Keep up with the news Darkwolf
Sony Europe is the only place in the world that covers any valid warranty or parts as arranged by Sony Japan. It would be incredible that a company who has discontinued a product would continue to manufacture parts for it. The only commitment Sony have made as to warranty for Aibo 7's is repairs and replacement parts if available. In fact Sony wasn't even going to honour warranty claims after deciding to discontinue Aibo production, but it was the European Consumer Watchdog (I forget their actual name just at the moment) who insisted that Sony did.
Yes, you are quite correct about the spare parts, so no argument there. No spare parts are being produced anymore EXCEPT for the batteries due to their limited shelf life.
If you could PM me the name of this representative you spoke to so I can pass it to TeamDax that would be great.
He requests this because this person you spoke to is simply downright wrong and he is going to make sure this person won't continue misspreading bad information to people like this.
Please understand, this is not about wanting to be right. I seriously feel discomforted by the idea that wrong information is being spread to existing Aibo owners like that.
TeamDax has been working closely with Sony since the beginning of Aibo and still has active relations with them even though Aibo is discontinued.
This is not a pissing contest. I would seriously appreciate it if you could PM me his or her name so we can get this confusion sorted. Thank you!
