I have old Ugobes with the same problem, dry skin and I use superglue and a little fabric bandage to wrap around it when the holes are that big. Sorry Leon is just well loved.

Does any superglue work, or does it have to be some special glue that works on rubber?

Hi, it is special superglue forumulated for rubber, I will send you a tube of it when I send your battery,, better yet, to make sure nothing happens to the battery, I will just post a photo. Yes, it is made for rubber, but you use with caution and test on smaller areas first, smaller holes then bigger ones, I have never had a problem when I use the proper one.
