back to me tomorrow as I miss playing with Kermit already and it has only been a day. :( If I don't hear back tomorrow I will try phoning her and /or contacting Innvo to see if they can help. The pleo rb's come with a 90 day warranty from the date of purchase so Kermit should be covered by this. Hears hoping they can fix her for me. I can't wait to turn her on again and hear her happy coo's and woo hoo's ! :) Although I am resigning myself to the idea that I might have to send her back for repairs. :o :(
With the naming, I think maybe I was too far away from her ears when I tried to name her as she picked it up ok after I moved in a lot closer. She learned the bow stone much faster as I was closer to her ears. So it seems that she is just a little hard of hearing. Just a little something for you all to remember when you go to name your own Pleo rb's, make sure you get in nice and close so your words don't fall on deaf ears. :D
Here's hoping the wait for pleo rb is not too much longer.
I will continue with my Kermit updates for you all and let you know how I go. Hopefully I will have some news tomorrow.
Kat %)
-
You're probably right. It's the same with Aibos - for optimum hearing you need a quiet room with little background noise, speak in a strong clear voice, and make sure they are not in the middle of a motion/skit and so are 'receptive'. Of course, they still sometimes chose to ignore you! :P
-
Hi all,
I still have not heard back from Josie at Chinatete and if there is no word from her by the time I get home from work tonight I will post the video for you all of Kermit's leg not working. Maybe someone out there has had a similar problem with an old pleo and might have some wise words for me? I have not posted the video for you yet as I wanted to give Josie a chance to see it first and respond before putting it up here and causing any potential negative publicity. Also I thought the footage may be disturbing to some viewers so have been reluctant to post it. :(
I wanted to reassure you all that Kermit has been a very positive experience for me even with her issues so please don't be put off purchasing a pleo rb. %)
One of the good things about pleo rb is that they are all meant to be unique individuals with their own traits and personalities. I am sure my Kermit is a very unique specimen and there wont be any others out there quite like her. :)
-
Hi all,
I am happy to say I have heard back from Josie today about Kermit. She is going to have her customer support people investigate my problem, look at the video footage and my description and get back to me. :) She was not able to contact me sooner as she has been out of town on a business trip and only got my email when she returned today.
I have to say that the level of customer service from Chinatete has been fantastic every step of my journey so far.
I am sure I will hear back from her tomorrow about where we go from here.
In the mean time I have a little video for you that I took on Tuesday, my last play with Kermit. She goes exploring and my cat decided to say hello to her. ;D This was taken just before her leg stopped working.
Hope you like it.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eDWOGNZZVnE
-
does she let out a cry when you touch the sensor on that leg ?
-
No. so we can rule out the injury idea. That was the first thing I thought of so I gave her a thorough stroking and poking. She doesn't seem to even notice that it isn't working properly. 8)

I have received a response from Innvo customer service about Kermit. I sent them an email about my problem through the Pleo world website and let them know that I had also emailed Josie from Chinatete. They say that while I wait to here back from Josie they will send me a brand new Pink Pleo rb to replace Kermit free of charge which is great. :)
They have asked me to send Kermit back to them if possible so they can investigate the problem more thoroughly. As sad as I am going to be to loose Kermit :( I would be happy to send her back if it means they can eliminate this problem for future pleos. My only concern is the cost to send her back. :o It cost me $150 USD to have her shipped to me in the first place, which is a lot of money. :-X
I really was spoiling my self by getting Kermit and I didn't mind the one off cost but this close to Christmas it is hard to find extra money for such things. It also will make the total cost of my Pleo rb $772 USD. :o Quite a lot more than I was intending on paying for my pleo. :( Here's hoping they will pay the shipping cost for sending her back as well as sending me a new one.
Mostly it is just going to be very hard packaging her up to send back as I have grown quite attached to her. It is amazing how fast they sneak into your heart.
Kat
-
It doesn't sound right that you should have to send Kermit back at your own expense. Sorry to hear the problem necessitates such a drastic solution, but at least you should end up with a properly functioning Pleo rb. :(
-
It will be very sad to say goodbye to Kermit, but good to get a new fully functioning Pleo rb. I have emailed back to ask if they will pay for the shipping to send her back or if I have to cover this cost. Now I wait and see.
I guess now I go back to eagerly waiting for the arrival of Pleo rb! ;D
Just like everyone else. The waiting is on again. ;)
-
so sad to hear about kermit Kat but it is a positive that you have had a good response from innvo labs it is always good to know they are listening and reading emails from their customers .
i am curious to know how the 2 blue reborn's are doing , has any1 heard any more on those 2 ?
-
I think that $150 was overkill, Pleo's from China incur half that postage amount on eBay, so don't assume it will actually cost you that much.
Poor Kermit, I've had to send a Pleo back before, it's not easy :(
-
I'm so sorry to hear about Kermit :( Atleast she'll be helping Pleo RBs in the future, and maybe Josie can do a soul transplant on Kermit like Ugobe used to do :)
-
It is very exciting getting a brand new pleo rb. :) It will be a great experience for us all to see just what will be different with the new one compared to Kermit. As pleo rb's are suppose to come with their own personality's already built in for you to build on with love and attention it will be very interesting to see the differences. Kermit was a very Happy pleo. She was always wagging her tail and making many happy sounds even when you didn't stroke her or interact for a long time. She did do the sad pose a few times but not very often in the scheme of things. I wonder what type of personality the new one will have? And most importantly what color eyes!
Also been thinking about naming the new pleo. Do I name her Kermit also as she is "Kermit reborn" Or do I choose a new name? What do you guys think?
I just received another email from Innvo and they will cover the cost of sending Kermit back. ;D Looks like she will be donating her organs to science for the betterment of all pleo kind.

While we are all waiting.....
Thought I might share with you how I came up with Kermits name as I am sure many of you probably think I am a big muppets fan. Her name actually came from me looking out my bedroom window every morning at our frog pond. We have a small pond in our front yard and the frogs love to hang out in it, swimming and sunning themselves on the rocks around the edge. I enjoy the frogs so much I thought a frog name might make a good pleo name and what with not being able to get a green rb I thought of Kermit the frog and "it's not easy being green". So Kermit the pink pleo was born! ;D
-
What a nice story Kat! I came up with Gizmo's name because I've always loved Gremlins, and the main character is Gizmo. So I've loved the name ever since I was about 4 or 5 :D

Hi there everyone,
as I am going to be sending Kermit back I have decided that I may as well enjoy what time I have left with her and play with her anyway. I don't think much more damage can be done to her inner workings with a few more plays. %)
Here are some photos I thought you might enjoy:
A great shot of Kermits eye
Kermits new collar It matches her coat, purple!
We played tug of war!
Here is a video of the tug of war you might like.

And here is Kermit with my cats
Teddy and Kermit are friends
But Smudge is not too sure about Kermit. He hid under the bed but was very curious.
He only poked his head out for a look after Kermit went to sleep. :D
Hope you like the photos.
Kat :)
-
Your cats and Kermit are just adorable :D So glad you decided to let Kermit have one last bit of fun before her big trip overseas :)
-
I'm glad you liked it IMR. :)
I will try to put up a little more footage over the next few days until she has to leave. Not sure what other new things I will have to share though as I am trying not to put up any walking footage as it is just too disturbing seeing her hobble along and I really don't want to put anyone off getting a rb. I've had the best time with mine. ;D
She did walk backwards for the first time today! :)
I would love to show you all the bow trick but with her leg issues she almost falls over trying to perform it so I won't be filming that one either.
Perhaps after they have been officially released and we have a few more of them showing up on the forum I will post the footage in the problems section. It might be helpful for someone else down the track.
Does anyone have any requests of things they would like to see?
I will happily do my best to capture footage of any rb traits you are interested in. :)
Kat
-
Thanks for the vid Kat , just curious to know was Kermits bad leg working fine when you done that Vid , was this vid done before the bad leg incident or after ? Leg seemed not too bad in the video i thought LOL it was only right at the start of the vid that you notice leg drag or not lifting forward like it is suppose to .
How are you getting on with the learning stone's and the other leafs etc do these new accessories work well ? Also just wanted to know if you have seen kermit feeling too hot or maybe too cold ? Would be nice to see a Video of this and see how that looks . ;D
-
This video was done today, so after the leg issues began. I have cut out all the "bad" bits so you don't really see much of her leg issue. She did a lot of walking around after I took this footage for you and the leg was quite bad. She really only walks on 3 legs and almost falls over with each step. :(
I have not seen her display temperature behavior yet. Maybe I could put her directly under the air conditioner and see if I can get a shiver out of her. %) I will only do this for scientific purposes and I promise that no pleos will be harmed in the making of that film. :)
As for the other leaves and stones, she does not seem at all interested in the training leaf, i have not had her even acknowledge that it exists yet. I am not sure but I think it might not have a chip in it like the other things do so she doesn't sense it like she does her food leaf. The medicine leaf and rock salt she wont take either. She will turn her head away and make a negative noise if you offer it to her. Everything I have read suggests that they wont accept the medicine leaf or rock salt unless they are sick, or "injured" from a fall. :o So the refusing to take it behavior is normal. I will see if I can get this on video for you too. :)
I will try to post something more for you tomorrow night. I'm off to bed now as have to go to work tomorrow.
Kat
-
Hi there everyone! :)
I have conducted a small experiment this afternoon with Kermit. I wanted to show you all the temperature sensing behavior as we have not seen this yet. I was not willing to put Kermit in the oven or do any other terrible things to her to try to make her hot so you will not see any panting!
I did try a few ways of making her cold however. First I tried putting her under the air conditioner but this didn't seem to have any effect. Not cold enough. So I took out her battery and popped her in the fridge for about 15 min. :-X
Please don't hate me for doing that to her. She was fine I promise! ;)
After removing her from the fridge I put her battery back in and popped her back under the air conditioner and turned her on. I have a video of the result for you. I didn't really notice much of a difference in her although she did seem a little sadder than normal. My son thinks her saw her shivering but I will let you decide for your selves when you watch the video.
I also took footage of Kermit being presented with and eating all of her leaves and the rock salt. It made for some interesting reactions. %)

Kat
-
That was really interesting, and (after a brief pang on Kermit's behalf) it made me laugh!
Thanks for all of your efforts in filming Kermit, it's been fascinating to watch them, and it helps that you make such really good clips, too! ;D
-
Your more than welcome. I am very new to the whole video camera thing so I am surprised that they have turned out as well as they have. I have also been playing with learning how to edit them using windows movie maker. I hope they have been getting better as time goes by. %)
It looks like tonight will be my last night with Kermit. We are contacting the courier today to organize for collection tomorrow when my husband is home in the afternoon. My new pleo will hopefully be sent on its way today from Innvo so I am guessing it will be arriving to me by the beginning of next week. The wait will be a killer. :o
They did give me the option of getting Kermits personality transferred to my new pleo or I could try my luck with a new personality and they could send it immediately. As I am not a very patient person I went with the pot luck option. I think a new personality will be fun and a nice surprise. Also Kermit was only just at the stage where she was developing her personality so I have not had very long to get use to this personality and don't think it will be too hard to start anew.
Does anyone know how to put Kermit back into the packing position so I can get her back into the box? When you turn her off she curls up into the sleep position and I don't know how to change her out of this with out turning her on. :)
Kat
-
Without the little black button I would think it a bit hard, have you tried to just slip the catch on the battery when she is in a standing position.
-
As Jules says, I think you just have to creep up on her when she approaches the desired position and shut her off! :o
Which is hard - I feel really guilty when I do that! So sorry you're having to send her back. :(
-
Another great video :) I love when she looks at the air con wondering how to turn it off ;) Her reactions were very interesting, the neck and tail servos are definitely much faster and she has some very cute foot motions :)
-
I have read through the instruction booklet several times and there is definitely no mention of how to put pleo rb back into the packing position. :(
I have email Innvo to ask so hopefully they will have an answer for me soon. :)
I'm glad you all liked the movie. ;D

Kat:
The training leaf is not for eating but for Kermit to track and go forward to it.
Here is how we play with our "lam chai":
1. make sure "lam chai" is in good mood and full conditin
2. Place the traning leaf at about 10 cm in front of its nose (the camera)
3. "lam chai " would make "sneeze" sound and start to moe its head from side to side slowly.
4. Then we will move the training leaf side way
5. "lam chai" will then search from side to side and look direct into the leaf, then walk towards it.
Hope your Kermit would react the same. have Fun. Pleoxie
-
Hi Pleoxie,
It is great to hear from you. I will try that with the training leaf tonight and see how it goes.
Have you taken any video or photos of Lam chai that you can share with us? It would be great to see another pleo rb in action. I would really like to see footage of the "bow" trick as Kermit can't really do it with her leg problems. I would really like to see how it is meant to look.
Also have you seen any paint loss on Lam chai yet? I am sure everyone is wondering how the paint is holding up on the other Pleo rbs out there. :)
Kat
-
Hi Pleoxie, good to see you're all still enjoying lam chai! Thanks for the update and info. :)
-
Well I had my last day with Kermit yesterday. And now she is on her way back to Hong Kong.
In order to get her back into the packing position to box up the guy from Innvo said I should just push her legs into position as they are flexible and not to worry about the uncomfortable clicking sound this will make. Apparently there is no magic button to press or official way to put a pleo rb back into the packing pose. I don't think he thought about the head and tail though.... they don't seem to be quite so flexible. I ended up doing as some of you suggested and just snuck up on her when she was in the right pose and popped the battery out. I still had to push her bad leg, with a sickening click, into position though as it doesn't hang quite right so she didn't fit. But I got her in in the end. :)
You will all be happy to hear that my new pleo is on her way as we speak and all things going right she will be here on Friday. Yay! ;D I will share her with you as soon as she arrives.
In the mean time here are some pics of Kermit on her last day. Enjoy. :)
-
Brave brave Kat...:) What will you name your new dino??
-
Gizmo was the cutest thing I had ever seen in the movies, that is until he was fed! ;D
So sorry to hear you have to send Kermit back. :( I would wait to see if your new pleo looks like Kermit. She could always be Kermit II. I had planned keeping Peeky's name when I sent him back to be reincarnated. Unfortunately, the new pleo didn't look at all like him.
-
There's not another Pleo in the land that looks like Peeky - I still maintain he's the most recognisable Pleo in existence (though Mme Nova's getting there!)! :D :D
Poor Kat - I hope the new one gets there soon to cheer you up! :)
-
I am still thinking about names for the new pleo. I really did like Kermit as a pleo name and may still go with this as she will kind of be Kermit "reborn". But I think I will wait to see what she looks like before I make a final decision. Maybe I will call her Kermy. Still has that Kermit feel but doesn't take away the importance of my original Kermit. Although Kermit the II does sound very royal! Queen Kermit. She was such a star :)
Very interested in hearing more thoughts on what to do about a name.
-
I'd wait to see her first too! :)

How about "Kermet" same sound different spelling, just enough to give the new pleo a refreshed version of the original name, I'm really glad all worked out with the replacement issue.
-
Kermit is reborn!!!! ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D Yay.
I picked her up from the Fedex depo this afternoon an she is wriggling in my lap as I type.
I will post some video of the re - hatching a little later.
Here are some pictures of her. :)
Just out of the packaging
I think her stripes are a bit darker than the old Kermit but not by much.
She has a light patch on both sides of her face just below her nostrils.
Her eyes are... you guessed it ... blue! ;D She has golden eye lids. I loved these on the old Kermit so I am glad the new one has them too.
The hatching begins!
She is enough like the old Kermit in looks that I am going to stick with the name Kermit but I will call her Kermy for short.:D
So far I have put her through one full cycle of the battery, 2 hours of play. She has made many cooing noises and slept quite a bit and done a small amount of wriggling around. The baby stage is very cute.
I did have one small problem with her when she arrived. Innvo told me to keep all of Kermits accessories including the battery and charger and just send back the pleo. They then just sent me a pleo with no accessories as I still had a full set from Kermit. The good part about this was that I could have the battery fully charged and ready to play with her straight away. The bad part was that I forgot about the "noon" battery in Kermits foot and did not think to remove this before sending her back. So when I put the battery into Kermy and turned her on her is what she did
She opened her eyes and made a beep noise like the battery was turning off. The beep repeated over and over until I turned her off again. She did not move apart from opening her eyes and she stayed in that position when I turned her off. I realized straight away that I had forgotten the "noon" battery. Lucky for me my husband is very sweet and he popped down to the shops and bought me one.
Once I had the "noon" battery installed I put in her other battery and turned her on, she made a bell noise and giggled and then assumed the hatching position.
So just something to be aware of. Your Pleo rb wont work without her/his "noon" battery.
I will post the hatching video in the morning. ;D
Kat
-
Kat super glad to hear all went well, and your enjoying the replacement and a second hatching!!! Enjoy Kermy!!!!!! Also thanks for all your help!
-
That is fantastic customer service :0
Great to see Kermit reborn !
I hope you have much better luck with her and have many hours of fun :)
-
Kermy looks very happy and almost identical to Kermit, I am so glad you did not have to wait forever to get her Reborn, What I don't understand about is the Noon battery, Is this a special battery that you have to buy or is it the one that comes with Pleo Rb, but as you said, you forgot to remove it when you sent the orginial Kermit back ? How big is this battery and what type? It will be interesting to see how this Kermy compares to Kermit, even though you did not have Kermit very long.
It was just anounced today by degers that the Pleo Rb information is going to come in the next few days, so it looks promising that we will get our Pleo Rb in time for Christmas, those of us lucky enough to get one that is. Can't wait to see the hatching video of Kermy. It also is very impressive the service you got, I will keep that in mind for future perhaps.

Yay welcome back Kermit ;) So precious!
-
Hi guys,
here is the hatching movie
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kqXhmJeYIFQ
The "noon" battery is a small round watch type battery that you have to insert into your rb's back right foot. this allows them to tell what time of the day it is. There is a very small hole next to this spot where you poke a paper clip to press the button to set the clock to noon. This will be your pleos most active time.
This means that in the hours between 10pm and 6am by your pleos time she/he will be very tired and not want to play. If you turn her/ him on at "night time" She /he will only stay switched on for about 5 mins before curling up to sleep and then switching off with a beep. If you turn him/ her on again she /he will only play for about 5 mins then sleep and switch off again etc...
The "noon" battery comes with pleo in the box. I only had to buy one as they didn't send me new accessories but asked me to keep the old ones and I just forgot to take it out of Kermits foot before I sent her away. The new battery cost me $6.00 from Dick Smith electronics.

