It is very nice RWM :)  You did a great job.  If you wanted an alternative for the tie around the middle you could knit a tummy band to attach to the coat to go under her belly.  If you did it in two sections that overlapped in the middle under her tummy you could then sew a button on one and use that to poke through the other to do up the middle.  

It looks good either way though :)

Thanks Kat, I like the button idea, that sounds very cute. I had another idea similiar but was trying to stay with the same trim and not straying from the pattern. Thanks for the feedback.
