NOVA AND PATAGONIAN CAVY
Click the picture to view full size.
NOVA MET SOME LARGE RODENT FAMILY MEMBERS ON HER WALK IN THE REDWOODS, LOOKING LIKE LARGE RABBITS BUT THEY AREN, THEY ARE CALLED PATAGONIAN CAVYS. THE ONE IN THE FRONT IS A FEMALE AND I WAS NOT SURE IF THE ONE IN THE BACK IS A MALE OR A BABY, AS WE COULD TELL SHE HAD BEEN NURSING. THE LETTUCE SURE MADE NOVA HUNGRY THOUGH!

How adorable! I have never heard of a Patagonian Cavy. Not sure if there are any of these here in our redwood groves.

Oohhh, that's interesting, I've heard of those before but have never seen one (save for a rather inaccurate illustration in a book).

They are curious creatures, looking like the body of a rabbit with very long thin legs like a deer. They are the second largest rodent in the world. Nova really liked them as did I!