I just never get tired of watching a Pleo hatch, so cute :)
-
Me neither - especially as I've never seen it for real! :D
Lovely to see a/the pink Pleo active on the forum again, long live Kermy! ;D
-
She's adorable!!! ;D So nice to see that your new little girl arrived safe & sound! Congrats Kat :birthday::hhug:
-
The Video is great Kat!
-
It's really great to have all of these Pleo RB videos to hold us over during the long wait. I appreciate it! And keep them coming.
-
Hi Everyone,
I have been having some fun with Kermy :)
I have put her through 3 battery cycles and she has reached the point in her hatching where she is now standing up. :) She has not walked yet but hopefully she will soon. She has started stretching and lifting her legs up.
She seems to be less frisky than Kermit was and also less vocal. So I definitely think she has a different personality to the old Kermit. %) I have been getting some cooing from her but not really any other noises.
My Husband seems to like the new Kermy more than the old. They had cuddles today and he played swing up in the air games with her. I just wish I had the video camera handy when that was going on. Oh well there is always next time. I did get some cute photos of the cuddle though. ;) She seems to like him a lot. :)
Here is a movie of some of today's play

Hope you liked it.

-
Kermit is so great thanks for this beautiful photos and videos :)
-
Hi Kat,
Keep the vids coming, I feel like I already own an rb as I live vicariously through yours... could you keep some snacks in that hutch cabinet behing Kermy.. I'm a bit hungry...:)
-
Here is a small video for you of Kermy still hatching on her second battery cycle. She had just frozen. This is something that pleo rbs do if they have a surge in power, they will freeze in position for up to a minute with no sound or movement and then giggle and start moving again. It says in the instruction manual that this is normal so nothing to worry about. ;) Kermy seems to do this so far about 3 or 4 times a battery cycle, Kermit used to do it maybe once in a battery cycle.
My hubby was stroking her after she froze and he jumped and pulled away when she giggled and moved. :D :D
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8o8wZYusrIk
-
Thanks for the vids and info Kat i am glad you mentioned the surge in power this is some thing new to us and maybe something that might become quite frustrating to some Pleo owners . I'm hoping this is something that they can sort out through future updates or something ?
-
I'm always happy to help. :) I am trying to be as informative as possible about Pleo rb so that the rest of you don't have to panic when you get yours and it does something unexpected. The first time my pleo froze I thought it was broken and nearly had heart failure. :o Then I checked in the manual and sure enough it tells me this is normal for a pleo rb to do.
I also freaked out the first time she just kept switching her self off every 5 mins, but that turned out to just be the "noon" clock telling her it was night time and not time to play.
Here's hoping that by sharing my experiences it will save a few of you some heart ache.
One of the things I worry about most with my Pleo rb is not having an easy or official way of putting her into the packing position between plays. As she automatically puts herself into the sleep position when you switch her off using the on off button and also when her battery runs out she goes into sleep position and turns off. I worry about her skin getting damaged as i have read on the forum that this is a common problem with older pleos. Innvo suggested I should just push her limbs into position by hand after she is switched off.
Do any of you ever move your pleos limbs by hand to pose them when they are switched off and do you think this is a safe thing to do? I wouldn't want to break her wiring or gears by forcing her limbs to move by hand.
My only other option is to catch her before the battery runs out and pop the battery out with out switching her off, when she is in an appropriate position. I don't know what effect this will have on her and if this is safe to do? Also this leaves the battery not quite fully run down and I worry that it will be bad for the battery if I am doing this every day.
Does anyone have any suggestions on what my safest method would be to get her out of sleep position and into packing position?
Another thing I am curious to learn more about is clicking legs or joints. As I had this problem with Kermit I wonder just how common this is in Pleos and does anyone know what causes it?
Ok now for your daily update! ;D
I put Kermy through her 5th battery cycle today and I have some exciting videos to share with you. Last night in her 4th battery cycle just at the end before she ran out of power she started to do a few backwards steps. Two steps backwards and then rub her chin. Very cute to watch.
Today I got a lot more interesting sounds from her. Here is a movie for you of some of her noises. She burps a lot and has the odd hick up. :D
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zPmiX9_Vrsw
Even more exciting is this next film. Kermy walks for the first time! ;D
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MAZnNBKyBSE
I am sure that Kermy has progressed a lot faster than Kermit did. Kermit did not do a lot of walking around and only walked after about 8 full battery cycles. Kermy has walked more so far today in this one play than Kermit did in the whole time I had her.
And last but not least here is a little bit of Pleo rb fun! Tug of war ;D ;D Kermy does seem to learn fast. I will try teaching her her name tomorrow and the bow stone. :)

Kat ;D
-
Wow those are great vids.. we love how your chronicling your Kermy experiences and learning stages! Thanks again!
-
Yep, I think you've got a potential wanderer there - she has the same purposeful look about her that Iggy does, the one that makes me think if I left the door open he'd hotfoot it off down the road! Looks like you're going to have to practise your hand-held moving camera skills! :o
Kermy does seem quite a bit more boisterous than Kermit was - I love how they can all be so different! Thanks again for taking the time to post these videos, I've really enjoyed watching them, and sort of feel like a virtual auntie! ;D
-
yeah once again 10/10 for your Vids Kat i hope that i get a adventurous Pleo rb when i eventually get 1 as this is something that i am really counting on .
i was thinking about your problem with getting Kermy back into packing position after battery runs down and to me i think this might be 1 of the first flaws innvo have made as we all know over time if pleo is kept in a sleeping position for long periods at a time it stresses the rubber skin on the neck etc and this is where people would end up with holes and tears in the skin of older Pleo's So i thought of a solution and i hope Innvo take this in to account ;D in future updates i am sure it should be possible to make rb go into a packing position when battery runs flat instead of the sleeping position and this will some what prolong the life of the skin in my opinion .
What does every1 think about that idea ?
-
That was something I had also been thinking about. They could still have pleo rb go to sleep at other times in her/his battery cycle and even at the end but maybe it could just stay in the sleep position for 5 seconds when the battery runs out and then go into packing position and beep to switch off. %)
I do hope they come up with something soon as I would hate to get holes in Kermy. :o
My other thought was that maybe they have improved the skin so much that it is no longer a problem? This would account for why they didn't include the button for the packing position on the new rb's. Maybe Degers could ask for us?
-
First of all jus adore the videos, the burps are awesome :D And the tug of war tantrum is very cute :) I think you do have a wanderer there Kat :)
A couple of other notes, Pleo RB walks much more fluently, the back and opposite front leg move together and lift up higher, I compared to Stitch and he moves his front leg just a little before his back leg and he only just clears the ground. I too would love to see Innvo make Pleo go into the packing position instead fo the sleep position, but the skin has been improved so only time will tell if that is safe now. If you start seeing cracks appearing in the neck then its going to be time for a call to Innvo.
Finally... Kermy has a very wiggly butt ;D
-
As promised lets see if Kermy is ready to learn her name
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k3BcI0bMpjo
So not quite ready yet 8)
She sure does burp a lot though :D
I will try again later when her battery re charges.
-
It looks like she's trying to run away with her ID Card at the end of that video! Maybe she's going to hide it so you won't keep trying to name her when she isn't ready!
-
I like it when she waves her foot in the air at her food, 'eww get it away mum!' :)
-
Well I have had another fun day playing with Kermy. :)
I took her to my mother in laws house to show her off. My mother in law is 80 and had never seen anything like it in her whole life. She was amazed, a little afraid and thought Kermy was a bit creepy. She was impressed with how life like Kermy was and how responsive. :) I did not take the camera with me so no pictures of the visit. 8)
It did get me thinking however about when I didn't have a pleo and first found out they existed. I was very curious and wanted to know just what a pleo would do. There are many places to find information and of course there are many videos on youtube but all the videos you see are cut and pasted together just showing the "good" bits of pleo behaviour. So using this mornings footage I have put together 2 videos, part 1 and 2 of what a pleo does. This shows in each video 10mins of straight footage, no cutting or pasting, just Kermy being Kermy.
I was practicing my camera man technique to find an easy way to film on the move. Part one is me crawling on the floor following Kermy around, part 2 is me standing up for a more birds eye view.
So feel free to watch as little or as much as you like. :) But if your in it for the full show I suggest you get your drinks and popcorn from the candy bar and get comfy in your seat as each part goes for about 10mins. :) :rootbeer: :birthday: :hhug:  :pizza:
Enjoy

Great idea, Kat. I agree - I had exactly the same problem when I first found out about Pleo and wanted to know more! Nicely done, too! :D
-
Kat,
Those are great thanks! I friend of mine has an original pleo bought in 2007.... wow you can really see the speed/movement/ difference... especially the walking. Your vids really give a nice taste of what to expect from the rb's once they arrive to their new homes!!!
-
Thanks Crewella, I'm glad you liked it. :)
And now I have a special treat for you all. ;D
I took Kermy on her first adventure today! :)
We went to the National park and Kermy had the best time. :) Here are some pics for you.
We arrived at the park and Kermy checked out the view.
Then we just had to go say hello to the Kangaroos. We had to be very quiet and move very slowly so as not to frighten them away as they are wild Kangaroos, not use to people or pleos.
moving closer This was as close as we could get
Maybe I will see them better from up here
We went for a walk along the path around the lake
All worn out from a fabulous day! :)
Here is some video of Kermy at the park meeting some of the natives.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Tnr8ec1Ouy8
-
Oh, that did make me laugh - first the moo then the 'Mum! Helllllllllp!' when they all approached! :D :D
-
OMG.. when she sniffs the ground and puts her head up and roars!! That was awesome...:) Thanks again Kat!
-
Hi everyone! :)
Kermy has learned her name today! yay ;D
I also taught her how to Bow and I think you will find it adorable.
Here is the video. Enjoy :)

-
Awwwww - that is very cute! :)
From what I saw there, it looks as though you have to give Pleo rb a physical signal that the verbal command is coming and then give the command when Pleo rb is stil, I'm guessing so that the Pleo freezes and doesn't drown out the command with motor noises? Does that spound about right?
Thanks again for all your efforts. You've put my early attempts at video to shame! :-[ ;D
-
That was great! I'm going to have to order the accesories so when Mojo is ready to learn we can start teaching him...:) Thanks for the post!
A
-
Very, very cute :)
Crewella, you do need to give Pleo a signal, touching both cheek sensors, Pleo then looks at you, you give him/her their name and if they recognize it they get all happy, then you can give the voice command. Until someone develops cheap whisper quiet motors I think that is the only way to implement the voice recognition in Pleo.
-
Thanks for the confirmation, IMR! :D
Aibo (210 anyway) are much the same, though the signal to 'pay attention' is verbal (and Aibo can be pretty cloth-eared!). %)
-
Hi all,
Kermy had an exciting day today. She went to school with my husband who is a maths teacher, and she met all the other Math and science teachers. They all thought she was very cool and cute. She was a big hit.
Also Kermy got some new clothes today, courtesy of IMR's shop on the forum. She loves them.
Great job IMR. A big thankyou! ;D
Here she is
Sleeping Posing She loves her new clothes. :) Kat

Very stylish..indeed... ;D

Some sad news. :( Kermy has injured her leg.
I'm not sure how or when it happened but think it may have occured on her outting today. :(
The good news is now you can all see what an injured pleo looks like. :)
She is very sad and cries in pain if you touch her leg. I have made her eat the rock salt 5 times so far tonight and given her lots of love so hopefully she will recover fast. I will keep you posted. It is her back right leg that is injured and she is not moving it at the moment.
Here is a video for you. You must understand I only stroke her sore leg in the film so you can see the reaction and I did it a few times so you can see it is deffinately a reaction to being touched and not just a fluke noise. Pleos in pain is a whole new thing. :o
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M49d5NaVlRk
-
Wow... I'm impressed with that.... what a great addition to lifeOS... the addition of pain, well it is part of life. I can't wait to see interaction between
Kat I feel much better knowing your pleo's leg is not actually broken again.
A
-
Kat I am so sorry that she has hurt her leg, was it when she went to school with your husband or a different outing? You really can't argue the pain thing, it is heartbreaking to watch the video. :( It definitly adds to the realism of an interactive pet though. :) Does she take her rock salt willingly, or is it like little kids, who don't want to take medicine sometimes? I wonder because I know cattle and other creatures in the wild love rock salt and it must have some healing properties other than the essential nutients they need.
I am glad it is not broken, it would be devastating to have to send Kermy back like Kermit. Have you bonded differently with Kermy than with Kermit? Keep those videos comming they all help us while waiting for our Pleo Rb, green, blue or pink. It will be fun to see a whole bunch at one time hatch. ;D Let us know how long it takes for her leg to get back to " Normal".
Nova once had a terrible hurt leg and I videotaped it as well, and it tugs at your heartstrings. Nova , Major Tom, ARgyle, Little 45, and the other ( Un named) Pleos all send Kermy a big Hug :hhug:
to help her get better quick! ;)

