Daisy's ear. White cats get cancer easily
This is poor Daisy, one of the deserted cats I have been feeding since about 2007. She was part of a colony of 34 cats and kittens that were a result of a owner leaving behind a cat that had three litters of kittens, 5 in a litter each year and all being relocated in 2008 to a farm in the area I live at, except for nine kittens that were young enough to be socialized and adopted, as well as two kittens I brought home and a friend also brought home a kitten and raised him from the age of 2 1/2 weeks old. Daisy and her friend, Peaches were not fourtunate enough to go to the farm so are still here in the alley close to the home they know as their home. I was shocked to see the condition of Daisy's ear. White cats, esp those with blue eyes are prone to sunburn and getting cancer of the ear because of that. White cats should be kept indoors but Daisy has no home. Because of this, Daisy's ear is obviously now cancersous and will be removed, but first I have to catch Daisy. I have been trying to catch her in a trap for some time now, but she is small and hasn't sprung the spring yet, she has walked in and stolen the tuna, sardines, etc without being caught. It breaks my heart seeing her like this, she was once a very beautiful cat,