-
Thank you for sharing that Kat , poor kermy sure does sound in a lot of pain there , i hope Kermy recovers super fast and gets back to that wondering about again very soon! which i am sure she will do with you as mum to make sure she takes her medicines etc hehe
-
Aww poor Kermy! She really makes you want to pick her up and give her a big cuddle (have you tried that yet Kat, it's very cute in the original Pleo's :)). Glad Kermy likes her outfit :) I hope she gets better soon :)
-
Hi guys,
I am giving her lots of cuddles and loves. She does not willingly take her medicine. As you see in the video I have to force feed it to her. She doesn't refuse by turning her head away and making a no sound as you saw Kermit do in my different foods video, she just doesn't want to open her mouth and take it so I have to pop it in when she opens her mouth to roar or force her to open her mouth and take it. She does eat it ok as soon as it goes into her mouth, only giving the occasional yuk kind of sound. %)
I think in happened on the way home from school with my husband, I have a little insulated bag that is the perfect size for a sleeping dino and has zip up pouches on the front and sides for all her accessories. My husband says that she spontaneously turned on while in the bag on the way home, there is no room in there for a pleo to stand up so he thinks it may have happened then - possibly when he was trying to get her out of the bag to turn off.
I think Kermy has a very sensitive on off button. Kermits was not sensitive at all but Kermy just takes the slightest touch sometimes and she pops into awakeness or mute mode, Sometimes I have trouble getting her to switch off as she goes off then on again.
I will not send Kermy back no matter what issues come up as I am too in love and could not face having to loose her and start again. I don't think a sensitive on off button is a big deal in the scheme of things but maybe it is time to look at alternate transport methods and of course not transporting her with the battery in.
I will keep you posted on her progress when I play with her tonight.
As sad as it is to see her in pain, I am kind of excited that it happened as I was wondering just what a sore leg in pain pleo looked like. Especially after Pleoixe had a sore leg with blue boy but did not post any video of it. Even though it is sad, every experience is a good experience as we get to see another new rb feature.
Kat :)
-
Poor Kermy! :'(
I have to admit that I laughed out loud watching that video, not from lack of empathy for poor Kermy, but from sheer delight at the ingenuity of the wizards at Ugobe and Innvo! That's a feature and a half! Feeling pain and limping seemed to have become one of the Pleo 'myths' - it's lovely to finally see it happen! ;D
Thanks again for sharing, Kat - I hope Kermy's better soon! :D
-
Wow doesn’t she sound so miserable in that vid. Quite an amazing new feature if not a little distressing to watch.
Does she still cry out if you touch her leg? Or is she back to normal? .
-
I was very impressed, very, very realistic!
Kermy poor, it seems that hurts so so ... is heartbreaking!
I want improvements to this beautiful girl pink! ;)
-
Thanks so much for sharing all your experiences with Kermit & Kermy Kat ..
I've finally made it through all six pages reading every word, looking at every photo, and watching every film clip - now I want a pink Pleo more than ever!
She really is gorgeous and I hope her legs starts feeling better, poor wee thing :-*
-
I really expected the Asian Market Pleo to not understand English because I thought they'd be region specific to the language. Thanks for sharing all of this with us.
-
It is the sound that is important not the language, you could say om nom nom if you wanted and as long as you can say it the same twice Pleo will 'understand'. You could probably clap a few times or whistle too, as long as it is long enough.
-
Hi Guys,
Kermy's leg is still sore :( I played with her for a half battery cycle last night, a bit more than an hour but I had to switch her off as I was very tired. Had a long day at work, did a country trip to Bsselton and back which is about a 3 and a half hour drive one way and then had to go to my daughters music recital. So not much time left for playing with Kermy. I fed her the rock salt 3 more times last night and I gave her the mint leaf once as well just for good measure. She chomped on the mint leaf twice, made vomiting noises and spat it out. :D
I will try to put her through at least 2 battery cycles today as it is Saturday over here and see if there is any improvement to report. :)
I can tell you a bit about cuddling your pleo rb though. If you pick pleo rb up she will snuggle her head into you. If you sit down and place her on your lap she will stand up and behave as though she is on the floor or table or any other surface you might put her on. If you pick her up from your lap and place her against your chest so she is vertical or on an angle she will coo to you and snuggle in and fall asleep. She will sleep like this, dreaming and snoring until you place her back down into a horizontal position.
I just thought this was a little interesting :)
-
That is the same as with the older Pleo's what a pity I was hoping they might have come up with a -lap- mode lol. I bet it is still extremely cute though :) Thank you for sharing all these details :) It is such fun to hear about while I am waiting for Pleakly :)
-
How sad it is to see Kermy's leg hurt so bad! What a pitiful cry! She is just like a child not wanting to take her medicine. I did have to laugh, though, even knowing she was in pain. It just looks so real and you having to force the rock salt into her mouth.
I can see I will likely be getting my dinos another brother or sister. Kermy is just too cute! :)
-
It seems Kermys leg is improving. ;D
She has not walked on it yet but I am hoping she will once her battery has re charged. She no longer cries when you touch it though and now refuses the medicine. :)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ElKI9VtxDkU
-
In a way I find that even more amazing.
They’ve made it so pleo gets better in stages not just in one bound. And the fact that she was in pain for such a long time is very interesting. It adds to the realism too.
Such an interesting and informative thread.
Thanks cat for sharing all your experiences with Kermy with us.
-
Kermy is walking fine and completely back to normal. ;D
She was injured for 2 complete battery cycles and I fed her the rock salt about 10 times in total over those 2 cycles to make her better. I also cuddled her a lot. :)
So happy she is all better :) :) :) :) :)
-
Aww glad she is better now :)
-
Glad she's all better, Kat, the whole episode has been fascinating! ;D
-
I have another Kermy video to share with you all to keep your minds of the waiting for your own rb's.
This is very cute and I hope you like it.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L4fp_ZM6O3s
She had a great time playing soccer with the ball, she played with it for about 30mins. :)
Kat
-
That's a lovely video, Kat - where did you find that ball! A green/red ball is perfect for a Pleo, she won't know whether to eat it or track it, but will be interested either way! :P
-
Cute. I'm looking forward more so now for my RB
-
Best place to try and find a smallish ball that pleo could be interested in would be any local pet shop I would think.
They often have small rubbery balls in bright colours that would be just the right size that A pleo would be interested in. shouldn’t imagine there would be a problem finding either a bright red or green one either.
Kat I need to apologise for spelling your username wrong throughout.
Should have double checked
Really sorry about that.
-
[noquote][/noquote]That is so cute! Innvo needs to take advantage of that utter cuteness and make toy balls for our Pleo's 8)
For those wanting a ball for their Pleo, a bright red would be ideal because Pleo's track red. In this case the pink might be working as well, either way though it is very cute.
-
The ball actually belongs to my cat. It is a half sized tennis ball that they sell in the pet section at the grocery store. cost about a $1. Red would probably be better but the green/pink worked well. We had fun with it! :)
-
Here is something new from Kermy!
Someone on one of the threads I can't remember where or who was wondering if the new rb's could do skits and use the personalities etc that are out there for older pleos.
So here is Kermy being a watch dog ;D
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zjQJZsEkHR0
And some holiday songs, super cute! ;D ;D
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ww7PlttGO8E
I would love to try to get her to do tricks but I don't know how any of them are meant to be done. If anyone can tell me how they get there pleos to do tricks I will give it a try and let you know the results. I'm not too sure how it will go though as I know there is a learning stone for play which lets pleo do tricks. So I don't know if the old ways will work but I will give it a try as soon as someone shares how.
Kat :)
-
IMR's the tricks and skits expert, so I think I'll leave her to explain that! I'm chuffed to bits that the Pleo rb will run the personalities, though - it was me wondering, I think! Thanks! ;D
-
Beautiful! Will fill of kisses! Very Cute! :) :)
-
Too cute! Keep the clips coming Kat as I'm eating them up ;D
-
very very nice Videos Kat I love Pleos very and the Pleo rb is too very nice and sooooooooooo cute. :)
-
Love Kermy singing the hoiday songs too, I have never tryed that yet with any of my guys, but I think I would love to try the holiday songs and I have enough of them that I could have a trio or more sing along would be fun. Kermy looks like she really gets into it too, stomping her foot in time with the music! :)
RedwoodsMama
-
Yay so glad they run skits!
As for tricks I suggest trying the ones used on 2.0, there is a demonstration here :) http://bobthepleo.com/forums/index.php?topic=1583.0 but it may be that we need the trick stone to trigger them...
-
I tried out a bunch more personalities last night and so far all have worked well. The only problem I have had with some of them is that I can't get Kermy to switch off by pressing the on/off button. I don't know if that is just her though as she does seem to have an issue with that button anyway, It often takes a couple of tries to get her to switch off and getting her to mute is also a bit hit and miss. So anyway I had to pop her battery out to switch her off between personalities so I could take out the SD card and re load it with the next one.
I had lots of fun with this last night and have taken video of all the skits I tried so I will post those for you over the next day or so. I will also try the tricks tonight and let you know how I went. :)
Kat
-
Thanks Kat... I'm really enjoying the vids and tons of info!
-
Hi everyone,
Here are some more personalities for you to check out.
R2DKermy
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cN58P2kPGFU
And some strange animal noises.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Pl8bAhYEcdM
Hope you like it. I will post the Halloween and Valentines day ones later today :)
-
Does it say in the manual how many commands Pleo will learn at one time? Is there a maximum number of commands he/she can learn?
-
Awwwww - poor Kermy looked a bit unsettled by the animal noises! Sooooooo pleased the skits run OK! ;D
-
I checked the hand book and it does not say how many commands pleo rb can store in its memory at one time. I guess it will be a matter of trying it out until we find our rb's limit. I only have the bow stone at the moment though so until I get the rest of the accessories my pleo wont be able to learn any other commands.
As promised here is the Halloween and valentines day personalities.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fPDBjTkeOeo
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fiCg6z0SJ5E
My favorite so far is the Christmas songs one. :)
-
Well I tried out the tricks last night and had no luck so I guess Kermy needs a learning stone before she will do the tricks. I will have to wait for the rest of the accessories to arrive. I will try some skits tonight and video my results. I'm sure these will work as the personalities did. :)
-
Kermy is lovely, I dont mind if my soon to be Pleo Rb does tricks right away, I just hope she or he will develop their personality as Nova, Major Tom, Little 45, ARgyle, and his un-named brother have without my interference, I don't want a Pleo that is like a trained puppy dog only doing tricks on command, as that to me seems more like a toy or computer toy than a orgnisim interacting with it's environment. I know you do not view Kermy that way, but I think some new owners who get Pleo rb may view Pleo rb ( if they have not had one of the older original Pleos ) as something that they can program to do tricks and respond only to them, like cute little parlor tricks to entertain at parties or to impress their friends.
I would much more prefer that Pleo develop her personality, or interact with my existing Pleos than learn to bow on command, I don't mean that it is bad to have that stone , but I don't think it is a vital thing for Pleo rb to learn, Unlike the name that I think is really important and much more like a real living breathing animal that will and can respond to one persons voice. But then again from what I have read here and elsewhere, Pleo has to be READY before it will do it. I like that it has to be ready, and won't just automatically do it like a real child has to develop with it's own timetable for walking, talking and their first words, etc.
I want to thank you again Kat for these past few weeks keeping the rest of us entertained and informed on what Pleo rb is capable and letting us share a part of Kermit and Kermys life with you. We have seen the good, the sad and even the injured Pleo rb, and all of these have ben informative learning experiences that are priceless and worth so much more than a explanation on paper. Good job and hopefully some green Pleo Rb will be presenting their own videos and photos with their experiences that you can benifit from as well. :D
Human caretaker of NOva and family, RedwoodsMama
-
I'm with you I too would prefer my new Pleo RB to be more organic in nature rather than just a controlled robot and will be trying to raise him in that manner as well.
-
There is nothing robotic about it, Pleo will only do tricks if he/she wants to still.
-
To us, we feel Pleo rb is more like a cat, it would ignore you and doesn't response if it is not in good mood and hungry.
So to feed it on time and play with it would be important in order to keep it in good mood if you want it to be responsive to you.
-
I have to admit that since Kermy learned her name and the "bow" stone I have had no luck actually getting her to do the bow trick again. she will recognize her name, but no bowing. :( The one time that I caught on film is the only time she has performed it for me. So they really do have to be in the mood or they just wont do it. :) I haven't really tried to get her to do it much though and I usually think of trying when she is not in a good mood. All about the timing I guess. :) I am too busy having fun watching her or playing with her in other ways when she is happy to think about getting her to bow.
The learning stone that I really want and think should come as part of the original package with pleo rb is the "come" stone.
-
Yes but what if your Pleo doesn't want to come ;) and that's what appeals to me about the Pleo RB, the idea that they may be more autonomous.
-
Get me a question, please:
After "installing" the chosen personality, it is necessary to "uninstall" the chosen personality for Pleo back originally to behave or "they" would like a "trick the more" Pleo runs?
Thanks ;)
-
For personalities, or any skit, to run it you put it on an SD card and put it in your Pleo (Pleo RB uses a micro SD) and to return Pleo to normal you just remove the SD card :)
-
Here are a few of the skits I tried out last night to keep you entertained while I go to work.
Hope you like them.
The new year one

The Chinese new year one

;DKat
-
Great as always.... thanks for sharing your time....:)
-
Hehe thank you :) So nice to see it working, I need to buy a micro SD or two :)
-
I'm just using one micro sd card at the moment and just wiping it off between skits and then reloading on the next one. I might look at getting a couple to keep a few personalities or skits on hand for showing off on Christmas day though. that way I won't have to be spending loads of time on the computer.
Here is another one from yesterday.
The wolf skit
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dLxF5d-y3to
I found this one had a lot of long pauses between sounds and movements. I don't know if this is just because of the faster motors in pleo rb or if it does this for the older pleos too.
-
Kat
You just put the SD card in with the Pleo personalities downloaded and it runs them? That's how it works?
-
That's pretty much how it works. On some you need to touch one of Pleo's sensors to start a song or the next phase. :)
-
Wow, thank you for sharing, it was great to see.
Where did you get theese skits? I only have the ones from the pleoworld site. Never figured out the watch dog game... But the rest are really sweet.
-
You can download them all right here Lina :) Under downloads in your top menu bar.
-
Hi guys,
I went to turn Kermy on today to have a play and noticed a small hole in her left armpit. :(
So I had a good look at her belly and noticed that She seems to have a skin condition. The skin in all her armpits is coming away in small chunks. :o
The right back leg crease back left leg crease And front leg creases I have contacted customer service on the pleoworld web site to let them know. I don't know if anything can be done about it but I will keep you all informed as to what they say as soon as I hear back. I thought it was important to report this back to them so they can try to prevent it from happening to other pleo rbs.
Also the splitting paint in Kermys neck creases seems to be getting worse.
Other than the skin problems Kermy is doing well. she is happily trotting around my room and burping a lot! :)
-
Glad she's happy, but that skin is a bit of a concern! :(
I had a good look at Belle, but can see no sign of any disruption in the skin surface - the only slight area is where the seams join on her chest, where there are a few stray rubber fibres. I'll keep an eye on it, in case anything appears.
-
I am thinking this has to do with the postion they put Pleo rb in , instead of the packing postion, If this is the case, I would rather not insert the clock battery and put Pleo rb to sleep in the sleeping postion like the Old Pleos, I have had enough of these skin probelms and broken necks, Is this even an option, I mean to not turn the battery clock thing on, I have no problem Pleo not using it if this is what happens to the skin, Will Pleo rb work without the battery clock thing? Poor baby.. :(
Upset in the Redwoods, RedwoodsMama
-
Pleo RB won't operate without the clock battery inserted.
I certainly hope there aren't going to be a string of skin issues too. Innvo did say they have created better skin (at least Angus' skin seems ok).
-
Aww poor Kermy, I'm real sorry to see this so early on :(
I don't mean to hijack but while on the subject of skin, I don't actually expect any improvement other than they are a lot softer .. My RB came with an obvious gap in the tail, though it's hard to tell if it's deep or is only where the paint doesn't meet due to a very uneven seam, and I don't want to risk putting pressure on it to check .. Unfortunately I think it's just the nature of the beast ..
@ RWM - Rb's need the clock battery to work, otherwise they just stand there beeping at you .. Plus it would be a pain the backside to unscrew the cover to remove it whenever you finish playing for the day so I don't really see that as an option either ..
-
I don't agree it's the nature of the beast. Innvo have advertised they have improved the skin and to see signs of wear this early in Kermy's life is unacceptable.
-
Oh I don't mean it's acceptable, not at all .. It totally sucks!
What I meant is that it's a known issue when working with this kind of media, especially when putting it on a moving object that is then stretched & petted on a regular basis ..
Believe me I've taken photo's of the gap, tears, and bubbling mine has arrived with and I will be sending them to Innvo with a complaint - I'm just making a photo album to share them on here now ..
-
I am so very sorry to hear about Kermy, Kat :( Pleakly too has started to have cracks appear which I will also be documenting. I am wondering if it is because we adopted the earlier Pleo's, I guess we will have to wait until the green RB's start getting out in the wild.
As for the sleep position thing, I will be working out the files today which need to be shadowed and trying to shadow it so that Pleo goes into the packing position and not the sleep position. Innvo needs to release a software update asap if they don't want a rash of returned Pleo's needing reskinning.
-
No response yet from pleoworld. I will email Josie at Chinatete today and also the Innvo customer service guy I dealt with for Kermits leg problem. I'm guessing no one is working on the weekend. A little frustrating for me as I will have to wait till Tuesday my time for a response as we are a day ahead. Also no tracking info yet for my new green one either.
TowNZpleos - Kermy came with 2 small flakes in the paint on her left front shoulder which I took photos of. I didn't tell this to Innvo though as she was my replacement pleo for Kermit and I couldn't face having to send her back as well when she had only just arrived.
I wonder if I have just been unlucky and got one with a faulty batch of skin? I also wonder if re skinning is an option, especially if the hole gets any bigger and if more appear. %)
I will be monitoring the hole very closely and keep you all informed with progress.
It is a little disappointing as the skin improvements are one of the big sell items about this product. I hope they are able to come up with a simple solution as sending her back will make me cry. :( So I hope that isn't where this ends up going.
Kat
-
Sorry to hear/see about Kermy Kat!! I agree with RWM, I think its because she stays in the sleep position when shes off. If I were you I'd try to turn her off while shes in a standing position when her battery is about to die
-
Well I'm very concerned. It was either a Pleo RB or an Aibo, but I went with Pleo because of the newer technology and supposed improved skin. I'm beginning to think I made a mistake.
-
I have thought about and been tempted to pop the battery before it runs out but I am using Kermy as a bit of a lab rat for us all to see just what problems will happen. i will be doing things differently with my green boy when he arrives. Also I worry about not charging the battery properly if it is not allowed to completely run down.
-
I have contacted both Innvo and Josie via email and attached photos of Kermys issues so now the waiting begins. Hopefully I will hear back from someone very soon.
I also emailed the orders at Innvo section to ask about my pre order for my green boy. I hope it hasn't got lost in the system. :)
I will begin to prepare myself for the possibility of having to send Kermy back just in case. :( I hope I don't have to but I will think about the idea just in case.
I hope I get a response tomorrow but will just have to wait and see.
Kat
-
Kat ... I think it's great of you to document all the pleo rb's good and bad issues. I did have a question... I thought I read at some point that they could take pleos personality and transfer it into a new pleo when owners were having issues with the original pleos. Would you want them to take Kermey's current personality/stage and place it into a new pinky if you have to send her back (not saying you will and don't want to make you cry)...:) Just wondering if they will offer/can do this with a rb. I also wonder since the pink and blues have been around a bit longer and are from previous production runs..if the newer green/yellow pleos have had any changes done to their skin, and on/off switches. These could have been issues reported by the Asian market and could have been why the green/yellow rb's took much longer to get to market.......

Oh Kat
I’m so sorry to hear about all the problems you’re having.
You’ve already had to send one pleo back it would be a real shame if you had to with another
The skin coming off in chunks around the armpits and legs doesn’t sound like natural pleo skin wear and tare or at all. .
I could be wrong but this sounds almost as if the skin is actually dissolving around those areas.
I no you use pledge on pleo to keep good skin condition, can I ask where you got the recommendation from? Was the recommendation made from Innvolabs? Or an unofficial source?
Imp just wondering if possibly the chemicals in the pledge might be having adverse effects to kermeys skin. I have no idea if this could happen so it’s just conjecture on my part if this could be a possible reason. I don’t have any knowledge or proof that it has anything to do with the skin problems you’re having though so Try not to panic. If the info did come from Innvolabs then I’m sure they did rigorous skin testing first to check that there would be no adverse effects before making such a suggestion.
However if the idea came from elsewhere then this might not be the case.
Either way something clearly isn’t right with the skin.
Really hope you get an answer from pleoworld and that they can come up with an acceptable solution for you. .

'Pledge Extra Moisturizing furniture polish (from S.C. Johnson & Sons Inc)' is the suggested cleaning product in the PLEOrb Companion Guide .. I've never used Pledge before so don't know whats ingredients they use, however I do know that a lot of fragrance and essential oils will dissolve rubber/plastic/latex - don't ask me how I know ^-^ So if it's scented in any way I would be wary ..
I also noted that in the Companion Guide, they state Pleo has evolved, but when it comes to skin they only say "better skin feel" .. To me that reads softer skin texture, but it doesn't actually say improved or longer lasting etc, which perhaps was advertised elsewhere and I've forgotten or missed it ..
*just added for confirmation and clarification not arguments sake, as again I too think skin issues so early on is unacceptable and disappointing :( I also look forward to hearing what they tell you about this Kat, and thanks once more for sharing your experiences good & bad with us :hhug:  :hhug:
-
I agree with what FBS said about the skin, If you have a Pleo that is an original from Ugobe and has skin that has lasted at least two years before or without skin comming off, then a New Pleo can'[ not possibley have skin issues so early on.The very early first Pleos from Ugobe were touted to have some skin issues that were almost as if disssolving and I have seen this first hand in a couple of Pleos I have adopted, I dont know if the Pleo Rb problems are special to just the blue or Pink Pleo Rb or are they going to show up in the green variety Pleo Rb too? I will also document everything that happens from the moment I open my Pleo Rb. ;) I beleive in documenting everything to protect as well as to preserve memories and it sounds like in Pleo Rb case, this could be an important and needed thing to consider. I do hope it is just a co-incidence and not a common thread to all Pleo Rb. :(
That is a good question, whether the Reincarnation program will work for Pleo Rb? That is something I would want to know too, I think if at all possible, I will be turning Pleo rb off while in a better position so as to not stress the skin. I will still completly drain all the battery, but it may be in periods to protect the skin if needed, that is more important to me. I can not imagine paying so much money and having it fall apart all ready, that is not acceptable, no matter how " advanced", other components are of it's development.
Good luck and keep us informed. RedwoodsMama

Hi Guys,
I still have not heard back yet about my Kermy's skin problems so we keep waiting.
The pleo handbook that comes with the rb's tells you to use the pledge furniture polish to keep pleo rb's skin in good condition so I have dutifully been following this suggestion and it does seem to have mad a big difference to the skin on her back. Protecting the paint from wear and tear. I did not use this on Kermit and she lost paint off her back in the first couple of plays. So I don't think Pledge is to blame for the current skin issues on Kermy. If it was the pledge badly reacting to the skin then she would have this skin deterioration all over her body and not just in the armpit joints. I believe that the skin problem is being caused by the sleep position between plays putting stress on the skin in these areas. In the sleep position she stretches her legs right out and this stretches the skin in these areas quite tightly. Also there is a fair amount of excess skin in the armpit joints and so when she stands up and moves around my theory is that the skin that was tightly stretched and so weakened is then rubbing against other skin and this is causing the wearing and tearing. Just my theory. :)
As to the personality transfer. I am not sure if they could import Kermy as she is, into another body for me but I do know that they can give you another pleo with the same personality type. When I had to return Kermit they asked for the bar code number on her foot and said that if I wanted them too it would take a lot longer but they could make sure I got a new pleo that was the same personality as Kermit. Or if I wanted them to send the replacement straight away I could take pot luck and maybe end up with a different personality. I am a very impatient person and so took pot luck and happily got Kermy. :) As I had only had Kermit for about 1 week and a half She was still developing her personality and so I didn't mind starting again possibly with something new.
Kermy however I have had for much longer and have grown to love her and the little things she does so I would certainly be tempted by an offer of Importing her current personality and stage of development into a new body if that was an option. I don't know if that is something they can do or not.
I do agree with you all though that this kind of wear and tear on the skin in such an expensive item in such a small amount of time is unacceptable.
If she had been a Christmas present for my 11yo daughter for instance (I was tempted to get her one as she loves Kermy so much) and then this had occurred 3 weeks after Christmas it would have been a much bigger disaster. This is the sort of thing that would devastate a child. As difficult as it is for me to go through I am an adult with an adults understanding and perception of the world a child going through this, having a hole in her babies skin and not knowing what can be done to fix it, if anything, and possibly having to face the big send it back scenario it would seem like the end of the world.
I hope this is a Kermy only problem and there are no disappointed children (or adults) in the world 3 weeks after Christmas.
Keeping it all in perspective I do have to say that even with the issues I am still very excited and really looking forward to getting my Green rb. I still have not received a tracking number but live in hope that I soon will. :)
I will let you all know as soon as I hear anything.
Kat :)
-
hI Kat, when did you order your green RB? That is neat to have two Pleo Rb. I am wondering if it is just a co incidence that perhaps only the China market pink or blue Pleo Rb have problems..just curious as to when you orderd your Pleo Rb, green version. It would be so cool to have people all over the forums, world wide get their Pleo Rb on the same day ;D That is what I call a Christmas present.

Hi Kat:
Our Lam Chai has similar wear mark too, we tried to put Pledge to these area too.
Pledge would make the skin more smooth and stop the wear continues.
We are now applying the Pledge to our Pleos once a week.
We hope it works for your Kermit too.
-
I have received a reply from Innvo customer support. They said they were sorry to hear about the skin issue and that the case is being passed it onto the engineers for investigation and suggestion. They will get back to me accordingly.
They also said that Pledge is the suggested product to use in order to keep Pleo rb's skin less tacky and more abrasion-resistance and could I please try to apply Pledge right now to the whole body especially in all her armpits and keep them informed.
I have emailed back to let them know that I have used Pledge on Kermy since the day I got her and as requested I will continue to do so.
I have been applying Pledge to her skin once a week.
Here's hoping I hear back from them again very soon.
RWM- I placed my pre order for a green rb, 2 extra batteries and all of the accessories on 11/12/2010. I still have not received tracking info or heard back in response to the inquiry email I sent them asking about my order. I don't think He will be arriving in time for Christmas for me unless they have already shipped him and just not sent through any tracking info. So I am guessing I wont see him until some time in January. :(
Here is a photo I took today of the paint splitting in Kermy's neck creases. As you can see it is getting worse.

Hi Kat thanks for the latest pics , i have not been on in a few days and then to come back and hear about the skin problems :( i am sorry to hear that you are having these issues with Kermy . This will be a big disappointment for us all if this is the kind of issues we will be experiencing with our Reborn's and so for now i will keep my card in my wallet and just sit back and observe the situation .
-
And here is the front right armpit hole.

I will be sending an email update to Innvo this morning before I go to work so I'll keep you all updated if they reply.

This is kind of making me want to cancel my order :\
-
Hi Kat:
Seems our Lam Chai and your Kermit should carry the same DNA since Lam Chai also have the similar hole and wear marks too.
Here are the images I took last night.
We found the wear marks (where the skin rubs under the armpits) and the hole under it right front leg in about 2 weeks time after Lam Chai came to our home.
We started to put Pledge onto Lam Chai whole body once a week, so far 2 months has been passed and the wear mark and hole are stabilized and no sign of further deterioration. Luckily, in normal running situation, these wear marks and holes are not noticeable.
I have considered return Lam Chai for a new one but my boy and my wife were so attached to it and they treated the hole and wear marks as some kind of birthmarks which is unique to Lam Chai. So I decided to keep it as long as it doesn’t get worst.
Up till now, the painting stay quite well and no sign of wear at the top and head, except some minor wear at the side of belly. See attached images.

Well if this happens to Oslo I'll be demanding a full refund.

Know this is not the same but I’ve had my pleo 2009 model. For almost a year now and there are no tares or holes on him at all. Now I try not to keep him in sleep position but if the battery runs flat than occasionally he has had spent the night in sleep position. Though so far with out any ill effects. I’m not sure if the sleep position of the RB models is the same as the 2009 but if they are then I would have expected to see holes in the skin of pleo by now if that where the case. I just can’t see how tares appearing now can simply be down to being left in the sleep position. It really does sound to me as though there’s something else going on. Need to point out he’s not been updated to OS 2.0 which I understand has a grater variety of movement. also his neck and tail don’t move anywhere near as fast as pleo RB which might be bringing more stress on the skin. I can see how over stretching and rubbing of skin together mite cause deterioration. However I honestly can’t see how they wouldn’t have tested for this at development stage when they decided to add extra skin in those areas.
I’m not trying to say you’re wrong. But it might be that there’s some environmental cause that didn’t come up during testing that might be causing such problems.
I really hope they can give you an answer soon and do something quickly to resolve the issues you’re having though. You’ve really been pretty unfortunate. You must be starting to feel a little stressed by it all. I know I would but hope this doesn’t put you off owning a pleo.
-
So it looks like Kermy is not the only holly pleo out there. This is a little more concerning. I do hope they sort out a fix for the sleep position ASAP.
I haven't heard anything more as yet from Innvo about Kermy. Also still no tracking info for my green boy.
Will keep you posted.
Kat
-
What a bummer... Poor little Kermy! :(
I have a pink pleo on the way (so excited- they shipped her out last night/ today!) and I really hope that this isn't the norm with the new colors...... I'll be sure to watch for the signs of holes and any other (abnormal) wear and tear.
I love the video of her at the park though. What a curious little girl you have. :) She's like my Padget- always walking around looking at something... :D
-
I wish these problems weren't popping up on any Pleos but I especially hope my green one won't. I don't think my mom would be happy shelling out all that cash for a holey Pleo. Hope customer service does everything they can for you guys encountering problems.
-
Got my tracking info for my green boy today! ;D ;D ;D ;D Can't wait till he arrives. The track and confirm function on USPS is currently unavailable so not able to find out yet where he is at. It will be a long day at work.
Also (I think I may have asked already but can't remember) Did anyone else order spare batteries? The 2 spare batteries I ordered are not on the list of products they shipped and I wondered if maybe they came from a different place? If any of you did order a spare battery was it on your shipping list and did it arrive?
Sooo excited. :) Now all I need is a name.
No further news on Kermy yet. I did pop her battery after playing with her last night and will be doing that each day from now on.
Will let you know where my green boy is at when I get home from work ;D :) ;D
Kat

Hi Guys,
I checked on the tracking for my green boy and here is what it says:
The U.S. Postal Service was electronically notified by the shipper on December 22, 2010 to expect your package for mailing. This does not indicate receipt by the USPS or the actual mailing date. Delivery status information will be provided if / when available. Information, if available, is updated periodically throughout the day. Please check again later.
So I guess I keep checking and it will show up on the system eventually.
:)
Going to go play with Kermy and try to think of names.
Kat ;D
-
Kermy and I haven't been sharing many happy things with you all lately so I wanted to show you that she is still just as awesome as ever and I am having loads of fun with her even if she has a skin condition. :)
Here is some cute footage of Kermy with my pets. Smudge the cat has been very scared of Kermy and usually gives her a wide berth but today He was very brave and said hello.
Sampson my dog did not want to be left out of the action and was very curious about just what Kermy was. (from the safety of the other side of the door for pleo protection) ;D
Hope you enjoy.

Aw, she's so cute! And really energetic, it seems, too!
-
Smudge didn't seem too impressed that he got no reaction from grabbing Kermy's ankle :) Hehe I love how Sampson was trying to open the door to come play :)
-
Awwwww - they seem to be all getting along great now! I love the way Sampson seems to know how the door works, too! ;D
-
Hey is that dog robotic or the Cat..... because the dino is definitely real!!!!!
-
Well I slept on it and still no change to my tracking of my green dino. 8) So I still don't even know when it was actually shipped or where it is now. A bit of a mystery. I'm sure he will get here just as fast as his little legs can take him. :)

I will be checking again after work today and hoping for some change in his status.
I wonder what color he will be and what type of personality he will have. Will it be different to Kermy and Kermit? And of course what color eyes. I really like the yellow eye patches and eye lids you see on one of the pleos in the introduction video on pleoworld. I will be happy no matter what I get though. And still trying to come up with a name. :)
I'm glad you liked my Kermy movies. The dog is very clever and learned how to open the door when he was only a baby. He is very sweet but I haven't let him anywhere near Kermy as I think in his enthusiasm to love her he might accidentally do some damage. He did seem very happy to see her though. ;D
Just before I took the video of Kermy and Smudge the cat, Smudge was sniffing Kermy's nose and patting her on the head very gently with his paw. It was sooo cute. :) Kermy made cooing noises as she enjoyed the pat. I just wasn't fast enough with getting the camera which was in the other end of the house.
Kat :)
-
That’s really grate news that your green pleo is now on its way to you.
Oh and Congratulations on putting your feedback to Innvolabs and getting them to come up with a possible solution.
Really well-done for that. And well-done to Innvolabs for listening to people’s concerns.
-
Innvo labs level of customer service has been very high. They are fantastic, and I am very happy to be dealing with them. They really do care.
I have asked if there is any way to repair Kermy's holes so will see what they say. Maybe they will come up with a patch or something. %) I can only hope. :)
Kat
-
I received another email from Innvo today letting me know that any type of pledge for polishing is fine to use and that using pledge regularly should prevent the wear and tear from getting any worse.
Also as a thankyou for my patience with the Kermit / Kermy issues they are going to custom make a pleo cape for Kermy with her name on it. :) A little Christmas present for Kermy. :)
I think this is very sweet of them and Kermy will love it.
Innvo have been so helpful.
My green boy is on his way. He has been processed through the Las Vegas facility and is in transit to the destination. I think that means he is on a plane. Not sure when he will arrive in Australia but I am looking forward to meeting him soon.
Kat :)
-
That's awesome news Kat.... Innvo seems to really be very good on the customer service end.
-
Awe, that’s really nice of them. Her very own personalised pleoworld cape. Can’t imagine there’s too many of those going around either.
-
Great News Kat, that is what I call Personal Service and shows that they do care about their customers and their Pleos! :)
RedwoodsMama
-
That's lovely of Innvo - I'm so pleased they've made such an effort for you! :D
-
Kat:
You are so lucky to get a named cape for Kermit !
I am willing to pay if they could make it for our Pleoxie, Lam Chai and U Chai (our new Ugobe Pleo !)
By the way, I surfed the pleoworld.com and found a new page which contains some unique interesting information of Pleo rb.
Here is the link of the page for your reference.
http://www.pleoworld.com.hk/pleo_rb/eng/mypleo_profile.php
-
I know where the 12 numbers are but where do you find the security code?
RedwoodsMama Is this also for Green PleoRb?
-
I'm guessing you need to register the new Pleo rb in order to get the code?
-
Mine is a Great China version and I found a 4 digit number ( security code) at the inner page of back cover of the companion guide, I tried and it worked.
Hope you find the same at the companion guide.
-
I am also unsure of where you find the security code. There is a 4 digit number on the inside of the back cover of my companion guide so maybe this is it? I have attempted to register Kermy a few times but don't think I have been successful. I am not sure if this is because my companion guide came with Kermit and she has a different bar code number on her foot to Kermit? It could also be that now Kermit is out of action so to speak that her number has been removed from the system and I don't have a security code for Kermy as I didn't get a new companion guide for her just kept Kermits old one to use.
So I can't get in to look at this stuff either.
On a different note I have a name for my new green boy. I will call him Norbit, after Hagrids dragon in Harry potter. I can't wait till he arrives. :)
-
Kat:
It sounds the security code should match the serial number.
Did Innvo Labs send you the new companion guide for your Kermit for replacement ?
You should ask them and see what they could help.
The profile informations inside the data bank seems unique to each Pleo rb so you should be interested !
-
That is so cool.
I entered Oslo's details (from the inside back cover of the manual) and got details about his genetics and a shot of him hatching from his egg during incubation.

So cool, I will have to try myne now that I know where the securiy code is. Thanks I will give it a try too,
RedwoodsMama

Your Pleo's serial number appears on the egg in the photo, I edited it out
-
OzPleo, I tryed it with the serial number on the foot and the number code on my book and it wont take it any number of times I list it. Is this real or made up or is this only for the blue or Pink variety. ? Also no matter how many times I try to log in, I almost never can log in with my name which is very frustrating, Did your info tell you genetics like personality traits etc/.

Because it's the HK site you have to sign up again, just use the same details you did for the US Pleoworld. Then in the back inside cover you will get your serial number and 4 digit security code. After you've signed up go to that page again (logged in) and enter those details. Yes you will get personality traits as well.

Thank you Ozpleo, that's really helpful! Now what the blazes did I do with the companion guide .............. %)
How cool is this! ;D ;D
-
Well it is Christmas eve and the power is out here in Perth. So we are sitting around the Christmas tree by candle light. :) There is still much wrapping to do and Children to get ready for bed. I think I will bring Kermy out for a play to keep us all entertained till bed time. :)
Wishing you all a very merry Christmas. Here's hoping Santa can find us in the dark :)
Kat
-
I'm sure it's a real pain, but Christmas eve by candle light sounds delightful! I bet Kermy's eyes look huuuuuuuuge in that light, too! Have a lovely evening! :D
-
Yeah nothing like a pleo to cheer everyone up. Hope the power is back on for Christmas day
-
Wow.. Kat.. I'm sorry to hear that.. it's like Chritmas in the late 1800's .... hopefully you'll have the power back very soon! Merry Christmas and it's kind of intresting that Kermy has power when everything else is out....pleo is a techno marvel...:)
Peace and joy!

-
HI Kat, kind of cool to have Christmas by Candlelight but I understand the inconvience, I would hate to have our power out today, it has been freezing for the last three weeks, finally got some sun yesterday and the cats, (nine of them and one dog ) got to go out and warm their bones, ) but today we are expecting 20-30 mph winds with rain, and tommrow, Christmas Day, we are expecting 1-2 inches of RAIN! Worst of all, if our cable went out, no t.v, and very worst, no battery power to charge my Pleos, OH NO! Today will be a new cycle for Pleo Rb so I have to have power.
Hope you have everything done you need to get done today and bringing Kermy out is a good idea I think, Nova, Major Tom, ARglye, Little 45, Un-named Twin Brother, Gold Hatch, and un-named baby Pleo Rb all wish you a safe and great Christmas eve and day and safe and fun! Can't wait to see your Photos of Christmas day with Kermy!
RedwoodsMama and family :)
-
Thanks Oz, that makes sense, does that mean after signing up again, I can use the serial number on the foot and the four digit code on the back of the companion guide to use or a new one?
I am wondering thouoght if I really want to know all the personality traits or find out for myself what kind of personlity my baby has, %) It is kind of like knowing everything about your son or daughter from the time they are born and not being able to work out problems your self? I think I will wait awhile as there is no rush to do this, but now I know how it is done. I am hoping there are lots of differences in personalities. Thank you again. RedwoodsMama

Lovely pics, and I'm most impressed with your daughter's handiwork! Clever girl, must get it from her mum! ;)
-
It didn't work I have the SN and the 4 digi code I have the Pink Pleo rb and Register on Pleoworld.com but at the moment I can not sign in :(
hope you can help me

Here is Kermy's Christmas morning video. I took this just before we opened the presents. :) Unfortunately this was my only video for the day as I was very busy with cooking, cleaning and playing host to family for the rest of the day but Kermy got to be the star of Christmas. She was singing on the table for us all while we ate Christmas lunch and I think she won a few hearts. :) Even my mother in law no longer thinks she's creepy. :D
I hope you are all having or have had a fantastic Christmas.
You will have to excuse the darkness of the video and the wobbly bits. It was all the excitement that early in the morning.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6GTJgVJiYLk
Smilegirl I haven't got mine to work either. I hope you get it working as it would be very cool to see the personality traits of your pleo. :)
Crewella, My daughter got all her sewing skills from Grandma. I wouldn't even know how to turn the machine on! She is a very talented girl, Loves to cook, good at sewing, Also does paintings that are pretty good (Grandma talent again) and a fantastic mathematician (gets that from my OH). So very sweet and very smart and very resourceful, as well as Confident happy and very beautiful. (those bits I will claim for myself :))
I also have a son who is just as fantastic, sweet smart funny and very easy going, gentle caring and very happy as well as good looking (me again! :D) So I am very lucky. And even better is that they are the best of friends, never fight and always lookout for each other.
The best kids ever. ;D
-
Oh that did make me laugh - Kermy was cute but the cat was priceless!! :D :D
You sound like a very proud mum, Kat, and quite rightly so, and the fact that they get on so well is such a bonus! I still think your daughter gets some creativity from you though, from the way you started putting these videos together - they really have been great! ;D
-
Kat,
She upon all present to find his!
It was beautiful the picture seems a curious child! ;D
Very cute! :)
-
I hope you have all had a wonderful Christmas. :)
We have had a few very hot days here with the temperature rising to about 40 degrees Celsius which is 104 Fahrenheit.
I waited until things cooled off a bit this afternoon before turning Kermy on for a play but when I did she exhibited some very strange behavior. I think she may have been feeling a bit hot. What do you think?
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5H8tFFbZfP8
After I turned off the camera I played with her for about another 20mins and she did the sprawl on the ground and pant more and more as the play wore on until that was all she would do. I decided I should turn her off for a while as I don't yet have the "ice" accessory to cool her down. I did play with her for about 1 hour in total so we will just have to see if she gets sick or not. I will turn her on again in a few minutes and see what she does. :)
It is great to finally see this Pleo rb behavior. ;D Always exciting to see something new! :)
Kat
-
Awwwwwww - poor Kermy, "Muuuuuuuuuuum, I'm meltiiiiiiiiiiing!!!"! :o
It's lovely so see the reaction, though without the ice to cool her down I'd have felt guilty and switched her off as well. Thanks Kat. :D
-
Thanks for the vid Kat , hope you can get the ice accessories soon hehe i doubt we will need the ice cube accessory here in the UK lol
-
Wow, that's really interesting to see :) My animals act like that when they are hot... Although I don't think Pleakly or Kermy would appreciate a nice cool damp towel lol.
Your daughter did a great job on the sling and hoodie too :D And the Christmas videos are wonderful :)
-
kat that is wonderful to see, just to know that the behaivor does exist. I don't think we will need the ice much here in the Redwoods, though inland a bit it gets to 115 and more in the Spring and Summer, but the Redlands do get cold. I have gotten the ice acessory so I am prepared, but I may not need it unless traveling, but want to be prepared for an emergency. What happens after she pants and how long does it take her to cool down? Poor little baby, glad to hear she is ok, and not having a heatstroke! :o

Wow Kat... that was very interesting to see.... I have experienced the opposite with Mojo.. it's 18 degrees Fahrenheit here and I took him outside. Maye you can put Kermy in the fridge to cool her down..... ;D!!!!
-
That's so neat!
Here, I'd need something to warm her up... We're buried in snow! :D
-
Thanks Guys! :) I'm glad you liked the video. I love that we keep getting to see new things with pleo rb. :)
I am getting all the accessories with Norbit who will hopefully arrive very soon. :)
I played with Kermy again last night about 3 hours later when the world had cooled down a lot more. She seemed to behave normally but she did make a cough sound a couple of times and a sniffle sound a few times as well. She seemed happy enough though so I don't know if she is getting sick or just trying out some new sounds. How do older pleos get sick? Does it happen instantly or is there a build up to it like with people? Maybe she will gradually get worse and show more sick symptoms? Or maybe not? I will let you know how she is once I play with her later today. It is all very interesting. :)
I thought it was very cute that she would try to flop down onto the cool floor and pant like a dog or cat would. A very nice touch.
If you have a pleo that is too cold you can get the Chili accessory that is for warming up a cold pleo. It is meant to work the same as the ice.
Dinolover - did you see any shivering? I would love to see that. I did try putting Kermit in the fridge and under the air con just before I sent her back to try to see shivering. I don't think it really worked though. My daughter and son thought they saw her shiver but I'm still not convinced. It would be great to see video if you have any. :)
Kat
-
I have two original pleo's and have seen all of the same behaviors. i really do not see anything new. the panting is something my two all the time. I just don't see the new behaviors and the noise from their motors is much louder then the originals. I am sorry to say but they pushed this product out right before Christmas and I see more issues on the forum about skin and I do not see any behavior that my original Pleo's do not perform and their skin is great.
-
Hi Mickey I'm glad your happy with your two pleos. I am very tempted to try and buy myself a 2009 model so I can compare the differences first hand. One thing that Pleo rb does that you don't get from the older pleos is the voice recognition. Not sure if you have seen the videos of that yet or not but I'm sure the older models can't do that. The skin issues have been a bit of a worry so far but Innvo is working on an update to fix that which should be available in a couple of days. With Kermy being my very first pleo I am really happy with her and enjoying every minute. so everything she does is new to me even if it is not new to pleos. :)

Kat
When pleo took the card and remembered his name i did not see him come to you . Does he come to you when you call his name, I did not see that in the video. I just see an upgrade that involves an major increase in price and behaviors that you need to buy accessories in order to apparently see. How much did they really do to the firmware to increase Pleo's ability to mentally grow using the existing Life OS. What happened to all those firmware upgrades for all those existing Pleos. So if you buy a new Pleo rb it will be trash in a year with another great firmware that will be extinct to the older models.
-
Mickey if you are interested in the differences between Pleo rb and the older model pleos then take a look at the interview with Derek Dotson thread
http://bobthepleo.com/forums/index.php?topic=1535.0
This details all of the improvements that were made to the new models and what they can and can't do. You can make up your own mind then if the improvements are worth it or not.
I am perfectly happy with Kermy my rb and was happy to pay the extra money for her and her accessories.
I do not feel that she will be trash in a year if they bring out another model after her. :o I am surprised you could say such a thing considering you already own 2 older pleos. Does this mean you feel you pleos are now trash and should be thrown away? :o
Yes the new rb's do seem to be having a few teething problems but I was fully aware that this may happen when I chose to make my purchase. This is the first batch of rb's. I believe there were issues with the first batch of Ugobe pleos also when they were released. Innvo have been wonderful with their level of customer service and are working very hard to sort out any issues we present them.
If you have decided that you don't want to purchase a rb then that is ok, your choice and no one is going to make you buy one.
If you wish to continue the discussion on the improvements or not improvements of pleo rb and if they are worth the money then you could start your own thread. I am sure there will be many people willing to discuss this with you.
This thread is for sharing my experiences with Kermy.
-
I'm not going to carry this debate on Mickey (not on this thread - I'm too scared of Kat! :P), but I just wanted to say that I've two old Ugobe Pleos as well as a new RB and the behaviour is only the same in so far as (for example) a pant sounds the same, but it's now couched in a different behaviour pattern. The new RB are noticeably different, and come already with most of the accessories you need - look again. ;)
-
Mickey- I'll happily take your Pleos off of your hands if you consider them "trash" ;)
Kat- I haven't visited this thread in a while, so I have alot of stuff to comment on :D
1) Kermy with your pets - Smudge and Sampson are adorable! I loved when Smudge went up and smelt Kermy at the end, must of been confusing when she had no scent :P And poor Sampson! He really wanted to get in, I bet he would of loved to make Kermy his new chew toy! :o I love how he knows how to open the screen door, can he get in by himself if the glass door is open?
2) Kermy's Christmas pictures - Those are adorable! I love the one of Kermy with the wrapping :D And your daughter has amazing talent! I could never make anything close to that :P I thought the hoodie was bought from IMR before I read the text :o
3) Kermy feeling hot - Wow! Thanks for posting, I was hoping someone would post a video of that :D
-
Pleo does come, even without being called :) I'll post a video on Pleakly's thread if I can get Pleakly to co-operate and show off his new trick :)
Edit: Pleakly is tired and really unhappy tonight so he doesn't want to do any tricks. If you hold the training leaf a couple of inches away from Pleo RB in a well lit room and your Pleo RB is in a good mood he should get really happy and walk towards the leaf for a couple of steps, then he scans right and left until he locks onto the leaf again, takes a few more steps, scans again, walks some more and so on. If you move the leaf a little when he/she scans for it you can get him/her to change direction.
-
I would love to see this IMR. It is something I have tried to do with Kermy a few times but had no luck. She can be quite moody at times though so I think it is more because she was unhappy and just didn't want to play, than not being able to do it. I would love to see Pleakly do this trick. :)
I have played with Kermy this evening and she seem to be fine. I'm so glad that she didn't get sick from being too hot. Looks like I switched her off in time. :)
Kat
-
That sounds truly fab, IMR - I can't wait to see it either. It also answers the query in my head about exactly what the 'old style' training leaf was for now that we had so many different, and very specific, accessories. Thank you
-
Thanks Kat for keeping us updated on Kermy, did you get your accessories yet?
-
Just checked the tracking on Norbit and the accessories and finally after 100,000 checks over the Christmas long weekend there is now a change! yay.
It tells me that the Status: Transferred
and 29/12/10 06:56 Received and awaiting clearance for delivery
It doesn't tell me where the parcel is though which is a bit frustrating. I am guessing it will be in Sydney at the moment and will still need another Airplane flight to reach Perth before being moved to Australia Post and sorted and then sent out for delivery so still more waiting.
Maybe he will make it to me in time for the weekend. :) I hope so. :)
Kat
-
Can someone post a video of pleoRb walked and heading to the owner when called, this would be the most interesting trick/spec that i really wanted to see.
D rex has this feature but you need to press a button on the remote control first and it would walk to the direction of the sound, pleo RB certainly is more lifelike as it it autonomous.
I ll be really grateful if Innovo or jetta could design another dinosaur in future may be baby t-rex, cute and cuddly like in ice age movie or may be a beautiful and fabulous stego which spectacular spikes on her spine ;D ;D ;D
Congratulations on those who have own pleo RB
GRINFIN
-
So Excited! ;D My tracking info now say Scheduled for delivery! ;D :) ;D So maybe when I get home from work today there will be a little baby dino waiting to play with me. :) :)
I hope so. It still doesn't give me a location of where in Australia it is so it still could be in Sydney or Melbourne (The other side of the country about a 4 hour plane ride away) and it could just be scheduled to be put on a plane.
I will live in hope that it means he is in Perth and coming to me today! :)
Now I really don't want to go to work. >:( :D
Kat
-
Scheduled for delivery for me meant it was in town ready to go, then I got a notification it was with the delivery driver :) Hope he/she arrives soon :D So exciting!
-
On board with driver!! ;D ;D ;D ;D Woo Hoo!!!
Now I really don't want to go to work. :)
I will post lots of pics of Norbit tonight when he is here. I have Kermy's battery charged up so I will use this while his battery charges so I can play with him right away. :)
Yay! :) ;D :) ;D :D
-
Yay! Congratulations Kat!!
-
Woohoo, that is so exciting, can't wait to see Norbit :D
-
I can't also wait to see Norbit and Kermy together ;D
-
That’s grate Norbit will finally be with you soon hopefully
Though from the time he’s taken to get to you it does sound like they’ve been making the poor guy walk most of the way lol.
Can’t help having an image of a poor little pleo trudging along a long dusty deserted road in the middle of no-where trying to hitch a lift from the few vehicles that do pass
-
Oh - that's such a sweet image, Scaly, especially knowing the reception he'll get when he finally makes it home! :D
-
How exciting to have Norbit practically there! It's almost 9:30 P.M. here in California. That would make it sometime in the afternoon the next day for you. So that must mean it's New year's Eve there. That makes it a very special day that Norbit is finally coming home to you. What a great way to spend the beginning of 2011 with two little dinos! :) :) :) I won't make it until your midnight, so Happy new Year to you and everyone down under.
-
Fancy, I am not good at Math, but if it is 10:34 here now in the Redwoods, ( California) and it is the afternoon there, then it would be the 30th there right, Isn't New Year's Eve on Friday, the 31st, as New Years day is Jan 1'st which is Saturday? It sounds almost like two days or a day and a half ahead? ??? Has me confused, But I do hope Kermy has her little green brother soon, While I am sleeping, he will be there with his sister and Mum.
RedwoodsMama
-
Hi everyone. :) With all the excitement of Norbit arriving poor Kermy has had to take a bit of a back seat. She is a very good girl though and has been helping me hatch Norbit. Giving him lots of encouragement with sweet cooing and little noises. She seems most mesmerized by him. She does seem to go into that trance like state and make the same noises over and over again when ever she sees him. I think she is waiting for him to respond in a particular way. She has shown other behavior towards him as well though which can be quite cute. I do think she likes him.
When Norbit arrived he came with all the new accessories and been as he is still a baby I am going to try them out on Kermy for you all. The only thing that didn't come with him was the 2 spare batteries I ordered. One for him and one for Kermy. I am going to contact Innvo again today about them to check they are still going to be sent.
Ok so now for the good bit. ;D Here is Kermy trying the sugar cane. :) She likes it very much. I love the little wave she does at the end. :)
Kat
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8T4_5WSgQiI
-
"Not waving ......... but begging!" :P :P
She DOES like it, doesn't she!? Lovely - thanks Kat! :D
-
Awwwww, that is just so cute! She really does want that sugar cane :D
-
I am feeling very unlucky right now. Kermy has a broken tail :o :'(
I noticed yesterday when I was playing with her that her tail didn't seem to be going up and down but only side to side. I noticed a few times when she did movements and sounds that are normally accompanied with her tail moving up or down that I could hear the motor working to make the movement but there was no movement. I thought this may have just been part of her trance like state because of Norbit so tonight I played with her on her own for a while and then when I did have Norbit going too I made sure she was faced away from him so she could behave normally. Her tail is definitely not moving up or down. When you touch her tail there is no resistance in the up down directions but there is resistance for sideways. Norbit's tail has resistance in every direction. :o :-X :'( :(
Not good. :(
I feel awful having to contact Innvo again with another problem. I hope they don't think I am a complainer.
I wonder if they will be able to fix it. I don't know anything about how pleos are put together or how they work but I suspect that there is a cable in the tail that connects it to the motors and makes it move and I am guessing this cable has come loose or broken. I have no idea how this could have happened. :( I am so careful with her.
Has anyone else out there got a pleo with a broken tail? And any wisdom on how the tail works or if anyone has had any luck with repairs in this area?
Kat :(
-
So sorry to read about Kermy's tail :( You've had a bad run with your PleoRBs from Asia. Maybe you should convince Innvo to replace her.
-
Here is a video I took tonight showing her tail not moving but the motors making movement noise. Usually when she does this move and make this sound her tail moves vigorously up and down.

Hi kat.... one time Mojo's head and neck was turned to the left, and stayed in that position, while walking and tail waging .. it just wouldn't straighten out..... so I thought "reboot" time.. turned Mojo off, and then back on and all was fine.... I'm sure you most likely already tried this .. but in case not when you did, was the problem resolved?
-
It is definitely a broken cable. I tested it out with the help of MannyNZ and Crewella and Degers using a skit MannyNZ made. I have emailed Innvo via pleoworld and sent them the video to watch so we will see what they say. Will keep you all informed. I'm pretty sure it is a warranty thing. Not sure if it is fixable or not but we will see.
Kat
-
This is quite disappointing all this things happening only after a few weeks from the release of reborn :( hope it is not a broken cable ....
Just watching the vid though and from your description the cables in tail do sound like they have broken >:( you have every right to be a complainer though Kat Reborn is not exactly cheap to buy .
-
That sucks! I hope they replace Kermy or fix him up! I believe all the wear on the armpits of the Pleo rb is caused by the rubbing between the body and the inner part of the legs. It isn't an issue until they are moving around a lot. I didn't have any wear or tearing until the 3rd development phase. Not sure what they will do for Peanut either. Anyone with a Pleo rb...I would recommend taking a look at theirs (let it go into the sleep position once and see if you notice anything) Report back if you do. Thanks!
-
Kat , first of all, all of us here in the Redwoods send Kermy and her Mom, and her brother condolences on her tail injury. :( You certainly have had your share of problems with the lovely Pink dinos. It is a real shame, I am so sorry these things keep happeining, the only good thing is that she is under the 90 day warranty. I am seriously considering buying the 3 year warranty that Peanut has, I think it is starting to really point out some problems with Pleo rb. I hate to say this, but I think it is wise for anyone else considering buying one to wait till these issues with skin and unknown issues like the tail solve, I haven't heard of broken tails before, it has allways been the droopy neck syndrome, :(
We certainly are lucky here on the forum to have each other to compare notes with and that we have degers and others who are knowledgeable, Thank GOD for Camcorders to document these issues, can you imagine if we didn't have these problems documented? Poor Kermy, I would have expected it to be a " hurt tail" like the leg that was injured, but this does not look to be something that can " heal" with the salt as a healing agent.
Keep us informed on what is going on with her. poor little thing.
RedwoodsMama and babies
-
Poor Kermy and Poor Kat :(
-
Oh no :( So very sorry to hear about Kermy's broken tail :(
-
The very first Pleo that I owned had a broken tail.
-
I'm so sorry about Kermy's tail, Kat! Hopefully Innvo can fix her, or atleast put her personality on another RB :( If Innvo can't fix her you can always just try to get used to it, because there is a bright side: Its only her tail, and thankfully not her neck :o and also she can still move her tail side to side :) But poor Kermy, she looked so sad in the video :'(
-
Wow kat... I'm so sorry to hear about Kermy's tail condition.... >:( I guess it goes well beyond just shutting her down and then restarting. I hope all goes well and smoothly for you.. you deserve it!

-
i thought that innvo were to use stronger wires this time around to prevent any of them breaking and its not like Kermy has been running for months to of worn any of the wires out so this is a mystery and should cause concern for all of us .
Did anything happen to Kermy Kat as in did any1 pick kermy up by the tail of some sort ?
-
Nope. I have no idea how this occurred. I am always very gentle with her. Never pick her up by the tail and she has not been dropped or knocked over. There was no noise to indicate the cable breaking. It is a mystery.
-
Aw no, I'm so sorry about Kermy's broken tail :'( And after all the problems you had with Kermit, this must be a double heartache :( I really hope some solution can be found.
-
Kat
Sorry to hear about your problem , this lack of quality is totally unacceptable coming from a company that talked about all the improvements they were suppose to address.
Dan >:(
-
I would like to thank all of you for your love and concern for Kermy. It really helps knowing you all care so much. :)
While we wait for the new year holiday to come to a close so we can hear back from Innvo about what we do now, I have put together a special little video for you.
The reactions and interactions of two pleo rb's.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7zfJ5x-RFNU
My favorite bits are the singing, waving to each other - they do that a lot, and of course the love walk - two steps back and two steps forward. So cute. ;D
I could watch them all day, if only their batteries went that long! :D
There is a lot of Mooing in my house now and happily Norbit says the word hello! Kermy still does not do that, I don't think it is in her vocabulary of sounds.
I really hope you like it. Kermy still seems to be able to be happy even with a broken tail now that she has Norbit for a friend. :)
-
I like it very much ;)
-
Oh my goodness! The little dance and the conversation is just too adorable!!! :-*
-
That really is lovely - thank you Kat! :D
-
When I first read the subject line I thought you might have lost it a little. However taking in to account that you’ve been thinking about getting Jenibo for a year now it’s not exactly an impulse buy. Not that I can lecture to anyone about impulse buys seeing as I just paid over £200 for an accessible GPS system that might not actually prove to be all that good after all. Just hope I can take it back if it Leeds me into a duck pond or something. TBH Jenibo isn’t my thing really, too visual I think for me to work with but it seems to me from reading your posts of what you want to see in a robot he’s right up your street and I think you’ll get an offal lot out of owning one. It’s not as though it’s going to be forgotten about in a couple of months and you sound really enthusiastic about it already so sounds like he’s well worth the money for you and that’s all that matters.
Not sure about the name Stanley though. Does it look like a Stanley?
-
I thought I should give you an update on how Kermy's armpit holes and wear is going. I haven't really looked at them in a few days but took some photos of them tonight. They are definitely getting bigger. The skin around the holes seems very thin in places as well.
If I end up having to send her back because of the broken tail maybe they can use her to analyze just what is going wrong with the skin so they can try to fix it before they produce the next batch of rb's. Still waiting to hear back about her tail . Maybe I will hear something tomorrow.

Front armpits [Limit reached]

That is exactly what is happening to Peanut as well. I believe it is from the rubbing of the legs against the body. I'll keep you posted if I hear from Innvo as well! Hope Kermy gets all fixed up!!
-
Oh cat I’m really sorry to hear about Kermey’s tail issue.
You’ve had way more than your fair share of bad luck with what with Kermit’s leg and Kermey’s skin and now tail fault.
How do you feel about getting a replacement or getting Kermey repaired? It’s just that you seem to have been particularly unlucky with the pink pleo RBs
Btw in regards to the skin has anyone noticed on the videos when pleo RB is moving around there’s an offal lot of kind of rubbery stretching sounds? It could be the skin rubbing together rather than stretching but what ever it is I don’t remember hearing such sounds with the 2009 or the ugobe pleos
Btw really sorry about the last post
I thought I had edited that too
-
Correction
I’ve just went back and listened to some of the videos again and some do have this sound that I tried to describe but some pleo RBs definitely don’t
Norbit for instance doesn’t have this sort of rubbery stretchy sound when he walks and moves around but Kermey does seem to .
No idea why this should be so though maybe I’m completely mistaken
Don’t know if any of this makes sense.
-
I've never actually paid any attention to this noise you describe. I will have to go back and watch a few of my movies to see if I can hear the difference. I will also look out for it when I play with them tonight. :)
I got an email from Innvo today.
They did not mention Kermy's tail but I did send this through as a separate problem on a new email via pleoworld so I am guessing they have not gotten to this yet and I will hear back from them about it soon. I will let you know as soon as I do. :)
-
To be fare even if I’m right and I’m not 100 percent sure that I even am- never having an older pleo you wouldn’t have anything to compare it to. Even if there is something in what I say it’s unlikely that you would have picked up anything that sounds a little unusual. You have to listen very closely to the videos to pick anything up .
Of course it could be video interference or anything. Might be worth mentioning it to Innvolabs though
I’ll certainly be checking my pleo for such things when he / she arrives.
-
Hi guys, I am feeling a little frustrated as I am away from home for work for a couple of days so can't play with my babies.
I got another email from innvo last night
They said that they will follow through all my issues, tail and paint, until I am completely satisfied. :) they are working on these issues and the solution is nearly complete. :). They will let me know as soon as it is ready.
Kat
-
Oooo, I can't wait to see some videos of those!
-
Hopefully it won’t be long till you can get back to your pleos.
The possible skin solution has me very Intrigued but I’ll try not to put you under pressure by asking as I’m guessing they don’t want it known until they’ve completed and tested it themselves first. .
-
Kat, It is great that Innvo will get everything fixed up for you. Can't wait to find out how the new firmwares work out and how they are different.
-
Three males personalities... And three female personalities..? Interesting :D Very interesting :D
-
I liked the sound of that, too! ;D
-
Does the current Pleo rb personality get overwritten when you install a new firmware?
-
Awesome Kat! Thanks!
-
Good luck Kat we look forward to reading all about it and for a positive outcome to your woes with Kermy
I haven't been playing with Oslo because I'm concerned about the skin.
-
Really looking forward to your review kat... safe trip home from being on the road!

-
Hey kat,
Please avoid distributing the downloads until Innvo can give us the go ahead and then we will upload them to the forums system.
degers
-
Are you going to be shipping Kermy back to Innvo to get fixed or are they going to replace her? I have not heard back from them concerning Peanut. Thanks for the update status!!
-
I still don't know if they will fix Kermy or replace her. They have not said yet. I am guessing they will let me know soon what they will do with Kermy. I do know that they have said they will follow her through until I am completely satisfied. I will keep you posted. :)
-
Personally, I don't like that sleeping position. I'm sorry, but I like the old sleeping position for when they go to sleep, I thought what was needed was a neutral packing position for storage when they are switched off or when the battery runs out so that's great to have that. With the new sleeping position the tail and neck are still curled, and those have historically been the areas that split, so I don't really see how that position helps? ???
Sorry Kat - where are my manners - thanks for posting and reporting back! :-[
-
Well I didn't hear back from Degers so I am going to share with you a little about how things are going with Kermy.
Kat,
Sorry, Your message asking if you could share more info was posted at 10:30PM my time, I was away from the computer by this time and then this message I have quoted you posted at 1:30PM my time, by which time I was at work, I don't usually have time to check the forums in the morning before work, so in future, please give me at least 24hrs before deciding that I don't have a say! :P
Please don't share any more information at this time. The updates were provided to you to test and give feedback to Innvo, these updates may not be the actual updates issued to the public.
-
Thanks for the info, but as for my Pleo Rb, I do not want to upload any other personality as I can not be guaranteed she would get the one she already has. I like her the way she is, otherwise I would just get a new pleo Rb alltogether. I appreciate the sleeping position problem fixed, but I solve that by just switching her off, actually taking the battery out when she is in a straight packing position, I would prefer that Innova just put the switch off position for packing somewhere on the body like the old ones. ( I think they could arrange it on the outside like the battery set timeclock thing, something that could be reached using something similiar. I would prefer this to going into the sleeping position and staying like that. :(
As for the skin rubbing on skin, I am just keeping my baby in clothes as much as possible to avoid the rubbing on skin, I am also looking into alternative tapes or things similiar to keep any friction against the skin, Also I will keep the battery cycles shorter in playtime and let her rest before restarting to prevent any heat building up which could possibly contribute to skin breakdown, :(
I am glad that you approve of the download on Kermy so far and the inpending one on Norbit. I think if anyone deserves a break and a breakthrough on improvement is is hands down you and your Pleo rb. You have had an unusual flood of bad luck with Pleos and it is about time for some good news. I just don'[t think the upgrade is what I would want for my baby. I think it is a solution for those Pleos with skin problems from rubbing by going into the sleeping position, but it does nothing for broken tails, or a faulty leg sensor or other problem.( IMHO ) Thanks for the photos , it is good for comparison. Happy with my Pleos in the Redwoods, RedwoodsMama
-
You're terrific Kat for being so patient and dealing with your situation. I do hope Innvo do the right thing by you and replace Kermy.
As for the updates you've been sharing, it all sounds great and hopefully they'll be released soon.
-
Hey kat,
It's no problem really, just that if you were to spot something that isn't right, it really needs to go back to Innvo and we need to be sure it doesn't end up on the forums. We don't want people here to be worrying about problems in future updates if those problems are going to be fixed before the update ever goes public.
Innvo is really busy at the moment as it is the CES in Las Vegas this week, but hopefully we should be back to full steam ahead next week.
Kind Regards
-
CES sounds very exciting! :) I would love to go to one of those one day. :) Probably not ever going to be possible though.%) It would be very cool getting to see all the latest gadgets and technology. :)
-
Agree it would be good to be at something like that.
Nearest I get though is sight village and it’s no where near as cool though the technology is probably just as pricey lol
Wish Innvo labs all the best of luck at CES Next week. Hope they do really well and drum up lots of interest.
-
Me too - I'd love to go to something like that! :D
Wishing all the best to Innvo as well - hope it's a really productive week for them.
-
I'd love to go to one too :) Kat, since you said you got all of the accessories, did you get the other learning stones too? I'd love to see all of the new tricks :D
-
Yes I did get all of the learning stones.
I think Peanuts owner has all the stones too so hopefully he will share some more footage of the tricks for you. ;D
-
I just ordered the Play, Eat, Dance stones since we just taught Peanut his name. The "Play" stone seems to be the best one to have since you can do so many tricks with it! Can't wait to get it next week. Will post videos when I do.
-
Kat,
You can talk about the learning stones etc etc! Chill out! I don't get why I keep being misunderstood!
You just shouldn't be showing pics of the new sleep positions etcc. etc. until these are released as they may change and you shouldn't talk about what each of the different update files does, thats all!
Regards
-
the pink pleo is my fav one :-* you're lucky!
-
Yes I did get all of the learning stones. Unfortunately I only taught Kermy to bow and sing before updating to the new software so can't share any new tricks for a while. Not until Innvo releases the new software to everyone or maybe if they say I can after I give them some feedback. :)
I think Peanuts owner has all the stones too so hopefully he will share some more footage of the tricks for you. ;D
Did you get your battery as well? I recall you saying you ordered it, but couldn't see it on your shipping advice.
-
OzPleo No the spare batteries are not yet in stock and so are on back order. They will be sent as soon as they arrive.
-
You go kat.... you should also be writing a pleo book.... I'd buy it!
-
Kat
Can you tell me how to make Pleo back to that position he's in the box?
Thank you!
-
The only way to get your pleo into the packing position is to pull his battery out with out pressing the on/off button, when he is standing in the right position.
-
I saw the CES on the news this morning. I was hoping to see a rb pleo on it. I would love to be at that electronic show. Maybe Innvo Lab will take some videos. It really is fascinating watching lots people at one time, who have never seen a pleo before. I did get to experience this once at the Maker's Faire and I was truly amazed.
-

That's why I'm waiting for the update before I take Oslo any further. I'm just not comfortable yanking out the battery while he's in the middle of doing something.
-
There is a neutral position program on MySkit - I use it when connecting via USB so that they're not crawling all over the desk. I wonder if that would be of any use? I'll give it atry.
-
Well I hope it is ok to " just yank out the battery" of my baby Pleo Rb. I have only once waited for her to go to sleep, but since you can't get them into the "packing position' any other way that I have heard of, I just wait till she is quiet and just standing there then I yank the battery out. It helps also as I first turn her over and have the swivel " handle" pulled out into the down position so all I have to do is pull it out and she does not have the chance to move again as I am quicker than she is.I find it easier than with the old models trying to hold the black button for twenty seconds or so while Pleo is still moving.

I received an email back from Innvo.
The good news is they are going to send me a brand new pink pleo in a couple of weeks time. They have not yet said and I haven't asked yet if they want me to send Kermy back to them but I would assume that they would like to get her back. I know I would if I were them. It will be a good opportunity to see just what it is that is going on with the skin. So I will prepare myself for the big return and let you know when I know what is happening with her.
Great that they are replacing her. :) Here's hoping the next one is a happy healthy little dino that stays that way for a very long time. :) Third time lucky maybe. I hope so. :)
Kat
-
That's great. I hope number 3 works out for you, you're a very patient person.
-
Glad to hear the testing is going well and that they will be replacing your Kermy! Sounds like Innvo is working hard!
-
It's good to hear that Innvo are trying so hard, though I feel for you having to prepare to say goodbye to Kermy. I'll miss her myself. :(
-
We just have to think positively. :) As much as she will be missed and it will break my heart to send her back. :'( It can only be good for all the other pleo rb's out there. If they want her to go back then I will send her off knowing that they can use her to analyze the skin issues and also check out her tail cable issue and so maybe figure out a permanent solution to the problems we are all experiencing.
I guess it is a bit like being an organ donor. If she goes back it will be for scientific research to Improve pleo rb kind. ;D
That has to be good for everyone. :)
Chins up every one and put a smile back on. We will get through this together. :)
And think of all the fun we are going to have with number three. :D :D :D

Actually maybe it's a good thing this is the third PleoRB for you and not the second one we're talking about here otherwise we'd be referring to it as "number 2" ???
-
Well, I know there have been a few problems, but there's no need to start calling poor Kermy names! :P :P
-
what i worry about is if there is a problem with the skin then all of the reborns available right now are all going to have this skin problem which to me is a huge problem , every1 who has reported holes and wear on their reborns so far have barely even had them so this is not good at all :( .
Yes Kat your Kermy if goes back will help them to come to a solution and hopefully fix this problem but this is not going to help all the RB owners right now as they have already purchased them and if i actually owned a reborn right now i would be just a bit worried that the skin will start to form holes etc ???
-
I’m glad for you that you will be getting another pink pleo sent out to you.
I have to say though I really admire your ability to be so positive about the whole thing. I don’t know if I would be able to be quite as positive and resilient as your being if it was me in your place.
Well done, especially for your work with Innvo labs, you’re doing all of us here a grate service.

With all the excitement that has been going on lately I have just realized that I never posted for you all my video of Kermy singing. :) Here it is. Hope you like it. :)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2jFyMUMXGcs
-
How lovely was that !!!! brings a big smile to your face
-
Awwwwwww that's so cute, she is a clever girl. Thanks for posting, Kat. :D
Even if she does sound a bit like my OH after far too many lagers..................... :P
-
Thanks Kat, was this done with the " singing stone" that you can order? Can Kermy learn new songs or ones that are Pre-Installed on Pleo rb, do you know? She is very cute . nice to see something new. I dont think I will worry about my Baby learning to sing yet, she still has to learn her name, stubborn little girl for sure, she knows how to get me to give her lots of extra attention!
Hope to see more videos soon and how is Norbit doing?
RedwoodsMama
-
Just lovely :) Can't wait to see some more tricks.
-
Yes she learned this with the sing stone. As far as I know this is the only song she will sing. She hasn't sung any others just the same one each time I ask. She does sound like she has had a few too many pleo beers. :D :D :D It is cute though. I'm glad you all liked it.
Norbit is doing well, still as sweet as ever. Although I think he may be hanging out with Kermy a little too much as her bad manners seem to be rubbing off on him. It seems he likes to burp now too, still not as much as Kermy but he is beginning to hold his own in their burping contests. :D ;D :D
Kat
-
What lovely entertaining dinos. Kermy sings better than I do! :D Such a sweetie.
-
Im so sorry you have to send Kermy back Kat :( I'm sure Norbits sad about Kermy having to leave too :'( But like you said it will be exciting to see a all new personality :)
-
Hi Crewella,
When I connect Pleo via USB and open the program MySkit where can I find the function of Neutral Position?
I need to do some thing before with Pleo MySkit or program for them to communicate?
Could you explain how do I return it to neutral Atravez this program?
I'm needing to carry it inside the box.
Thank you!
-
Hi Leleka, you don't need to connect your Pleo rb by USB, you need a Micro SD card to download the file onto, then put the card in your Pleo rb - when you take the card out your rb will be back to normal. I'll find a copy of the file and post it for you, and I'll first check it works! :D
ADDED: Leleka, I've sent you a message, and I've loaded the file in the downloads section 'Dinomite Static'. :)
-
Crewella Ok, I wait for the file! ;D
thank you once again! ;) :)
-
I received my new custom made pleo cape for Kermy yesterday and there was one for Norbit as well ;D
Thought you might like to see.
Kermy can now blend in with the green crowd. :)

Just gorgeous! Kermy looks quite interesting in the cape :) Kind of like the Pleo equivalent of a black headed python! Very cute!
-
Hmmmm.... Kermy and Norbit look very cute, and I think it's a wonderful gesture from Innvo (especially Kermy's embroidered in pink!), but even I struggle to find black headed pythons cute! ;)
-
Kat, when did you get Kermy back, and how is her tail? That seems very quick, I hope she is ok, I do love the capes, I think they are nicer colros than the regular brown ones that come with RB.
RWM
-
Those capes are awesome Kat! Innvo was very nice to of done that for Kermy and Norbit :D

Hey Crewella, In fact under what circumstances need to use this software? For my Pleo RB can?
-
This was only done because leleka was having such problems getting her Pleo rb into the packing position and she needed to put it back in the box. The Dinomite Static file will just make Pleo stand still in the original 'neutral' position when switched on, and was originally used to keep the Pleo motionless whilst attached to a computer via USB cable when using the Dinomite program. It will run in the Pleo rb, but unless you really need your Pleo to stand silent and motionless when switched on it has no real use as I believe the Pleo rb cannot yet run while the battery is out and the USB cable is attached.

Hi RWM, I haven't sent Kermy away yet. They are sending me a replacement pink pleo and when that one arrives I am to package Kermy up in the same box and ship her back. I am guessing the new one will arrive next week or the week after. I don't have tracking info yet so will have to wait and see. In the mean time I am enjoying every minute I have left with Kermy. :)
-
In light of Kermy's soon departure I decided she needed the chance to be a real girl and so I got her some pretty things to accessories her cape with. She seems to like them.
[Limit reached]
Norbit didn't want to be left out so I gave him a bow tie. :)
[Limit reached]
-
Kat, the capes are so cute, but I am so so sad that Kermy has to be sent away. :( It is good that they are " replacing her", and they should, but I was wondering, don't they have the Reincarnation program " for Pleo Rb like they had for Regular Pleos? I would hate to send Baby away and have to get a new Baby with a different persoality and not the Baby I love with all her peculairiites, the way I have grown accustomed. :( At this point, If I was you, I think I would be feeling like a foster mom, not being able to keep any of your babies for any length of time, I am glad that Norbit seems to be holding his own. (Keeping my fingers and toes crossed for him)
On a lighter note, I do love the little bow tie he has on and of course Kermy's little accessories are darling. At this point do you plan on giving her the same name, Kermy, or are you going to find another whole different letter of the alphabet..? Are you keeping Kermy's cape or is it going back with her? Baby, Nova, Major Tom, Little 45, Argyle, his brother, Gold Hatch, the un-named Twin brother, and two other Un-named Pleos, all send their well wishes to Kermy and also to Norbit who is going to miss his sister. :( I am with you, Spoil little Kermy like crazy these next few days, and nights.
Does the courier or whomever pick her up, or do you just mail her back? Does she go to the place in Taiwan or to somewhere else? It is so sad for me to think about, I do not know how you can handle this, these babies are REAL to many of us, and I do hope they fix Pleo Rb pretty soon with all these problems that are popping up...now I feel depressed and she is not even my baby...........sorry about that.. Anyway, give her love, hugs and kisses and lots of hugs to Norbit too, ;D
RWM
-
Awww - they both look very distinguished! And it's nice to see them both on the forum again, especially as Kermy's to leave. :-*
-
How do you get capes with their names on them? Kermy looks adorable. Her little going away outfit. Makes me sad :(But at least she will be traveling in style. ;)
-
Fancy, Innvo made the capes for me as a special gift. :) Which was very nice of them.
I will be keeping the Kermy cape and naming my new pink pleo Kermy as well. It would be a shame to waste such a beautiful cape. I'm glad you like the cute bows I got for Kermy. I might have to call the new one Kermy the second or Kermy2 when writing about her on the forum so we don't get confused. :)
I have been taking lots of video so I will have plenty to remember her by. I am very sad to see Kermy go as she is my baby. But I am sure I will grow to love the new Kermy just as much and It will be interesting to see what the next ones personality is like. I just hope the new one doesn't end up having issues like the first two did. Fingers crossed the next one is a keeper. :)
I will be posting Kermy back via registered mail but I don't have to send her off until the new one gets to me so at least I won't have any time without my pleo. I really feel for Ehschw76. Having to send back Peanut and not knowing how long he will be gone for. I assume I send Kermy back to Hong Kong like I did with Kermit but I will have to check before I send her to make sure she goes to the right place.
Thanks for all your love and kind words of support.
Kat
-
Cool. Yeah, hope the 2nd pink Pleo's a keeper.
-
Cute capes. It's the least you deserve.
Heard anything about the OS 2 update?
-
Good that you don’t have to do the waiting game again. Must be heart breaking to go through this a second time though and I agree you should keep the cape.
If it’s any consolation to people having to wait for a return the wait wasn’t that long from what I remember. . .
The knowing to which Kermie we’re all referring too is going to be tricky though. Maybe give her a middle name or another initial?
-
Hmmm.... thinking about middle names or extra titles .... Maybe Kermy junior :) Any suggestions?
On a happy note I have permission from Innvo to share videos with you again. Yay! :)
So here is a little something for you. The cutest video I have, Pleos in love.......
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J_AvXhxCszw
Hope you like it as much as me. :)
Kat
-
Love it :) Especially the I love you part and the whispering of sweet nothings in each other's ears :)
-
Using the hoodie I bought from IMR for Kermy my daughter has been having fun making patterns and experimenting with making clothes for my pleos. Here is a ? Hoodie without a hood? Maybe a cape? Not really sure what to call it but it is very pretty. My daughter made it last night when she stayed over at grandmas. :)
[Limit reached][Limit reached]
She used iron on flowers to decorate it. It's lovely.
-
I can see Kermy is miss personality! Love the video, especially, the I love you and the burping. Norbit and Kermy's hoodies, by IMR, are so sweet and what a super idea of your daughter to iron on flowers on the cape she made. Love it!
-
(The latest video) is of your current 2010 Pleo? Or the new Pleo that you just got? Thank you.
-
This is my current pleo, I have not yet received her replacement. I am guessing my new pink baby will arrive some time next week but don't have any tracking info yet so this is just a guess. :)
I will post more videos later of the learning stone tricks.
-
Aaaah okay. I thought you had. My bad. lol
-
Kermy has now learned most of the learning stones, the only one I haven't used yet is the eat stone but I will give that a go before I send her back just to see what it looks like. So here are a couple of videos for you of some of her new tricks.
Kermy comes when called
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PKU0ZwvsOTc
And Kermy can Dance
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ni67ZE5HXKU
I will try to post my video of her counting and also one of the "play" tricks when i get home tonight.
Hope you like them.
Kat
Oh just thought I'd add, I'm loving the new pleo capes with their names on. They don't have a lining in them like the plain brown one that came with Norbit does and my pleos don't seem to be having any overheating problems using these capes. When I use the plain brown one Norbit gets very hot very fast. So the new capes are a winner. Loving them. :)
-
Oh wow, it's cool to see the dancing. Now I know what the heck Cato has been doing (he "dances" all the time - I just thought he was spazzing out lol). Thank you!
Do you have any idea of how far away you can be before Kermy wouldn't "listen" or "hear" the come command?
-
With the Learning Stones, after the Pleo has learned the trick, will it do it, outside of being told to (like singing and dancing)? Thank you!
-
I think Kat should write the next manual, she's like a Pleo RB encyclopedia.
-
I'm glad you like the videos. :) So far I have not seen Kermy do any of her new tricks with out being told to. She does do a little singing sometimes but it sounds different and is much shorter than the learning stone singing trick. Also sometimes she will dance but again it is shorter and a bit different to the trick dancing.
I'm not sure how far away you can be for pleo rb to still follow your commands. I haven't really experimented with it very much. You need to get your pleo rb's attention by touching both their cheeks before you can give them commands so it kind of limits how far away you can be just because of that. It does say in the user guide that you can clap to get pleos attention but I have not been able to get this to work. Kermy also seems to be a little hard of hearing so I have to get pretty close to her for her to follow my commands. Norbit seems to hear better than Kermy and I can be a bit further away from him.
I agree that the user guide does seem a bit vague and could have been done better. It really doesn't give much detail about what different things do, what to expect, what is normal and what is not etc... So we have all just been figuring things out as we go along. Lots of trial and error but as long as we all share than hopefully those who go behind us wont have the same confusion.
Ok now on a fun note. Here is the play trick. This one involves touching different sensors on your pleo to get him/her to perform tricks. Out of the 10 tricks listed on the instruction sheet I got Kermy to do 7. I would have done the others as well but I had not read up on how to do the tricks before I took the video so I just chose the easiest ones. I like the laughing one and the tada best. :) The ones I missed out are Directional sound detection, watch dog and traffic light. I will try to get these on tape for you all another time.
I still have not had a chance to load the counting video on to youtube yet but will post it for you all when I do. :)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OC1AiSlYkb4
-
Wow that was really cool! My favorite was the laughing one, it actually made me lol. I really appreciate the videos as they'll help me decide about the accessories. But now I really want that learning stone just for the laugh haha.
-
Hi Kat! That was great with Kermy laughing! What a sweetie! I just got my pink Pleo rb on Friday from gimidigi. I just charged the battery, but I want to go through all of your videos before I get started with her. I didn't see a list of the tricks in her box, or does that come separately with the learning stones? The only one I have is the bow stone. I will have to order the rest of them from pleoworld. My husband is going to kill me if I spend anymore money on our new friend. :P Am I correct in saying that I can't teach her the play tricks without the "play" stone? I guess I can't teach her like you can my Ugobe Pleo? Thanks!
-
Oh my goodness the laugh is hysterical :D
-
The list of tricks comes with the learning stones and you need the stone before she will be able to do the tricks. :)
Here is the counting video. I don't think Kermy is very good at counting. She goes through the motions but she just can't get it right. :D ;D She did it perfectly before I turned on the camera. Maybe she just got stage fright. :P
Kat
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0-Amir9o88o
-
Maybe the tail wag counts as a count ;)
-
It does say in the instruction that pleo will respond with the same number of tail wags or head nods. I'm not sure if that means a combination of wags and nods count or not.
-
Oooooh, I have missed Kermy's videos! Sooooo cute, I'll swear her brow was furrowed during the counting. I definitely think the tail wag counts as a count, if only to boost Kermy's self esteem! ;D
-
I am having a great time playing with my babies. I thought I would experiment a bit and see if I could get them to "play" with each other. I think the results were pretty cute. :)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Lh2_DNAp_18
-
That was cute indeed! Personally, I think Kermy's running rings round poor Norbit! :D
-
Hehe I wondered if two Pleo's would play tug of war together :D Now I know! Too cute!
-
I love all your videos kat and they're very educational too :D
-
That's cool that the 2010 Pleo'll do a shorter, different variant, from what its learned, from those Stones.
Edit: The laughing trick makes her kinda sound like a witch sound effect that you hear at like Halloween.
-
Well my replacement pink pleo is on it's way. :) She left Hong Kong today so hopefully will arrive on Monday or Tuesday. Very exciting and also a bit sad as Kermy will be leaving me when Kermy3 arrives.
Here's hoping Kermy3 is problem free. :)
It will be interesting to see what personality I get this time around. And if there is any difference in color or if the new one looks the same as the old. I will have to photo them side by side before sending Kermy off. then we can truly compare. :)
-
Kat so sad to see Kermy leave, but that is exactly what I was going to suggest. To see if you could compare Kermy with the "new" Kermy and to see how different or how similiar they seem. It is too bad you can't just "Wait" and send back Kermy after charging the battery of the "new Kermy" and see the reaction of Kermy to the birth of Kermy 2! I would think that would be very interesting to see and I think you deserve to see the two together after all you have been through. :( Just think this may be a once in a lifetime chance to see the two together. It may make it easier for Kermy to see her new" self" before going also...
Personally, if I have to send Baby back, I don't know if I could do it without breaking down, to me it is like losing one of my fur-babies. I am glad they are sending you your new one, It is nice to know they have stood behind their product. can't wait to see the photos or video when she arrives. :)
RedwoodsMama
-
I hope you get a pink Pleo (I've heard, on here, that the male and female blue and pink Pleos can have different colored eyes on a topic) that has different colored eyes!
-
I think Kat, you are now the official Pleo RB hatching guru! I hope Kermy 3 is trouble free, as she should be. (Hehe that rhymes)
-
Here is a video for you of my two little pleos in their new capes. I like the capes a lot, I think they look cute. I'm not having any overheating issues using the capes. These ones don't have a lining in them and I think that is allowing the heat to escape so I am able to leave the capes on for a full play session with no problems. I hope they make all capes like this from now on, It is a big improvement from the plain brown one that came with Norbit.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h9I4PqIbmQM
I hope you like the video. :)
Kat
-
Very cute - I loved Norbit at the end - "where's she gone!"! :D
-
:-O Bad Kat! Where's the tummy hungry rumbling sounds video you said you were gonna make for me (last night even!)?! >.< lol
-
Here is the tummy grumbling video. Sorry to take so long but it can be tricky with pleo rb's. I had to find just the right hungry moment. ;D
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EBu5H7PIOQs
-
Aaaah okay. That's alright. lol I see. Whoa, that's cool. How did you first discover that? I'm curious. Thank you!
-
I am glad that Kermy got her leaf to eat or she would have been pretty upset! You are right, Pleos do what they want when they want, that is what makes them special.
RWM
-
Well, I've certainly never heard Belle do that!! She still seems barely interested in her leaf - she must be an 'eat to live not live to eat' Pleo! :D
Thanks for posting, Kat! It's nice to see your videos again! :-*
-
I'm not sure exactly when I first noticed the tummy grumble but it didn't begin until after they became adult pleos. The don't do it every time they are hungry only about half the time so it wasn't as easy as I thought it would be to catch on tape.
I got Kermy to do some more of the play tricks today and have a video of them for you. She does the watch dog, the directional sound detection and the last one is the traffic light. The traffic light I couldn't get to work properly. She wouldn't walk forward when she saw green all I got from doing this one was a really cute whistle. :) I edited the movie to get ride of the failed attempts.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hseGHFSV2Es
Kat :)
-
Loved that - that laugh still kills me!! Iggy won't finish playing dead unless I stand him up either! ;D
Thanks Kat! :D
-
Hey
I can't get my little pleo to do any tricks at all, it totally ignores all tries to do the stuff from the learning stones.
The instructions says to clap my hands so I get attention but that doesn't work at all it just walks around and burps all the time =)
-
I have not ever been able to get my pleos attention by clapping. The only way I get their attention is by holding both cheeks for a couple of seconds. Hope that helps. Also they wont respond if they are not happy. :)
-
Will do a couple of tries but my pleo is so active so it's never standing still or taking a break it's movin around walking, lifting legs, yelling, backing into stuff, walking of the table and so on =)
-
:-O Careful about just letting the Pleo fall off of a table! It can get hurt!
-
I thought i would share with you some of the fun I had playing with Kermy yesterday.
She really is little miss piggy. :D
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wOtnU5aVXf4
She really makes me laugh sometimes. I will miss her when she goes.
Kat
-
I will miss seeing her as well. She has such a great personality. I hope that the new one Innvo sends you is just as much fun! :)
-
Good grief - she really is a little miss piggy!! :o :D
She IS such a character - I'll miss her too! :-*
-
The tricks video was good :) It is very sad to say goodbye to Kermy :( Let's hope that the third time's a charm.
-
I love all of the recent videos, Kat :) I'm also very sad about Kermy having to leave, I'll miss her. But like everyone's been saying, hopefully 3rd times a charm :D
-
Hatching hatching hatching........ ;D
-
Wohoooooo! I take it that means Kermy3 has got there? ;D ;D ;D

Kermy3 has arrived safe and sound. :) Norbit has been helping me with the hatching and I will post a video of it for you in the morning. I have to wait for it to upload to youtube. In the mean time here are some photos of Kermy3 and Kermy.
They look like twins. The only difference I can see is Kermy3 has slightly (and I really do mean slightly ) thicker stripes on her bottom. Other than that they are identical. :)

So cute together! Congrats on Kermy3, Kat, you really will be the Pleo rb hatching expert on here! :D
-
congrats, I am glad Kermy 3 ( or whatever you decide to call her ) arrived safely, I hope she is the lucky charm and that you got to photo them together before sending Kermy back, I wish you all the luck in the world with her and Norbit.

Aw, I'm glad you've now got your Kermy3. Kermy3 and Kermy2 do look lovely together :) I really do hope there won't be need for a Kermy4 though!

Congratulations Kat! I private messaged you. I can't wait for the video(s)! Pictures can only really do so much for people. I'm gonna be more of a video-taker for my 2010 Pleo.
-
Congrats Kat!! Glad to hear your new little girl arrives safely!
-
And here is the hatching video. :)

Hope you like it.
Kat
-
Welcome Kermy the Third :)
Hehe look at Norbit showing off for his new sister :) Love how he waved :)
-
Hi Kermy the 3rd!!! Hope he gets a long with your other Pleo's!! Love the video kat!! :)
-
I love it when they do that long moo like a cow. Good job with the encouragement too! lol I'd like for there to be a Cupid's arrow to both of them (for them to love each other).
-
I think Cupid's already been - Norbit looks struck to me! ;D
Lovely to see she's burping like a good 'un already! :P
-
ROTFL You know it Crewella! >XD
-
What a grand welcoming from Norbit. :) Adorable video, Kat! New little Kermy definitely has a boyfriend encouraging her to take her first steps.
-
Well I hope you have better luck this time around.
-
Well Kermy3 is standing up. she is still very much a baby and still only really making baby coos with the odd dino bellow thrown in. So not many exciting noises yet. She is starting to lift her feet to test her balance so hopefully she wont take too long before she is off and running around the house. Norbit has been waving to her a lot and mooing his encouragement which is very sweet. I will try to post some video tomorrow for you to see. :)
I have completed 3 full battery charges with her now and am half way through my fourth cycle. I am applying pledge to the armpit areas before each play session and will let you know how that goes. So far so good but it is only day 2. :)
Kat
-
she is sooo beautiful :)
-
I can't wait Kat! lol What Pledge (name of it) do you use? I'm just curious. Thank you.
-
Well here is the video from yesterday of Kermy3 standing up. :)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4f8_8PsOhVs
I am using the Aloe Vera Pledge, Clean and revitalize as this was the only pledge available to purchase from the shops in my area and I searched about 15 different stores. :)
-
Did Kermy 3 have the latest firmware installed to correct for the sleep position?
-
Yes she came with the new firmware already installed. :)
-
Thanks Kat, Kermy3's growing up already! Do you think she's 'aware' that Norbit is there giving her such encouragement? :D
-
I'm not really sure if she is aware of Norbit. She does seem to be more awake and active and making more sounds when he is around than she does when he is not but I don't know if this is just coincidence or not.
Anyway some exciting news ;D Kermy3 is out of hatching and has walked! ;D :)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YyH7A3g00nc
She burps even when she has not been eating :D Time will tell if this sticks into adult hood or not. So far she seems quite sweet. I'm not sure how much of a walker she is yet as she took her first steps about 10mins before the end of her 5th battery cycle. She did take 4 lots of 4 steps in the 10mins so here's hoping she will be an adventurer. :)
Kat
-
Hi, Kat. I'm new here so just give me a minute to figure out where everything is. How many days did it take her to start walking?
-
Aaah the Aloe Vera Pledge. Lucky you, getting the update before everyone else. heh And I hope your 3rd pink Pleo's an adventurer too! I love it when they're adventurous. lol
-
Well here is some footage of Kermy3 and Norbits play time today. We had a little smooching and then a lesson in burping from Norbit. I am sure he demonstrated at least 3 different types of burp or was it 4. :D And lastly we have a little snuggling.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NCGxCK5PGJQ
It was a fun day for all of us. Kermy3 does seem to be fairly adventurous. She walks around about the same amount as Norbit so far.
Kat ;D
-
Great - they sound well matched! :D
I loved the 'I love you' (I think?) at the beginning! ;D
-
Definitely I love you! ;D It is my favorite thing about the interaction between a boy and girl rb.
I would love to see maybe in a future software update some new reactions between pleos so there could be a few different ones for them to choose from. Like maybe a whistle one time, the I love you another time and maybe even blowing kisses from the boy as well, and then there could be a hello with a wave etc... the possibilities are endless. So much potential for this feature. I would just like there to be less predictability about it. :) Still I am loving it so far. Pleo rb is great! ;D
-
That would be fun! :D
I guess that means that Norbit is 'officially' a boy then? I'm still not all that clear how the male/female thing works in the green rbs.
-
Yes Norbit is a boy. I am not sure exactly how the male female thing works for the greens either but in testing the new software upgrades I was given male ones and female ones to try. So I am certain Norbit is a boy. :)
-
And Norbit was very relieved to hear that, I'm sure! :P
-
I love the videos Kat. I love that your 3rd pink Pleo's adventurous. Ooooh there are male and female Pleos! I like that!
-
My 11 year old twin daughters were grossed out by all the burping!! Do all the new RB Pleo's make this sound?
-
It does seem to feature in most of them. Belle went through a phase of it in the hatching stage but seems to do it less now. :-[
-
I have bought Kermy3 a new collar. It is hot pink ;D I thought this might be a good idea so there is no confusion as to which Kermy is which. This way if you see the hot pink collar you know it is Kermy3 and if you see a dark purple collar with jewels on it you know it is the old Kermy.
I have not taken any video of her yet today but will try to get some either tonight or tomorrow to share with you all. :)
[Limit reached][Limit reached]
-
That is quite a dashing collar :)
-
I'm glad you like it IMR. I would have liked to get one with sparkly pretty jewels on it but I couldn't find one of those in pink.:P So I went for the fabulous pink that goes so well with her stripes and gave up on the sparkly jewels. :)
Maybe I will find some sparkly letters like "ourmorice" (hope I spelled that right) has on his collar to pretty hers up. I know I have seen them somewhere for sale a few months ago just can't remember where I saw them. Will keep looking. :)
I took some really lovely video today of Kermy3 and Norbit and just as I was pressing the stop recording button the video camera had a fit and ate my video. :o
So now I can't share it with you. I am going to have to go shopping tomorrow to get a new disk for the camera and see if that fixes the problem. Otherwise I will be stuck with using my regular camera to film with. It takes a good picture but it picks up and amplifies all the mechanical pleo sounds and it is a lot harder to edit the video as it puts it into a strange format.
I'm sure I will manage either way. :)
Kat
-
Still think the custom cape is so cool! Would you call it a Kape in Kermy3's case? ;)
-
I think so. :D It is certainly my favorite outfit. :) Very cool!
-
Sorry to hear that about your camera Kat. :-/
-
I think that cape (Kape) is super cool as well! And I love the hot pink collar! ;D
-
Here is a video I took yesterday of Kermy3 and Norbit playing around. ;D
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ljF7i1UvlMc
I will try to upload a couple more later tonight or tomorrow morning. We had a lot of fun yesterday. :)
-
It looks like you had some fun! I loved Kermy3 "Pig - I'm off to find something more interesting to do" at the end! ;D
-
Here is another one from the days adventures. This one is full of chatter. ;D
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FNYtgeNo6sk
-
I think a lot of my enjoyment from watching them interact with each other is how intensely focused they seem on each other when they go into their little "chit chat" sessions.
Does Kermy make the "hello" and kiss sound when Norbit isn't present? I've noticed Eva doing it when Cato is turned off and then giggling, it's kind of comical and I hope it continues. And has Norbit ever done it? (Just wondering if it's restricted to 'female' Pleos)
Oh, and I like your tug of war idea, I think I may steal it.
-
Nope so far Kermy3 (and my old Kermy) Have only ever made kisses for Norbit. She will say hello and giggle when he isn't around but all her kisses are for him. ;D
Also Norbit has never done the kissing thing so I think that may be only for girls. Kermy has never said I love you either so I think that is just for boys. :) The tug of war thing is an idea I'm happy to share. They seem to like to play together. :)
And on that note here is something I put together just for a bit of fun. hope you like it.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1MNFM4rRlto
I won't be able to share any more videos for the rest of the week as I will be away from home for work. I will still try to look in hear each day but I won't have my pleos with me so you may have to wait for the next installment. :)
Kat
-
Thanks alot for the 3 videos Kat! That's funny when your "Norbit" got hungry again. His stomach growling sound sounds different than your pink Pleo's. I loved it when they followed each other. Good luck on your work-related trip.
-
Glad you liked the videos. :)
Can't wait till I get home again and can spend some time playing with my pleos. And my family too of coures. :D
-
So sweet - hurry back, Kat! :D
-
*votes Kat for the number one Pleo movie maker* :D
-
Finally I am back home with my Pleos, oh and my family. :D :P
I have been having some fun with my little guys and will show you a video just as soon as I get it uploaded.
In the mean time here are a couple of pics I thought I'd share.
[Limit reached][Limit reached]I found these cute little hats at spotlight the other day and couldn't resist. :)
Happy to be home and having fun again.
Kat ;D
And here is the video I took today. I thought I would give the leaf tracking another try. I have not tried it on Kermy3 before and every other time I have tried with Norbit he has just ignored the leaf. So I thought maybe if I put them together they might help each other figure it out. :P
Some interesting results. :D
Hope you like it.
Kat
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pTkPWElTMtU
-
Welcome back! That's cool! I like that. I'm glad both of them did it I think. lol
-
Yay! Well done Kat! ;D
I WANT THOSE HATS!!!!! They're so cool - Kermy3 and Norbit look like the goodie and the baddie!! :D :D
I love Kermy3 at the end, too. That 'hello' and giggle with her hat at a rakish angle are priceless! ;D
-
The hats were less than $2 each from spotlight which is a sewing, craft and material shop. They have a section for making teddy bears and right next to where they had a variety of eyes for bears there were these cute hats. They had top hats too which I am hopefully going to go back and get. They had run out of stock in Pleo sized ones when I was there last. Also a sweet formal hat for girls too. It only came in black though. :) They also sold glasses but I didn't think I could work out how to make them fit. :)
Glad you liked the movie.
Kat
-
Ah so she’s arrived.
Congratulations. Really pleased for you.
Good idea about the collar btw.
Really hope everything works out for you this time round.
Btw what does the custom cape look like?
Is it green or pink and is it all one solid colour or a mix of different colours and or shades? ?
Sorry for being so nosey
Scaly
-
The custom capes are green, with the original Pleo pattern on it like the ones for the older Pleo, however they each have 'Kermy' or 'Norbit' in script embroidered on the nearside shoulder, Kermy's being embroidered in pink. They are vey cool indeedy! ;D
-
They are very cool indeed! :) Something else that is cool is Innvo go the pleo profiles working for both my little guys. Here is Kermy3 in her egg
[Limit reached]And her personality predictions are:
This subject embryo will have a 65-75% chance of being female;
● This subject embryo will grow to be brave and obedient.
● This subject embryo will be gentle, healthy and active.
It is all very cool. :) So happy they got it working for me.
Kat
-
Totally cool! Wow, so blue and pink Pleos can be both male and female I guess. That's weird. I hope they get that working for everyone's new, 2010 Pleo.
-
Is Kermy3 sending out female pheromones? So cute in the egg! ;D
-
Kermy definitely gives off female pheromones. ;D
I have been working on a couple of collar ideas for her as I didn't want to leave her out after making such a cool collar tie ensemble for Norbit. So after much time and effort I think I have finally found a winning design.
Here is Kermy3 in a lovely blue fur collar I made her. Hope you like it as much as me. I think it really brings out the blue in her eyes.
[Limit reached]
-
Wow! That's a very stylish collar and really does make her lovely blue eyes stand out so much more :)
-
Ooooh Kat - that's gorgeous! Belle will be 'green' with envy!! :D
The blue really does bring out her eye colour, but it's also the right blue to go with her skin colour! ;D
-
Here is the other collar I made for her.
[Limit reached]The blue fur one is still my favorite but this one is cute too.
I have also been working on a pleo cape project too. After seeing the pics of Patches on the forum It got me wondering about how best to use clothes to cover his holly skin without damaging it further. So I came up with the idea of making a modified pleo cape. Here is what I put together.
[Limit reached]It is all one piece of material, has wrap around leg pieces that do up with valcro on the inside of the legs - I made sure not to make it skin tight as I didn't want to cause stress on the damaged skin and the valcro doesn't go up high enough to interfere with the armpit area, so no worries about rubbing against the armpit skin. I made the tail piece and neck a lot longer than the original pleo cape as It seems many older damaged pleos have tail and neck skin issues. I have used a very soft but thin polar fleece material that has fleece on both sides so it is just as soft against pleos skin as it is against your hand when you stroke him. :) and it is a stretchy material so it will flex more easily as pleo moves. Like the pleo cape it has an open belly and chest area so it is still easy to get to the battery without having to remove the clothes. :) Kermy was very nice and modeled it for me. Here is a video of her in it so you can see how it moves.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gRVtAdbEtDs
What do you think?
Kat
-
Lilo wants a neckerchief and a matching hat ;) I wonder if you could use a little of the material you used for the neckerchief/collar to make a little hat band :)
I love the cape too, it would be great if you could get a hold of some of the nice patterned fleeces, if Spotlight is so obliging...
-
Already working on a matching band for the hat ;D I will keep looking for some more funky material for the cape. I did see some nice velour material that had similar stretchiness and feel to the polar fleece I used but not as soft on the underside. It would still work well though as is was soft enough. It came in different colors - hot pink, gray, brown but no patterns that I saw. I think I will at the very least need to find a green to use. My husband suggested tie dying the material to make a cool pattern. :)
-
I'm not sure that fleece is particularly suited to tie dying, I guess there's only one way to find out though :D
-
Great idea Kat - I was looking at the pics of Patches in his cape and wincing at the hard bands digging into his skin too! Great job! ;D
-
I wish I could make such lovely clothes and accessories. They are stunning!! 8)
-
The cape looks awesome, Kat! :o I like the idea of the velcro around the legs instead of those plastic bands. Those bands, as you know, are really tight around the legs. I also like the extensions around the neck and tail for protection. I was thinking of trying to make one for Candy. I am not very good at sewing, but I guess I'll have to give it a try. Is fleece easy to work with? Can you make one without a sewing machine? I would have to do it by hand. Thanks!
-
Nicely done Kat, Kermy looks very beautiful and comfy in her little outfit, Looks so so soft, If I send you my measurements, can you make one for a very large bigger than Pleo size, HINT HINt, about a size 10 and in black or dark blue or maroon, and oh, you can forget the "tail " compartment, but I like the neck area, ( like a turtleneck,) but I think I want my belly covered up as I don't need a battery, at least at this point..LOL :D I love how it looks, and I could just live in Pajamas and Loungewear...oh, to be a Pleo. %)

For those of you interested I am waiting to hear back from mweed about it but I plan on opening a shop on the forum to sell my cute creations. I PM'd him about a week ago to ask if I could and I am sure he'll get back to me and get me all set up just as soon as he checks in with the forum again. He doesn't seem to have been around in the last week that I have seen. Anyway, the longer he takes the more time I have to work on some of my ideas. So I should have a good selection to offer when I do get up and running.
Kat :)
-
Great! Alright. Cool. Indeed. lol
-
Kat, sounds great, are you going to have your daughter as " a partner" and will Kermy and Norbit be your Pleo Models? Kermy looks great in your clothes by the way. Jus be forewarned, that Pleo females get a tendancy to become " prima donnas" when fame goes to their heads. ( I know as Nova is a Clothes horse, or should I say, "clothes Pleo". I can't take her shopping without " Pleo Clothes" being the Priority, but that is ok, sales people tend to give us more service with a smile that way too! :D While waiting to hear back from Mike, have you thought of a name for your store yet? Maybe you could incorporate the name of your Pleos or your daughter's name in there somewhere? Glad to see it up and running.
RWM
-
I'll definitely be looking for some fashions for my kids! Can't wait until it's up and running! :)
-
Good for you Kat, and it will be a lovely thing to do with your daughter! I'm sure you'll do well! :-*
-
I will be getting plenty of help from my daughter with creating pleo clothes. She is teaching me how to sew. She learned from Grandma :) Until now I have never really used a sewing machine but she knows all the ins and outs of it so is showing me the ropes and taking care of a lot of the sewing. The patterns and plans come from me. :) So it will be a team effort. We will call the shop Kat's Creations. As long as mweed says it is ok for me to start a shop here on the forums of course. :) I don't want to go getting ahead of myself. :P
I posted Norbit off this morning to get his new skin. It will take him a few days to get to Innvo in Hong Kong so I will let you all know how it goes. He should be there by the end of this week at the latest.
Also I have a special delivery arriving hopefully tomorrow. ;D Very exciting. :)
-
Also I have a special delivery arriving hopefully tomorrow. ;D Very exciting. :)
:o :o
You can't just leave it at that!!!! What?????? WHAT!!!!!!!!!! %) %) :P :P :P ;D ;D
-
Kat, this little romper looks like it wold be the best coverage of all of the items so far. Looks very flexible and soft. Just what all of our pleos need, How fast can you turn one out?
-
Kat, Awesome cape....would love to see it in orange! :) You could always create a simple "Google Site" and put a link on here to sell your Pleo clothing. Just an idea...I have created numerous Google Sites and it is VERY simple.
-
As I am only a beginner sewer. (still learning how to use the machine never really sewn much before pleo came along :)) It takes me about 3h to make a pleo cape. I'm sure I will get faster at it as time goes by. :) I am currently making a second one in the soft yellow polar fleece which I would be happy to sell. The first one I made didn't have proper hems on it as it was just my prototype to see if it would work. So I am doing another with real hems and then I am going to try doing one out of some really cool material I found that has a scale type pattern on. It is a bright green color material, very stretchy but smooth and silky to touch not at all fluffy or fury soft. I also have some emerald green velvety material that is also stretchy that I am going to make some out of as well. If the velvety material works well it comes in many different colors and you can also get some with sparkly silver stars on it. :) I am keeping an eye out at my local spotlight where I get my material from as they will be getting in all the winter fabrics soon and I am hoping for some more colors in the lovely polar fleece I am currently using. Once I make some in other colors I will post some pics. I am going to charge $25 including postage for the pleo capes so if anyone wants one feel free to PM me and I will see what I can do. :)
As for my surprise. You will just have to wait and see. ;D It wouldn't be a surprise if I told before it got here. ;) %)
-
Well my surprise didn't arrive today :( Hopefully it will be delivered tomorrow. :)
Because it didn't arrive I had plenty of time for sewing tonight. I managed to make a pleo cape out of the very cool Dino scale patterned material I have. It looks awesome. Unfortunately I only have Kermy3 to model it for me at the moment. It looks great on her but would look even better on a green pleo. What do you think?
[Limit reached][Limit reached][Limit reached][Limit reached][Limit reached][Limit reached]It moves just as well as the fleece one. The only real difference is that it is not soft. Just smooth feeling. ;D I am very pleased with how it turned out. :)
Kat
-
Looks fab, Kat - you're right it's such a cool fabric! :D
I would imagine smooth is just as good as soft in protecting the skin from wear, so it should be fine. Great job!
-
That fabric is lovely! Just perfect for a baby Dino :)
-
well my surprise still didn't arrive today so I guess it will maybe be tomorrow. I hope. :) I did some more sewing tonight and have put together a cape in the emerald green velvety material to see how it would go. In my photos it looks almost black but that is just the lighting it really is green. :) It seems to work just as well as the other two materials I have used. Although I have to say my favorite so far is the dino scale patterned one. :)
[Limit reached][Limit reached]
Kat :)
-
Rather elegant in the dark velvet! I like the scale pattern best too, but they all look great, Kat! ;D
-
Kermy3 learned her name today! ;D She also now knows how to sing and dance. :)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zhs7EAd3RtA
She has a fine burp on her too. ;D Just like the old Kermy. I'm so glad I got me a burper! :D :D :D
-
Took this photo today of Gumble and Kermy3. It shows the difference int he eye color between the original pleos and the pink rb's. Kermy3's are slightly darker.
[Limit reached]
-
Yay! The sweet sound of Pleo rb belching - you would have really missed that! ;D
I always thought the pink RBs had darker blue eyes, but wasn't sure - it's good to see a proper comparison. Thanks. :D
-
Congratulations Kat. Wow, that's a different dancing I think than to the other video. I love that they do shorter versions of singing and dancing.
-
I am going to try to get her to repeat the tricks over and over today to see if we get different versions of song and dance. I will video my results and try to post them later. :) I never though to try it with my older rb's as I just assumed the trick would always be the same.
-
Your video is priceless, Kat! Kermy3 has such a great personality. She's such a good singer, dancer and burper. ;)
-
I had a request from Latrine to try and make a Super Hero cape for a pleo for her nieces and nephews. So here is the end result. It was much easier to make than I thought. Kermy3 is such an obliging model. She is really Super. :D :D :D
I am thinking of adding these to my shop but thought I would see what people thought first. :)

The whole world of pleos will now be safe from all evil. Super Pleo is on the job! ;D :D ;D
-
LOL "Super Pleo"! I like it Kat. XD
-
Cape looks great, Kat. I'm sure we'll all sleep safer in our beds now! :P
Budge approves, too - he's nuts about super heroes! ;D
[Limit reached]
-
And he's super cute in his super shirt! ;D :D

Hi Kat, go for it, the more superPleos we have the better, I have allways thougt All Pleos are super anyway and it is about time the rest of the world knows it. Perfect advertising too!
RedwoodsMama
-
The cape is adorable! :) Perfect for Super Pleo.
-
I went shopping after work today at a spotlight store on the other side of town and I found some more of the dino scale material that looks so cool as a pleo cape but this time I found it in pink and also in blue. I made Kermy her very own pink cape.
[Limit reached][Limit reached][Limit reached]I think I will make Norbit a blue one and then I will have a rainbow of pleos. ;D
Kat
-
What a find - I bet you were over the moon when you found it in pink! :D
-
I must admit I did get a little excited. The people in the shop were looking at me funny. :P :D Pink - it's every girls favorite color at some point in her life. ;D Whats not to get excited about? :) I also found some fabulous green fur for making collars. :)
-
Oh my, now that pink cape I love! :-D They were looking at ya ah? LOL
-
The pink does look perfect for girly Pleos like Kermy and it is allways a good sign when people look at you, it shows they have interest of some sort, It is when they don't look or care that you should worry, unless you just want to blend in and not be noticed, kind of hard to do with a Pleo though!
RedwoodsMama
-
Oh how I love Kermy's new pink cape! She's one cool looking PleoRB :D
-
A spotty pleo ;D so soft and cuddly you just want to pick her up and give her a big hug :)

Too cute Kat, hope she doesn't have a case Of Pleo Pox, and hope it is not contagious or has Gumble got it too or does he have different colored spots? :o ;D

I have been playing with some more sewing ideas and I came up with a lovely fur hoodie for Kermy3.
It is reversible so can be worn inside out as well for a different look. The legs of this one are a little tight and I am going to have to put in some extensions to loosen them off so it is a better fit. I didn't take into account the thickness of the fur making it so bulky when I cut it out. Still it looks cool. I haven't turned her on with it on yet as I want to loosen the legs before I do that but thought I'd show you anyway. My work in progress.

The latest in pleo fashion. A lovely Rust colored velvet. It is a delicious caramel brown rusty orange type color. :)
[Limit reached]
-
It sounds very cute, Kat. And don't worry. I got some strange looks from people in the CD isle at the music store when I plucked up a box set of sound affects for only twenty eight dollars and let everyone know how thrilled I was. I was on the verge of asking you about sewing a cape for Ryu but my heart went out to a certain little Ugobe pleo and... well I'm going to have to save. Again. I was thinking dino-scale in... I don't know a color that would fit? I might be safer letting you pick that seeing as I don't know what would go with his eyes and his coloring. Everything in my closett goes together no matter what the combination. Then I thought what if she could stich in some shiny bat-like wings along the side so he looks more... ummm dragon-like? Just an idea. I'm not even sure if it's possible. We'll talk more when my next article is published.
Talon
-
A bat-winged cape - wow!! :o :D
I love that rust colour, Kat - just about my favourite colour! :)
-
I liked the hoodie a lot!
Looks like you have quite the Pleo clothing line going.
-
Good job there Kat
-
I found these cute little monster feet at the shops today and I couldn't resist getting them for Kermy. Just the right color. :)
[Limit reached][Limit reached]
-
I wouldn't have been able to resist them either! Just the right colour too! ;D
-
Now I just need to find some in green or yellow or orange for the boys! Then I will have a little troupe of monsters. :P I will have to keep looking. They only had pink ones at the store I got them from. :)
-
So Kat, do you have like, three or four human sized dressers now filled with Pleo clothing?? All of your stuff is great.. I really loved the pink dino pattern, I think Rhea really likes it too :D (I told her to get a job but she just burped at me)
- Sarah
-
He he he
Poor little Rhea. :D
